You can't have a full Iron Maiden discography in just a single song.

Mr. Baffo: ALL of them!

THX for bringing this up. I don't no much Iron Maiden songs and already thought a stroke might have been involved with the lyrics.
All of them, plus queensryche.
This is basically my issue with this song. My ears kept telling me it's an Iron Maiden medley but my brain knew better :D

I knew from the title I was getting some Iron Maiden. I didn't think it was scientifically possible to cram this much Iron Maiden into one song, but here we are.
That sounds more iron maiden than iron maiden themselves 🎉

Sorry mate, but in Italy only pop, dance and the thing of the moment are strong (right now the trap, wich has replaced rap)
@@yopchakiand at the same time we're a very rock-loving country. Not in the same way that, for example, in Norway metal music is more common in society, but big rock and metal artists always sold out quickly, there's always a passionate crowd, album sales have always been (in proportion, talking about the billboard rankings) higher than many other European countries... Italy is weird lol
How?
Friend: I want to start listening to Iron Maiden, what songs do you recommend?
Me: Afraid to shoot into the eyes of a stranger in a strange land, from Nanowar.
Friend: But that's not Iron Maiden.
Me: Just listen to it.
Bro, I have your propic as my computer wallpaper, the same picture
This is not what the metal world wanted. It´s what it NEEDED.
I feel like that’s like a lot of their songs.
Did we want this or ask for this? No. Did we need to hear it? Yes

So, when can we expect Nanowar Of Steel - Seek and Hit the Master of Creeping Whiplash Ride the Unforgiven Sandman of Disposable Heroes that never comes?
The imitation of Maidens style is underrated here, I feel. This is so detailed! There are the guitars playing harmonies, the tempo, the solos, Bruces style of singing, the structure of the song... all of it.
Really well done!
It just OOZES with what makes the Maiden songs what they are, and are a great joke on Iron Maiden
also the length of the song... :D or almost. Could have been at least 12 minutes very easily
Not to mention the useless, too long bass outro 🤣
Edit: correction, for the first time, I've seen a use for that outro: the end credits.
Yeah, this song is a really good pastiche of Iron Maidenendom.
😁
More like Blaze's voice !
LYRICS:
AFRAID TO SHOOT INTO THE EYES OF A STRANGER IN A STRANGE LAND
Fly on your way, fly as high as the sun, wasting love with women in uniform
Run to the hills, run from your wife, caught somewhere in time into acacia avenue
Be quick or be a long distance runner
No prayer for the long distance runner
The loneliness of the long distance runner to the hills
Seventh son of the long distance runner
Afraid, to shoot into the eyes of a stranger
A stranger in a strange world of a strange land
Afraid to look to the eyes of a stranger
The stranger of a stranger in a strange land
Flash of the Blaze, Aces high, falling down, the evil that the long distance runner do
Running free, live to fly, fly to live, fly to fly, do or diet or be a long distance runner
Children of Charlotte the harlot
The number of Charlotte the harlot
Fear of the virus of Charlotte the harlot
The virus of the ancient Mariner
Can I play with Charlotte the harlot
Hallowed Be thy Charlotte the harlot
You'll take my virus but I'll take yours too
Only the long distance runner die young
Flash of the Blaze è la perla!
There were lyrics here? Strange.
166 tocco di classe vintage 😂😂 per vecchi come me
0:45 The Nokia 3310 with the dial number 166 on the screen is a reference to their old Iron Maiden parody, _The Number Of The B1tch._
also to the fact that 166 was a common prefix for hotline numbers in italy in the 90s
So the references I could catch in chronological order:
1 Afraid to Shoot Strangers
2 Stranger in a strange land
3 Don't look to the eyes of a stranger
4 Flight of the Icarus
5 Wasting Love
6 Women in Uniform
7 Run to the hills
8 Caught somewhere in time
9 22 Acacia Avenue
10 Be quick or be dead
11 Loneliness of a long distance runner
12 No prayer for dying
13 Seventh son of the seven son
14 Flash of the blade
15 Aces high
16 The evil that man do
17 Running free
18 Children of the damned
19 Charlotte the harlot
20 The number of the beast
21 Fear of the dark
22 Virus
23 The rime of the ancient mariner
24 Can I play with madness?
25 Hallowed be thy name
26 The trooper
27 Only the good die young
That is roughly 15 percent of the Iron Maiden's whole discography 😳
Well, the first reference I heard was the bass intro from Blood Brothers. Later I heard many more riffs I should actually name instantly (but sadly, I can't). So I think we can easily get 25% if we dig a little more.
man on the edge (falling down)
And Strange World
@@richardstrikesback8798 It's the intro of Blood Brothers combined with the one of Lightning Strikes Twice.
I think there's also a riff from Deja Vu and the rythm from lightning strikes twice is in all the song too
1:18 that moment the wife appears is now officially responsible for a huge coffee stain over my whole screen, I wasn't ready for this
😂
Same here. I started crying with laughter from that point up to the end of the song.
That Nokia 3310 dialling 166 though… 😂😂😂 the number of the harlot
Just remember ...
166 is the number of the Bitch
144 is the number of the Whore
666 is the number of the Beast
Don't make a mistake since it is an expensive hotline call.
Norwegian reggaeton was the first thing I heard about you. You guys are great, your songs always make me laugh. Keep it up, its fucking awesome. Maybe I'll see you live someday

What is the difference between 666 and 166? 666 is the number of the beast. 166 is an old hotline number.

This is why I love Nanowar - I have no idea what I just watched, get none of the references, all the jokes flew right over my head, and I'm still having a great time and laughing happily. Bit by bit, the 'what the hell was that about" questions will by answered by people in the comments, and once I know I'll still be having a great time and laughing happily. May Dog bless you all, Nanowar!
same, plus I'm watching it with my 7yo son who points at the screen and asks "dad whats' that?" and I honestly can't answer, and we still both enjoy the experience.
To understand all the references you need to know a lot of things and listen at least seventy times the discography of Iron Maiden
@@Kleyguerthit’s basically every well known Iron Maiden song, either by title or by prominent lines of the lyrics. From their debut until mid 90’s at least, didn’t catch references to any of the newer songs though, maybe need to watch it several times to catch the rest?
@@aunjohnsen5041 I'm pretty sure they stopped at "Futureal". I'm sure I would catch references up to "Dance of Death". Also there's not much wiggle room, every single word is a reference and I got them all.
There's some of not very well known Iron Maiden songs, like "Only the good die young", "Don't look into the eyes of a stranger", "Flash of the Blade" and "Virus"
@@Kleyguerth I’ll probably rewatch this a couple of times over the next week, and guess I will catch even more references. I am not 100% on maiden, so I might need refreshers there to catch them all. And not just the words, but also the artworks, the riffs, the bass lines, the drum fills, and the melody lines. Highly complex. Anyways, this is entertaining!

The thing that got me was the second solo, it was the best parody i have heard in years and all that without lyrics
Janick Gers approved.
Ive tried to dysect the lyrics to find all the Maiden references in the songtext. To flesh out the answers I used ai.
Here are all the references I found:
1. Afraid to Shoot Strangers: A track from the album "Fear of the Dark" (1992), dealing with the fear and confusion of soldiers in battle.
2. Stranger in a Strange Land: A single from the album "Somewhere in Time" (1986), about an Arctic explorer who dies and is found frozen years later.
3. Flight of Icarus: This seems to be alluded to with the line "Fly as high as the sun," referencing the Greek myth of Icarus and Daedalus, paralleled in the Iron Maiden song from the album "Piece of Mind" (1983).
4. Wasting Love: A track from "Fear of the Dark" (1992), discussing the emptiness of one-night stands.
5. Women in Uniform: A non-album single released in 1980, covering the song originally by Skyhooks.
6. Run to the Hills: One of Iron Maiden's most famous songs, from "The Number of the Beast" (1982), depicting the conflict between Native Americans and European settlers.
7. Caught Somewhere in Time: The opening track from "Somewhere in Time" (1986), dealing with themes of time travel.
8.Acacia Avenue: Likely referring to "22 Acacia Avenue," a song from "The Number of the Beast" (1982), about the life of a prostitute.
9.The Loneliness of the Long Distance Runner: A track from "Somewhere in Time" (1986), inspired by the short story of the same name.
10. Seventh Son of a Seventh Son: The title track of the album "Seventh Son of a Seventh Son" (1988), dealing with a mythical child with clairvoyant powers.
11.The Number of the Beast: Title track of the album "The Number of the Beast" (1982), inspired by a nightmare of bassist Steve Harris, dealing with the theme of hell and damnation.
12. Flash of the Blade: A song from the album "Powerslave" (1984), about a young swordsman seeking vengeance.
13. Aces High: The opening track of "Powerslave" (1984), depicting a British RAF pilot fighting during the Battle of Britain in WWII.
14. Running Free: The band's debut single from their self-titled album (1980), about a young man's adventures on the streets.
15. Live to Fly: Likely a misquote or blending of "Aces High" lyrics, pertaining to the theme of flying and freedom.
16. Children of the Damned: A track from "The Number of the Beast" (1982), inspired by the films "Village of the Damned" and "Children of the Damned."
17. Charlotte the Harlot: A song from the debut album "Iron Maiden" (1980), about a prostitute. This character is revisited in "22 Acacia Avenue."
18. Fear of the Dark: The title track of the album "Fear of the Dark" (1992), dealing with the universal fear of darkness and what lies within it.
19. Rime of the Ancient Mariner: A lengthy track from "Powerslave" (1984), based on the poem by Samuel Taylor Coleridge about a cursed sailor's tale.
20. Can I Play with Madness: From the album "Seventh Son of a Seventh Son" (1988), dealing with a young man's confrontation with a prophet.
21. Hallowed Be Thy Name: A song from "The Number of the Beast" (1982), contemplating a man's thoughts just before his execution.
Edit 1: Yes, the commenters below are correct, I used ai. I used ai to fill in the gaps, after writing down the titles I knew.
22. Virus, A song from "Best of the Beast" (1996)
23. Don't Look Into the Eyes of A Stranger, a song from "Futureal" (1998)
24. The Evil That Men Do, another song from "Seventh Son of a Seventh Son" (1988)
25. Only The Good Die Young, yet another song from "Seventh Son of a Senventh Son" (1988)
26. Strange World, a song from their debut album "Iron Maiden" (1980)
27. "Falling Down" is a reference to "Man on the Edge", a song from "The X Factor" (1995), a song about an office worker about to commit suicide due to financial struggles
28. Be Quick Or Dead, song from "Fear of the Dark" (1992)
29. No Prayer for the Dying, song from "No Prayer for the Dying" (1990)
30. "You'll take my virus and I'll take yours too" is a reference to "The Trooper", a song from "Piece of Mind" (1993). The song starts with the lyrics "You'll take my life but I'll take yours too".
Oh and "Live to Fly" isn't a misquote, Aces High has exactly that verse in its chorus. (Run, live to fly, fly to live, aces high)
Yes, that's a proper AI answer. It just needed a bit of fact check, but a good idea.
Edit: this was meant to be comment to the guy who posted the first part 😊
2nd edit: And I want to emphasize that there's absolutely nothing wrong with that; I just would've appreciated denouncing it as an answer from AI 👍
31. Blood Brothers: the bass line in the end is the intro of the song, from the album Brave New World.
I believe "be quick or be a long distance runner" in the first verse is a reference to "Be quick or be dead".
@@RiimukiviMusic you are correct, Ive added the hint :) i wrote down the song titles I got by going through the lyrics and let ai do the rest. Did not mean to decieve, was just a bit naive. But no offence taken. Thanks for pointing it out. You help make the internet a better place. :)
I love how much love “The Loneliness of the Long Distance Runner” got here, considering Maiden themselves have only played it once.
And Googling it to make sure I didn't miss Maiden making such a song, turns out that besides it actually being a song there's a movie by that title in which it was based! And it's british too!

I love how each of the tunes is slightly off not to brake any license :D but still even when each of them is bit off its Iron Maiden :D
Absolute beast of a song fellas. When your mother says she can make Iron Maiden at home better than the albums, and she was right. Kudos from Australia.
When an Italian mother says she can make it better at home, she can make it better at home.
This is so much fun, but the most impressive thing is not what they did here, but that they did it in less than 7 minutes.

It works. Just listening to the music, I could be fooled into thinking this was Iron Maiden and then stand around increasingly weirded out by my inability to pin down which number I was listening to. Pretty well, done because that playing style is taxing to say the least but you nail it. Watching the vid, I realize the lyrics are as if Dickinson forgot to put on his oxygenmask flying to his next gig. Seems like it's basically as many maiden-lines as possible crammed into the verses and never mind if it makes any sense. But the cartoons are awesome! I don't know how many nights I've been sitting listening to Maiden while drawing Eddie from the album covers. It puts me right back in that mellow late-night mood.
Overall a great and suitably weird homage to a bunch of essentially very weird characters having formed this awesome band👍

This is strangely unsettling.
