Currently studying how to write essays so that i won't need help from my sister anymore. Wasn't sure where to start but then i found your channel and it was a life saver! Your videos are short and concise. It is easy to understand and gets straight to the point, Thank you !
Very well done. Thank you for this information. You are a natural teacher. The easy-going, non-pressured information was easily understood and the smile throughout is just perfect :)
Well explained. But my problem as a beginner is where to read and cite in a paper. Because some papers have secondary citations a lot. Is it advisable to cite already cited papers in a particular paper... Where exactly can I cite in my work, original paper, or already cited papers by the author(s) of the original paper am reading? Thanks for the video... Hope to receive answers to my questions soon.
Hi, Beedee Kenny! Citing can be tricky. I saw your comment here, and I thought I may be able to help! I teach an introductory college research and writing class. I also work as a writing tutor. If you have a source that's citing another source, you want to cite where the information is originally coming from. So, for example, if you're reading something by someone named Smith, and they cite a statistic about crime rates from the United States Bureau of Justice Statistics, you'd want to cite the BoJ source instead of the Smith source. But let's say that you want to reference an idea that Smith argues--we can pretend they're proposing a new method for criminal justice reform--then you would cite Smith. Additionally, you can introduce citations in a number of ways. Exact citation practices vary depending on whether you're using MLA, APA, Chicago, AP, etc. Purdue OWL online has some great resources on how to include citations and make a Works Cited/References page! Hopefully this was helpful, even if it was extremely late :)
I hve a question If i use a primary source and secondary source, can i get some information from the primary source then get information from the secondary source to make an essay?

Be careful with secondary sources with the interpretations which can misdirect and misinform from the original piece.
