I met someone new, got married, had twin boys (Kyson & Kaden) and another son (Landen). He cheated, we split ways, & he’s not around much. As a child with a split family with different parenting styles, thank you for always picking up your kids when they are scared!! That is amazing and help them feel safe even when you are not with them!! .... On a different note when cats bring you dead things It's their way of showing you how to hunt because they think you need help.

Super proud of Landen to tell you he wasn’t comfortable . Our 18 year old had a similar situation last year at school she just wasn’t comfortable and couldn’t put her finger on why . I’m proud of our kids for reaching out even when things are hard . It shows tremendous growth .

I had to collect my children from an access visit at midnight too, my daughter called saying she didn’t feel comfortable and wanted to leave straight away. Her brothers felt the same, so I went and collected them of course. Turns out he had broken the orders and had his mates there too… strange men … not okay, they have never tried staying again. Once was it and he messed it up, even during day visits I collect them what called.

Where were landen and kaiden staying in the night?
The fact that your kids know that you will come get them no matter what if they are uncomfortable is amazing. As they grow older, that trusting relationship is going to be crucial. One thing my parents have done right is let us know that no matter what they will always be there when we need them. In any situation, even if we messed up, they were always there. I think you're instilling that into your kids and it is truly a great thing. You're doing an AMAZING job Jess and Chris. Keep doing what you're doing.
To be one of the “fans” that have been here since Lilias birth I’ve seen everything you’ve shown us on here especially with the twins and Landon’s dad.. it’s sad to see he hasn’t made any improvements but it is good to see they know they can call you no matter the time or situation and you’ll be there for them.
To be honest you only see her side of things. No one really knows why happens behind the camera

Can I say how impressed I am for you being so proactive in trying to have the boys have a relationship with their birth dad? For the haters out there, IYKYK, they don’t want to see the good you do. The way you react when one of them call and say they want to come home, you don’t pressure them to stay. That’s one thing I love about you. Keep on doing you, I think you have it mastered!

Yes , my first thought was exactly the same. Always try to encourage a relationship with the other parent. There are clearly two very different parenting styles and children are very different as to what they feel as well.
I agree I think it's important because if she doesn't the boys could resent her as they get older.
As a long time fan who has seen the boys’ birth father for what he is, im glad they have you and chris. You guys are real champs for being as great as you are in not only raising 7 kids, but keeping their respective parents in their lives. Drake can talk all he wants about you, but you are the parents those kids need and thankfully have.
The way Landon was cuddling with Chris in the booth at Two Chicks was everything!! He needed the love and comfort y'all give him and that wasn't happening at his dad's. Proud that he gave it a try and so glad y'all were local and he wasn't trapped in the uncomfortable situation!! ♥️♥️
Did you catch what Landon said when they picked him up? His bio dad gets mad and yells at him when he calls his mom. I would have lost my shit on that dirt bag. 😤
I deal with what Jessica experienced . My dad divorced when I was little . But my step dad like Chris is my constant . Has been in my life since I was little
I feel as If kaden has such a traumatic experience that he declines everytime and this might be landen’s. I feel like Kyson is trying so hard to have a relationship with his dad but sadly it’ll get to the point in where none of them will want to stay overnight and that’s sad because now that he’s further it makes it even harder. I just hope the dad doesn’t blame Jess for all this.

Something is very OFF if Kaden refuses to go and Landen is terrified and wants to leave.
I don’t know if Drake is still with his girlfriend but when they first started visiting, there were problems between Jess’s kids and the girlfriend’s kid(s). Obviously there could be other things that Jess or Kaden don’t share on UA-cam, but Kaden stopped wanting to go or at least stopped wanting to go for long periods pretty quickly after the visits started.
Seeing how my nieces are when they go to their dads I can definitely agree but also consider the age they could be completely safe there but I see it has their comfort is with their mom because of how the custody is my sister has full custody of the kids and I see them act differently around the time they go to their dads. Also my oldest niece who is six has no contact with her dad he gave his rights away when she was three months old it was a dumb high school relationship the younger two are from my sisters previous marriage and they go see him once a month and they have every reason to not want to go he is not a good man he verbally and physically abused my sister I have witnessed it so it’s scary when they start freaking out and don’t want to go over to his house. Again they could be safe over there but think about what guardian are they with more then 50% it also could just be that 🤷🏻♀️
Ever since he was little he was scared and when he went for the first time Jessica had to pick him up because he was uncomfortable and scared.

I can't believe Drake thought he could get away with telling a child off for calling their Mom when they're scared. If that was me, as much as I would want my child to have a relationship with their birth father, their birth father telling them off for calling me when they weren't OK would be the end of visits at their birth father's home until my children were old enough to walk out & get help away from their birth father. Like the saying, anyone can be a father, but it takes someone special to be a Dad. Drake has shown a huge red flag when it comes to trusting him to take care of your kids.
i was a child of a split household and had to see my dad every fortnight, and it is so comforting that you are willing to take your child out of a situation they do not feel safe in. my mum did the same thing for me and it honestly means so much looking back. also super proud of landen for being able to reach out to u
I’m so happy the older boy was helping his younger brother so much just trying to make him more comfortable and it breaks my heart their dad yelled at him for not being comfortable and I’m happy he told his mom anyway ❤️❤️❤️
I love how right when the boys were picked up chris made sure to see if they ate and checked on them and how Jess went right to making sure he was just ok and felt better.

My mom always came to get me during sleepovers in the middle of the night when I called and as an adult it means more to me because I’ve always know if I call her she’ll come and I can honestly say she’s my best friend and I love that your kids can do that with you ❤️
That’s what my mother always did for me as well, and I agree, it definitely means even more to me as an adult. No matter what time it was or what reason I gave, she would always come to get me without any hesitation, pressuring or questions or making me feel bad for calling her. If I ever felt even the slightest bit uncomfortable, I knew she would always be there. I’m always so happy when I see that Jess’ children feel comfortable enough to always call her when they feel uncomfortable or upset, and that she drops everything to go and get them without hesitation or making them feel badly about it. That’s an invaluable quality for a child to have in a parent, and I feel so lucky and blessed to have had that in my own mother, and to still have that as an adult, to know she will always be there for me no matter what. She will always be my forever best friend, and I couldn’t thank God enough for her.
That’s how it is with my mom as well! And now as an adult she’s still always there for me and is my best friend.

I’ve been watching you for years and watching all the ups and downs with their father. Gosh I can’t imagine what you are feeling as a mama. Honestly Idk how you do I’m a single mom and my daughter father isn’t involved you do an outstanding job trying your best with a pretty shitty situation. At the end of the day just be proud of yourself for all your doing! those boys are so loved and protected by not only you but their real dad - Chris. Family is not always blood and those little boys are certainly loved by the both of you ❤️
My mom always came and got me whenever I called her. No matter where I was or how far I was. At 27 she will still do this for me. And has many times in my adult life come when I called in the middle of the night. It's so amazing ur doing this for ur kids, showing them they can always count on u

That's probably why Kayden didn't want to go, and seeing Landon scared crying to then all happy next Chris, shows he only needs Chris as a dad.
Chris is really a god sent for the tweens and Landen. obviously is a different game for lilia as her bio dad is as we know. i think Landen feels Chris more like his dad than his bio dad as Chris came when Landen was very little like before 1 or so

Chris is an amazing guy you can see the Love between him and Landon way to step up Dad. It is nice seeing a truly blended family you all make my heart happy to see the love that you share with one another
I don’t normally comment, but my mom used to refuse to get me from sleep overs when I’d call crying as a kid, or at my dads house. Used to scream at me for waking her. So thank you for being their safety net. And for listening to them 🥺❤️
The stuff with their dad (for the sake of the kids when they are older)should be kept offline. Keep those issues between the parents and just co-parent.
Her kids always have a day of what’s online and offline. And sometimes posting things like this can give others going trough the same thing insight on ways to handle it.
Also a child with divorced parents and two different ways of life at each house seeing another family with life that I have feels so good to see thank you for always sharing with the fans
You can see how much the boys love chris. He has been there for them through everything, and thats what kids remember. Landon also has a special bond with Chris.

I was in this situation growing except the rolls were reversed, whenever I felt uncomfortable with my mum I knew my dad was always a call away no matter the distance he had to travel. You are an amazing mum Jess keep doing what you’re doing beautiful 💕

When my parents separated I was 5, my dad moved 5 hours away and I was exactly the same!! I cried so much and just wanted to come home because it was so weird and scary. Bless him 🥺

This hit hard for me, growing up with split parents hurts. I remember stealing my dads cell phone to call my mom in the middle of the night to come pick me and getting in trouble for calling her. My dad will tell my mom I was a liar, of course my mom wouldn’t believe him. Proud of you mama💗 your kids love you so much

i love how you always give your kids a choice. i had to go to my dads house and if i didn’t want to my mom would get mad and say i was ruining her alone time. it truly shows how much you love your kids.
I'm so sorry your Mom put you through that. That's not OK. My Mum was like that to me with other things, so I know the pain you went through. Go easy on yourself, it will still be affecting you now, even in situations when you don't realise.

This happened to my sister and I. I called my mom and she raced toward us no matter what. Jess, smart move on your part for staying.
In years to come whether the boys have a good/bad/ indifferent or no relationship with their dad they will know you always gave them the choice, you listened to them, reasoned with them, never immediately dropped everything first and went running but when nothing else was working you went for them. With two clearly different styles in parenting there will always be a few issues and children are very different as well in what they need and or expect. It is also very difficult when living so far apart that you can't just drop them off on a morning and pick them up after tea. As it seems that it's the sleeping over part that generally causes the upset.
Children should always be given a choice and encouraged to see the other parent when possible (obviously not if it isn't safe of course but even then often with supervision it can be done). Otherwise kids get to an age and it can back fire and they think "you stopped me from seeing them", "you only said negative things and poisoned my mind.". They need to be the judge for themselves generally and by communicating openly and advocating for them when necessary they will develop emotionally well regarding relationships. Honesty and trust are essential for kids to feel safe. They have with that with you for sure.

Jess whenever I used to get motion sickness it was from looking down in the car and reading . The only thing that would help when I would get nauseous and dizzy would be smelling hand sanitizer??!!! Weird but it works !!! Take the Dramamine as a precautionary but just in case you still do smell hand sanitizer or anything with a alcohol smell

When I was 11 I went to Ohio with my best friends . First time ever leaving my mom/dad.. I had super bad home sickness I couldn’t stop crying almost the whole trip, but I couldn’t go home til they did and it was 7 or so hours away!

i hated being not with my parents especially with my mom I’m an adult now and i still get that way when they go on trips of anywhere without me and its such a stupid thing. i guessing it’s because i was sheltered and babied a lot as a kid/adult being the youngest out of the 2 of us. Landon you’re not alone. hoping dad yelling wasn’t for any mean/control thing because thats effed up. glad to know he’s feeling better and you can feel this way no matter your age. ❤️

Today is my first day of summer because I had summer classes all summer, right when yall's summer is ending. I've never personally been through the step parent, split parent dynamic. My nephew is though, he goes to his dad's every other weekend and when he was 8 he would kick and scream because he didn't want to be there. The mom took him anyway. Now he is 11 and still goes to his dad's but everytime he comes back he is a different kid for a few days, acts out, has a big attitude.
Im really glad to see you don't force those boys or the relationship. I love that they feel like they can call you at anytime and you'll help them.

Jess your babies have reason to feel this way especially if he hasn't been the best dad. You should maybe set a recording device on one of the boys (one time) to hear or see what is making them so uncomfortable.

My daughter is the exact same she needs some to either lay down next to her or sit in the room with her while she falls asleep. Some nights she will say I'm ok you can go now but most of the time I don't leave her room until she is asleep. She used to stay overnight at her dad's but he would complain that she wouldn't go to sleep for him etc. I explained how I do her bed time routine which is pretty standard I feel like, shower, pjs, book(s) and sleep. I said I sit with her even if it's on the floor by the door until she's either asleep or comfortable but he refused to do it. He said she could just go to sleep after books and lights out. She sleeps with a night light, I brought a second one for his house in hopes it would help her but nope she kept saying he would walk out and shut the door and she was scared as she wasn't used to the house. So I stopped overnights, maybe when she is older and doesn't need someone to sit with her they can start again but at the end of the day she needs to feel safe and secure and I refuse to allow her to feel scared and uncomfortable especially at bed time. The other parents just don't understand sometimes and it's sad they can't just help their child feel safe and secure even if it's not how they normally parent.

Secondly our cat used to bring the rats and eat the heads only apparently the vet told me they won’t eat the rest because the rat may have consumed baits or poison of some description smart animals so they don’t go near the stomach. Gross but cool. Sending loads of love leisa Western Australia xxx

Honestly my oldest son (5) has recently been telling me he doesn't wanna see his dad (a few months prior he asked to stop seeing his dad's grandparents)
And I told them they had to respect his decisions. (There's been quite a few broken promises made to my son and he says his dad doesn't listen to him) but I do ask him if he wants to see his father or the grandparents offen so he knows the offer to see them is still there. It's hard to tell someone like sorry he's staying home but I have to respect his boundaries and what he wants. So I feel as long as I'm still encouraging him to see them but he decides not too and I've not pressured him not to see them then it's all good and I'm advocating his wants and needs and he's my first priority not there feelings about it.
(I'm just so not a confrontational person but ill be that person for my kids in a heartbeat)

Dad gets upset because they are his blood and he believes they should automatically be comfortable there. But as a child of divorced parents where my Dad was barely in the picture...I was scared to death sometimes and so uncomfortable even though I truly wanted to try every time he could see me. Now that I am older, I get it. He still is not there and we are friends more than father and daughter and that is all it really is. I am thankful he wants to be in my life but also never going to have that relationship with him like I do with my step Dad. He just was not there and expects too much from me when I am even to this day. The difference is, I tell him no as an adult and he takes it better.
