I love you guys and I’m a subscriber and thanks I’m looking on the website right now.
A good idea for the shoes is to have a space in the entryway to store them inside. So the weather and bugs won't get into them . That's what we do in canada
Same in the usa
We also have to worry about snakes. No shoes are kept outside or in the garage anymore because of a neighbors story. She had yard work shoes in her garage and went out to put them on and there was a rattle snake curled up in one of the shoes. Luckily she didn’t get bit and called someone to remove the snake from her property. So scary and dangerous. Snakes, black widow spiders, & brown recluse spiders are our biggest issues.
Same in Sweden 🇸🇪
Same as in Korea.
We have a room in our house technically called a mud room but we call it a front room because it’s in the front of the house and the shoes do not go past the door way into the living room they stay in the front room and if want to go in the backyard we either walk around the outside or Cary our shoes through the house to the back door
I’m Canadian and have always taken off my shoes as soon as I came inside. A pile of shoes by the front door is standard in many houses.
Yep .. same 🇨🇦🇨🇦🇨🇦
Same!! Hello from PEI 🇨🇦
Yep!!🇨🇦
It’s a Canadian thing 🇨🇦
yep!!!
The only thing with outside shoes…spiders!! Keep them in a front entrance or garage if you can
Bees like crocs. I learned that one the hard way
Spiders get inside garages and houses too though
@@TacoTurtle2434yeah but its more likely a spider/bug will go into your shoe if its outside
Maybe shoe box outside would help ❤
@@bigmumma1969 ooh yes!
we keep all of our shoes in our mudroom, and we also have little shoe towers or benches for slides by all other doors for just backyard play or neighborhood walks so no matter what door we're exiting from, we don't have to search for shoes or wear them through the house and no matter what door we enter, there is a place to put your shoes
We don’t wear shoes in the house but we don’t keep them outside? I’ve never heard of such a thing lol 😂
We take them off at the door on the boot matt and put them away in the closet
Definitely get shoe covers for guest who don’t want to (or can’t due to mobility issues) remove shoes. Or for different contractors or maybe for Chris who’s doing construction upstairs but will need shoes. This is a very hard habit to break and I have made the switch over three years ago.
Addie is such a little Jess, not just looks, the personality too. I just got “house shoes” because sometimes you want to make dinner with shoes and don’t want the dirt in the house
I am not a doctor but I am diagnosed with ADHD and know quite a bit about it and I really don’t think he has it. He teacher would definitely notice things if he had it and he seems to be able to pay attention pretty well. I would get a diagnoses before reading into things.
True, I would only make changes if there was a diagnosis of ADHD. We made similar changes.
Umm we only see a glimpse of their life … and who says the teacher hasn’t said something .
There are 3 different types of ADHD, one is the inattentive , which I have. Please stop spreading incorrect information. It causes people to suffer and not get diagnosed. I did not find out I had it until my 40’s because of this.
I also have adhd and so do both my siblings. He very clearly struggles with paying attention and I beleive he has ADHD. His school teachers have already raised the issue to Jessica in the past, so your point there is redundant. I think she should be taking him to a doctor instead of cutting out red dyes though 🙄
@@hutchyyy6444agreed, Dyes don’t “get rid” of ADHD, they just make the symptoms less severe. We haven’t cut out dyes completely, but we tend to use everything in moderation..
I grew up in a large family (family of ten) and we also never wore shoes inside the house. The way we did it was that my mom placed a mat at the front door inside the house. So whenever we come in we take our shoes off and we can leave them there for the day. And then at night we would have to take our shoes and either take them to our rooms and put them on a rack there. Or leave them on this huge rack we had in the laundry room.
Hopefully this can give you some ideas to make it easier for this transition!!!
I just have a shoe rack next to my front door, and everyone who comes over knows I don't want them wearing shoes in my apartment 😂 Growing up we never had a rule about not wearing shoes in the house, and I think that made me as an adult want to implement that rule for my own home
FYI!!! Stores like Traders Joes and Aldi do not sell any food with red dye in it! They are not allowed to! so might want to look into those stores!!
I can’t believe how much Kaden looks like Ben
Twins! Literally 😮
Trader Joe’s will be your best friend for buying foods with no dyes in it 😍 I wouldn’t leave my shoes outside I would get a rack or something to put by the front door
We wore shoes in the house growing up, but my rule in my house is to take shoes off when we come in. We put them in the closet by the front door. I wouldn't leave them outside because of bugs getting inside and also, I've heard it can wear the glue in shoes down faster with the temperature/weather changes. I'm not sure if it's true, but 🤷🏻♀️
In my house as a Canadian, we’ve always had a mat for our shoes!! ❤🫶🏻 To me it seems the most comfortable
Do you have a mudroom shoes could go?Could help the porch continue to look cleaned up
Since you're remodeling and building in your house, build a mudroom. Leaving shoes outside its very dangerous especially with kids since they dont have any precautions or just simply leave them at the entrance (inside) of the house.
Love the changes that your making. Setting goals for yourself is so good. My goal this year is to eat more healthy and work out more.
I just watched the new vlog and can't believe the girls are doing dance and hope they enjoy it and I love how Addie did her makeup.
Always wear some sort of footwear in the house and must - plantar fasciitis is no joke. But outdoor shoes come off in the mudroom. Good job on eliminating the red dye! Did that over 15 years ago, and I think it makes a difference.
Addie matched her eyeshadow to her shirt, at 7. HELLO???? At 7, I would put on khaki shorts, a turtle neck, and cowboy boots and think that looked okay😭 I love that Addie likes to express herself through makeup, AND SHES BEEN LIKE THAT since she could hold a lipstick tube😩🥹
So do pedophiles that watch this channel daily.
Try purple cat shirt with rainbows and green rose pattern pants with frozen light blue shoes 💀💀 AT 10 😭😭
I actually gagged when I saw that picture. Crazy how much something can change in only 7 years. I wouldn’t be caught dead in any of that.
Yes because she sees other girls her age or especially older doing these routines on social media including shopping at Sephora, all with Stanleys and wantiing Lululemon. That is next if its not already. It is actually scary because it is primarly 4th and 5th graders not 7 years old. Yikes.
Love yall are so kind and sweet i have been watching yall for so long and i am glad i chose to watch yall
I'm all for no shoes in the house but are mud rooms not a thing in Cali? You don't leave your shoes outside, they stay in the mudroom/entry way so you don't have to worry about bugs or critters getting in them or if it's cold or rainy them getting wet, etc. If you leave Crocs outside they can shrink in the heat. Look into a couple storage benches or cubbies to keep by the door inside. You can keep the mess contained to the entryway but you don't have to worry about your shoes being out in the elements.
I am trying to cut out sugar! It causes inflammation- especially in my back, since I have my herniated disc issues and so far it’s been helping!
And I’m trying to work out more to help with my health
With the removing of red dye from diet also try to find replacements similar too the product without the red dye or have the option of swap 🙂 of something that is a healthier version just a suggestion and for shoes rather than outside have a designated shoe rack near the door inside so that you can avoid bugs and spiders I think of Japanese apartments in Japan that have a designated area just as you come in the door just a friendly thought 🤔😊 of options 🙂
It's not just red dyes, it's all of them. They all affect neuro divergent people differently. Not to mention the links to a variety of cancers. If you think about it, artificial dyes are banned worldwide except here in the US.
That is probably a good idea in general, has she actually ever thought of getting him diagnosed with anything from a doctor?
@@Kieran113She did have him formally diagnosed when he was younger if in not mistaken
I do not allow shoes in my home,They come off as soon as we walk in the door,If the maintenance workers have to come in our apartment,I have shoe covers on our shoe bench,I even have a sign on our door no shoes allowed please use shoe covers & they don't have a problem with it.
In Canada no one wears shoes in the house. It’s considered bad hygiene culturally and red dye in food is illegal. More natural forms of dye are used.
Sorry but you have way too many gathering and parties with many people coming over so that probably won’t last long. 😅 But I’m glad you’re trying it. I’ve always had this rule absolutely NOBODY comes in my house with shoes on. Good luck with Chris though because I don’t think I never see him without shoes lol
Hope everyone is doing good sending prayers for everyone
In the uk we generally don't ever wear shoes inside, we wear either slippers or socks. But we don't leave shoes outside, we take them off in hallway normally
The red 40 thing I have heard mixed opinions on this for years and years and I think it’s crazy how much of that stuff is in you eat/drink and even what you don’t eat or drink it every where and I hope your kids and other family members adjust well to the new change
will you go more in-depth on the attic plz I would love to see the renovation process as it happens and you finally reveal what is happening in the attic I wanna know so badly 🙏🏼🙏🏼🙏🏼
That flashback clip... HOLY MOLY!! it was little you and little Kayden! Ben and Kayden are twins!!!!!
My husband is allergic to most food coloring, and it's been a journey! Luckily, lots of companies have been switching over to natural dye.
Body armor is a good switch from other sports drinks.
Sweet tart ropes are a great switch for gummy candy.
Supernatural food coloring has good alternatives food dye.
Keep an eye out in condiments, drinks, jams, and even ramen noodles can have coloring in them.
You will be amazed at all the things that have food coloring!!
I also noticed the fruit by the foot at Costco has natural coloring, but my grocery store has the same fruit by the foot brand, but they have red 40 in them. So weird!
For the red dye 40 if your cutting cold turkey for one you should do it for all. Not fair to one and single him out.
They make really nice shoe storage things that just look like a cabinet that you could put inside the entry way. That way you dont have to worry about spiders & bugs going in their shoes outside.
I am allergic to red dye 40. Any kind of cold medication with it or food or drink make me have a chronic stomachache with vomiting and getting dizzy lasts about a week for me. It's not that hard to cut it out of your diet honestly.
Do you have Aldi in your part if CA? Aldi brand products are completely dye free!
There's only a few places that have Aldi in the US. Aldi is known to be in Germany, the UK and probably other parts of Europe
My family doesn’t use artificial colors we use organic colors that come from plants if you have a hole Foods or a trater joes they have really good stuff without the artificial colors and if you are looking for organic make up Pacifica and Burt’s bees is a great choice hope this helps
One thing I can recommend about your skin care - put the products in your hands to put them on your face. If you are prone to acne like I am, touching your applicators to your face and then putting them back in the bottle can contaminate the products.
red dye may not affect everyone or in the same way but its worth trying.
I have a rack with individual cubes for most of our shoes. They don’t get lost or mixed up that way. Boots and such have a rack on the front porch.
Hey! Love your videos! You should make a video of all your intros throughout the years!
Everyone has to take their shoes off at the door. We can't leaveh our shoes outside heee in the winter, or else your feet would freeze after putting your shoes on after being outside in freezing temperatures. 😂😂
Personally - I wouldn’t want to store shoes outside - you have weather, humidity, bugs, rodents, what have you that will ruin them. What I would do is set up good shoe storage in the entryway and shoes don’t go beyond that point.
Check for spiders and bugs in your shoes before you put them on if you leave them outside! We don't take our shoes off anymore since we have dogs and it's kind of redundant. But when we did, we had a shelf inside at the front door. You could do a cubby for each if they have a lot of shoes.
Remember the red dye is even in cold medicine my niece is doing this with her 5 year old no red die and you can so tell when she has it good luck with the school because its not an allergy they won't help she has to bring her own snacks and lunch
Jess, you're not alone! I legit had a post-it note with the skincare steps on my bathroom mirror for like a year before I figured it out and started remembering on my own. 😂
We have a bench with cubby’s right by the front door. But it’s inside. It makes it nice because you are never finding their shoes either they are all in one place.
I ageee with 90% of the comments, not outside. Keep it in a bin or something, bugs and weathering will get to the shoes.
Red dye use to comes from crushed bettles , there are lots of things in food and drink that you really do not want to know about, but hope it helps him x
Dear jess fam myself and my son watch your vlogs he is ADHD and we have cut out red dye 40 and made a bit of difference he is so excited to hear kids dance as he just started gymnastics and dance and thinks it just for girls as he was being teased at school so we watched older videos when your boys were in dance hope you have a wonderful day we are in northern Ontario Canada
Red die is a real thing. My son is 19 with ADHD and still cuts out the red die because it makes him to hyper.
What is the best cat products of anything I’m thinking of getting a black and white cat and naming her rayven Love y’all ❤️ 💕 💗
I live in Canada
We as a country typically don’t wear shoes in the house
But we don’t leave shoes outside
We have shoes racks in the entry way
Same! We’ve always worn our shoes in the house. I’ve tried sooooo many times to get the family on board with not wearing inside but they just ignore it 😫 so I clean the floors almost everyday…
do your research on red dye! a lot of “simply” brands have no dye also pretty much all of aldi foods are dye free as well
Jesss Aldi the grocery store has all dye free items it’s a great place to shop for snacks for the kids
I love this fam so much ❤❤
jess I highly recommend you use spf after moisturizer because every dermatologist will tell you how important it is to wear spf everyday on your face and if you don't you're essentially throwing your skincare down the drain!
also idk if I would leave your shoes outside because bugs could crawl in them or the weather might make them cold. I would just have some sort of entryway for your kids to take off and put on shoes
Ahh the tease of your secret is killing me!! Can't wait to hear it! (Please don't make us wait too long 😢) lol
I think they're getting a dog 🙊
@@punksinreflection1agreed. I think it’s either a dog or they decided to try and reverse Chris’s vasectomy and try for another baby
I was thinking maybe adopting since she had mentioned it while she was visiting her uncle in NY.
@@punksinreflection1Absolutely not. They’re too busy for a dog. Also she said she’s never seen herself doing whatever it is so it’s something they’re doing and not getting.
@@Sarbear212I think it’s fostering to adopt as well. Which I would not recommend for her family. Their schedules, the amount of kid, and that it overwhelming. A dog is a possibility.
Your like the best mom ever I wish I had. Mom like you my mom died when I was six
In my house we keep the shoes in the house, but we when we get ready we put them on when we’re outside (we carry them out and put them on).. maybe that will help
Omg that old video of you looks exactly like Addie and Kaden!
That is what i was thinking!
we have a bench where all the kid book bags good by the door and all their shoes go straight to the cubes in it.
Don't keep them outside, have a designated spot for everyone's shoes inside. Like by the front door or wherever you enter the house the most. An animal may take them or bugs get into them.
Once everyone gets in the habit of leaving taking shoes off, it will be automatic. They will do it at other people’s homes as well. We have a shelf in the garage for shoes. It will really help to preserve your floors and furniture. Gravel stuck in a shoe tread can cause unbelievable damage to floors and furniture.
In Canada, wearing shoes inside is absolutely not a thing but in the US, I feel like most people do. This said, we have entry ways where we leave our shoes. We don’t literally leave them outside. Haha We just don’t wear them around the house.
No leaving all the shoes outside in Australia🇦🇺🇦🇺🇦🇺 they would have spiders in them 🕷🕸
You have spiders bigger than my head too!
Yes we can do , some huge ones yet the larger ones are mostly harmless🕷🕷
Dyes in food don’t do that much with people who have adhd because I have it and it doesn’t change anything with me
Is it true Tommy moved back with his mom?
no i don’t think where have you heard that?
@@abstractcollections A lot of people are speculating so I’m just wondering lol
I was just wondering the same because school break is over and no sight of him
@@MelDiaz1995 he probably is there because christmas is over so he won’t be with his mom. he just might not want to be filmed all the time like the other kids
Yay for exciting changes 🤍
Oh my word this suspense is gonna be I can’t wait to figure out what your secret is
We take our shoes off as soon as we walk in the door. I have a mat right beside the door. You can wear slippers or flip flops ( that don't go outside).
I love Addie she's so cute
The whole beginning of 5his video was an add!! lol love it!
Red dye 40 and yellow dye 5 are so bad for you. Not only does it cause hyperactivity it has cancer causing substances. I cut them out of my families’ diet last year once I found out they were banned in a lot of countries. I shop a lot at aldis their brand doesn’t have any food dyes or artificial additives. And ALDIs brand is a lot cheaper! 😄
My family is a shoes in the house family. The part that’s annoying is that we have carpet and a lot of burrs. I am a NO shoes in the house person. And I always step on the burrs. They hurt so bad. Especially since some of them are literally like small spiky pebbles. They aren’t even like plants at that point. They are literal rocks. And I’m the only one who steps on them cuz I’m the only person who’s not wearing shoes. When I move out definitely going to be a no shoes household 🥲🥲
Spiders snakes and centipedes uhhh not a good idea Jess!lol 😅
@jessfam i cant find the link to the simliar gold make up box in the video
Hi Jesssfam happy Thursday afternoon and just wanted to say that you all amazing Supporter
I’ve always wore shoes in my house too and then recently my mom did the same thing. No more shoes In the house. You don’t realize how dirty they are
I promise you it’s way easier than you think to find alternatives for the red dye. So many good brands that aren’t too expensive that offer great options. Also! Just a friendly tip, beware of all dyes!
Tip for the elastics....lemon essential oil is also a great way to get those rubber bands out of hair. Might be a less stressful solution if addie insists on doing it herself more.
When I was a kid my mom tried to keep the red dye out of my diet. Turns out I am allergic to two medications which have orange glue in them. I didn’t find out until I was over 40. T sort of makes sense. My reaction is hives to the orange dye.
I wear my crocs in the house, but thats because I have sensory issues. Tennis/work shoes shoes come off asap when I get home, and we have a shoe/jacket closet at the front of our house.
I think the shoe thing is cultural. I guess, it also depends on what type of floors you have - like carpet is much harder to clean than wooden floors or tiling. For me it is normal to have tile floors in the common areas, where you also have guests, so I would never ask guests to remove their shoes. In the "private" bed rooms there is carpet, so I naturally take my shoes off before going there. It's so weird, cause I actually never thought about it until this video. 😂😂
Just have a place in side the entrance to leave shoes. We have a shoe rack in the house when we walk in. That way you don’t walk outside with no shoes.
I get that she likes makeup, but when she’s older she’s gonna regret it because all those chemicals/extras are gonna mess up her skin.
Keep shoes inside otherwise they get wet, mould, spiders, bugs etc. get a mat for the front door and a shoe cupboard for the front door or in the laundry or even for out the front.
Red dye and yellow dye both affect adhd in children. I have 2 children with add and adhd and we have been trying our best to cut out red dye and yellow dye. There are many different names for both dyes so please be careful and definitely look up the names
get a shoe rack as a Canadian we generally don't wear outside shoes indoors but take them off as soon as we come inside we don't leave them outside unless they are muddy
Pro tip: if you don’t care about keeping the elastics after, I just use a curling wand and burn them off 😂
Dab some lemon juice on the elastics and it will break them!
Early I love your videos ❤
Ohhh that’s y my friend is always super hyper when she has skittles (she has was diagnosed with adhd)
Also the no shoes in the house or well passed the front door is a necessity rule I’m a Asian house hold 😂
In my house we have a small mud room when you come into the door where we put out shoes, coats, bags, etc.
You need to deep dive into chemicals in cleaners, soaps, and more. I haven't used Clorox (all cleaners) in 6 years and it's life changing! Also, look into water do a water test! Congrats on the new changes.
The only time I don’t have my Crocs on (I only wear Crocs but not just the clogs) is in bed. I even have a dedicated pair of flip flops for the shower. I have severely hooked heel spurs, and having them operated on would make them worse. Crocs are the only shoes I can wear that don’t make my feet hurt. 🙂🐈🐈⬛💖🌈
EARLY!!!! i love you jessica
