I miss this mall! Going to Vista Ridge with my family are some of my fondest childhood memories. My mom and I would sit at the fountain while eating a cheese-dipped pretzel every single visit. I also got my ears pierced at the Libby Lu in the early 2000’s! In the early 2010’s I had my first “dates” here. I even bought my first homecoming dress at Vista Ridge. This mall also used to have a dream-like Disney store, a food court with an Orange Julius, and would put up a massive Christmas tree next to the elevators every year... I can’t believe they haven’t updated that 90’s seafoam green! 😂
this mall is basically dead now in 2021 , there’s no more good stores in there.i remember when i was a kid , it was very packed and couldn’t wait to be a teen to shop with friends. i’m a teen now , not as exciting anymore sadly.
I used to at the theater in this mall when I was in high school in the early 90’s. I moved to Florida almost 20 years ago and it kinda hurt my feelings to hear that it was almost dead.
Now with the Zion Market the mall has gotten fuller, plus with the vents like the one where they showed stuff from their cultures, for example food accessories and clothing. So it's still going through a rough time but it's a good mall.
This mall makes me sad going to it nowadays. Aside from the Zion market and the collection of Asian vendors, which is very healthy and busy, the mall feels so dead. Hope it can somehow be revived, but at this point I do doubt it
it's basically dead now, so many of the stores are dying and are closing, it sucks because i went when i was a kid and ive been there recently but nothings really happening for the little mall, always gave me late 80's vibes
Grew up going to this mall, and went up onto the roof and into the tornado shelter in it when I was in girl scouts in the 90s. In high school in about 2005 or so I took photos of the mall (and other malls in the area) for my school paper. I really miss the old Cinemark theater there! The garish one was great, I saw movies there so many times, one of the earliest of which that I can remember being The Lion King (we called ahead and it was sold out!) I'm really glad someone gave this the dead mall treatment it deserves, the footage and editing is stunning!
Even though this mall is at 65% occupancy (which isn’t too bad but also isn’t good), there was barely anyone in the mall when I went except for Dillard’s Clearance Center, Zion Market, and the center court. I wouldn’t be surprised if Macy’s closed their location here when they announce their closing list in December.
K P I used to work at the cinemark theater in this mall and spent a lot of money shopping in there. I remember how great this place through the early 90’s and it kinda hurts that 1 of my favorite places to go to through my teen years isn’t doing well now.
They have some unique things utilizing the available space - axe throwing, Lewisville senior citizen center, and a cat cafe (pay to hang out with adoptable kitties!)
It's not DEAD or even close! Lot's going on! Construction, New Stores, Entertainment, Kid Friendly events! You should come out and see all that we have done here!
Thanks for viewing and commenting! Even thought there's some creative use of space, i.e Lewisville Senior Citizen Center & Cat Cafe, this mall is giving me Valley View and Collin Creek pre-closure vibes with the dated aesthetic, lack of national chains, vacant storefronts, and minimal foot traffic. During my recent visit, I had to alert mall security regarding a panhandler who was following me and asking for money. Not really a good look!
@@KPalm603 I am just now seeing this from before- and a LOT more has changed! We are driving incredible traffic in our mall with our events, and working on spaces for entertainment. Since my company purchased the mall only 2 years ago, it does take TIME to rebuild! And we are doing that everyday, by giving folks space to have their retail dream, we have Macy's, JCPenney, Dillard's Clearance, Victoria's Secret, Kay Jewelers, Rue21, Zumiez, Great American Cookie Company, Zumiez, Journey's to name just a few NATIONAL chains that are in our mall! We have opened Zion Market, and our Food Court is FULL of tenants and we are adding folks daily to our list! We so many events and entertainment options, that if you come on the weekend you will see all of those items! But by posting us as a DEAD mall, you are incorrect. And understand, that by saying this words, you discourage traffic, and deny folks ability to make a living, not only from those who work here, but those who have businesses here. We have a top notch security detail here, and last weekend alone, we were slammed with 3 MAJOR events, and again this weekend we will have a HUGE event going on, PLUS not to mention we have LIVE music daily on our Center Court Stage. So at the end of the day, we are not DEAD, we are rebuilding. We are NOT closing, we have plans for this place, and like most things it takes time, and we are doing it! I love my job here, as I have been in this market for over 25 years in Marketing, Radio, Promotions and Events, and have never worked with more amazing team. The people that work for MCML are amazing, hard working, dedicated people that are working hard to make this an amazing place, for the City of Lewisville, and all the surrounding communities.
@@jamesjoseph8343 Nope, we have new tenants coming in (that does take time you know), and I have every single weekend booked with events and family friendly events from now till January. So, yes, you may think it is, but we don't. We have a lot of small businesses here doing well. We have amazing staff here, and folks, that started new businesses here actualizing their dreams. So , you can say what you want, that's YOUR opinion, but those of us who are here everyday, working hard, helping others, know what is really happening. But thank you for visiting our mall! AND we are not closing ANYTIME soon. We have zero debt and have plans for the future!

2022 almost entering 2023 it looks so dead
Aw, sad. This place was still a cool hangout when I moved to the area ('98 -early 2000s). Is the newer Cinemark movie theater still there?
i think so i havent been to the movies in a few years but i believe its on the south west corner of the building

yes
Excellent video, didn’t know about this mall and I’m always around Lewisville.
Thanks! You should check it out - right at 121/35. They are trying hard to survive!
