tip for Lilia if they haven't already read or seen the outsiders. Read the book / watch the movie before seeing the musical it helps support and gives you background to the characters of the musical.
I cheered for 10 years and my daughter cheered competitively for 12 years. Although it’s very demanding those years are times neither one of us will ever forget so Addie will make a lifetime of memories with her different teams. I know you’ve been a dance mom so you have experience in the crazy but being a competitive cheer mom is another level of crazy.
My daughter went to Washington with our band in April and she had a blast. Lillia will love it. It’s only a 10 hour trip for us bc we live in Georgia so I sympathize with you. It’s hard to let them go without a parent. It’s a long way for you though. I hope she has a great time
I totally feel you I love gymnastics so naturally I put my boys in gymnastics and they liked it and enjoyed it but when my boys found their own sports that they absolutely fell in love with it’s crazy it fills your heart in a whole new way
i was a club soccer player and i suffered with osgood shlatter in both knees and attended physical therapy for a few months, but what really helped me was keeping on the 20 min on and off heat and ice!!
I just finished the new vlog and hope you guys have a great Monday evening and night with the kids and hope Kyson is feeling better soon and praying for him and hope Lilia enjoys her trip to DC and also hope Addie enjoys doing cheer and can't believe Lilia is graduate from 8th grade and hope she enjoys high school and also hope you Jess had a wonderful belated Mother's day.
my sister is a competitive gymnast and she had osgood schlatter in both knees, it really bothered her for the best part of a year and one thing that really helped was icing her knees after each training session once she went back. It stopped hurting as once she stopped growing and got worse during growth spurts, but it is absolutely fine now, still has the lumps under her kneecap which don’t go away without surgery but other than that she is back to normal and still able to compete as normal! Hope Kyson’s knee starts feeling better soon! 🫶🫶
i have it in both knees, but i never out grew it and still get alot of pain, which sucks but lucky most people dont have any long term issues, apart from bumps
Just a heads up! You probably won’t see this but I went with my class to New York this year during short term and we had a blast!! I know Lilia will have so so much fun!! We actually went to see the Outsiders Musical in New York and it was so much fun! Note: this is a newer musical and we went to one of the first performances, however it was nothing but great!! I will definitely want to see pictures and clips from her trip!! Safe travels and have fun!!🎉🎉🎉
I also went to DC for my eighth grade trip back in 2015! If it’s with Ef tours it’s gonna be soo fun! Let her know she has EF ultimate break to look forward to! This trip really opens your eyes to traveling the world! I just went to Paris and London with EF this last summer! Goodluck to her! And safe travels!!
I have Osgood slaters in my knees and my foot I do cheer and have to stick through all the pain it hurts so bad I know what he feels like, also puppies hugs do make everything feel better. Also chicken and Rice hit different
I have the same thing at he does! I’ve delt with it when running since I was 14, I no longer do sports but still have this issue sometimes. Only thing that helps is ibuprofen/tylenol for pain
I went across the country without my phone for a school trip my junior year of HS. Lilia will have an amazing time! Make sure she has books for the plane! Mine didn’t have t.v.s so I had to sit in silence & read for 6 hours😂.
My sister would get lagoon slaters in her arm as a softball pitcher, what really helped was icing it after every practice/game. Every single one. The pain went away and never came back put she stayed consistent with icing.
I used to get those in both my shoulders and my knees. Softball and soccer did it. I practically lived with ice packs on my right knee and my right shoulder for about a year:
My daughter and son both had the same issue with the knees, competitive softball basketball and baseball. Get a band. You'll find them everywhere with braces, compression sleeves, ect. It will give extra support to the tendons and ligaments. Worked well for my kiddos. 😊
I went on a trip in 8th grade to DC but I live in NY so we rode a bus for 4 hours to get there. It was so fun and it was the first time I went on a trip without my parents and i had the time of my life it is a core memory. I would just be nervous with all the protests going on right now
poor kyson! id recommend stretches for his knee daily, at least once but twice is ideal, that helped me! and thats so exciting for Lilia! im from the DMV area (dc, maryland, virginia), she is going to have so much fun! but remember: our weather is alot different then california! example: our 80/90s feels hotter then the west coast due to how the humidity is here, (it sucks lol!) but she really is going to have so much fun!!
I had Osgood Schlatter disease too, but mine was from gymnastics. The best for me was to rest and give my knee some time to heal. Hopefully he gets better!
my 8th grade trip was nyc, i didn't go since i already went. Live 4 hours away. Never traveled/flew alone as a child but my dad and aunties did growing up in Europe. Went to dc for the first time as an adult last year.
You might want to think about having a booster in your vehicles for addie. Shes legal to be out of the booster, but the belt fit on her neck is quite dangerous if you were in a collision. Instead of the belt being on the strong breast and collar bones its riding on her neck. Google 5 step car seat test for graduating safely from a booster.
Jesss i had horrible knee issues as a kid and didnt get diagnosed with rheumatoid arthritis till an adult um my best piece of advice is to please take him out of sports for now let his body rest i didnt get a break till i went into fostercare and was finally bussed back n forth to school
I have osgood schlatter and although I don’t randomly get pain the bump never goes away at least for me and so it’s extremely painful to kneel to this day bc it sticks out
My second son had that tendons done not grow as fast as bone ..it started in his ankles then went to his knees ..had a lot of exercises to do and once his tendons caught up it was fine ..he played loads of football and other sport …simple exercises .he had to sit with his back to the wall and stretch out his legs He’s now mid fifties ..so he survived playing football til his late thirties ..
My Junior High School did an Annual 8th grade graduation trip to DC with the History Teachers and some parents and administrators. My mom went with me because she was graduating with her Texas Teacher Certification from college and got to celebrate her graduation besides my graduation while my Dad had to work. So I was in the 8th grade Class of 2010 in Texas
My son has OS and when I called my dad to tell him about it he said he had it as well 🤷♀️ Hope your back feels better . May as well go ahead and start researching a good neurosurgeon in your area just in case . 😐
Hey Jess u guys are not the only one who had Injured something I had Injured my right ankle from a fractured last year and I am back in my walking boot again and it helps but I am back to heal once again and I had Mastered how to walk with it and it's very Comfortable and its abit heavier then a regular cast
I mean I have been putting up with knee pain for the last 6 years and I play Australian football I have never got it checked out in case I have to miss out on a game hahaha. I should get it checked out tho because it hurts every day
omg! I came home from dance practice one day and basically my entire street’s mailboxes were destroyed! i can’t help but wonder how the driver that did it didn’t realize until like mailbox #8 😳
i have the same thing as Kyson in both knees! its so painful. when its sore just rest for a bit (idk how to spell it so im gonna guess its “os good shlatter disease”)
I live near Philadelphia and we went to DC in middle school and high school and I always thought it was just something local states did I didn’t know other states went all the way there too lol
I have had Osgood shlotter since I was 12 years old and I’m 14 I’ll be 15 July 24th but I am just now able to run again with no pain at all I forgot what it was like to run with no pain but it feels so nice to be able to jump on a trapoline and run again
I have that same thing but mine is not from sports my growth plate dissolved completely when I was 12 and it caused my bone to split into a y very painful still at times when I hit it
I think it’s funny you say Addie liked dance but didn’t love it. I definitely by watching her would say she loved it, and Lilia just did it to make you happy. Same with Kyson and Kaden. I feel Kyson loves soccer and Kaden just does it to make you happy. Landen loves it. He loves everything he does it seems lol. Anyways, safe travels for Lilia and hope Kysons knee is better! I noticed the posting was back to normal didn’t know why it was off but thanks for explaining.
My brother has oscar slaughter disease on his knee was how many years of basketball he did he is now 22 and still has problems sometimes just had an bump on his knee
Please be careful with your back I had a bulging disc and every once in a while i would do something to irritated It but thought no big deal until one day I sat down on the toilet to pee I sneezed as I sitting and completely blew my back out. Long story short I had to have emergency surgery and I have permanent nerve damage and my left leg and foot are now partially paralyzed. So I beg Of you please baby your back when need be I would not wish the daily pain I’m in on anyone
My left knee looks exactly like that I’m a figure skater and I was doing an axle and I had fallen out of it smashed my knee dead on onto the ice and I got up because we smash everything on the ice at all times haha and it instantly hurt I knew something was wrong and I couldn’t skate for a couple days I never went to urgent care that was a few months ago and it still looks like this and if I walk for to long it bugs me I think I’ve permanently damaged it 😢
Jess, See if they have a mobile grooming service where they send a van out to you. They groom pets right I. Your driveway. It’s much less traumatic for the pets and you don’t have to go farther than your driveway.
You said that (idk how to spell it. The ligament pain) is something he might grow out of, but you should know I know a man who has it and he never did outgrow it.
tip for Lilia if they haven't already read or seen the outsiders. Read the book / watch the movie before seeing the musical it helps support and gives you background to the characters of the musical.
I’ve read the book and I loved it
I love the outsiders it's one of my favorite books and movies
Im from Australia 🇦🇺, I remember reading that book in year 8 English when I was in high school
Really liked it
Im doing a exam in the outsiders book

Addie saying she thinks it was on purpose has me 😂😂😂
I totally feel you I love gymnastics so naturally I put my boys in gymnastics and they liked it and enjoyed it but when my boys found their own sports that they absolutely fell in love with it’s crazy it fills your heart in a whole new way

Lilia is going to have a great time on her trip. Lilia’s teeth are already showing good progress.
I hope Lilia has fun in D.C.!
I hope she goes to the White House tour it's fun

I have the same thing at he does! I’ve delt with it when running since I was 14, I no longer do sports but still have this issue sometimes. Only thing that helps is ibuprofen/tylenol for pain

I have two bulging disks too. I do PT to push them back in place and it helps a lot
Drop the routine😭
They did that years back a trip to DC! That’s cool they still do. I didn’t get to go but hoping my granddaughter gets to go.

We just finished the outsiders book and it made me cry but tommorow were supposed to watch the movie which I will be gone for sadly due to ear surgery
I had Osgood Schlatter disease too, but mine was from gymnastics. The best for me was to rest and give my knee some time to heal. Hopefully he gets better!

Trampolines are so bad for your joints and ligaments. And those jumpy places. No bueno.
I have osgood schlatter and although I don’t randomly get pain the bump never goes away at least for me and so it’s extremely painful to kneel to this day bc it sticks out
We have sent kids back to Germany when they were teenagers it was stressful but we just payed for extra help for the 1 that was going over
My second son had that tendons done not grow as fast as bone ..it started in his ankles then went to his knees ..had a lot of exercises to do and once his tendons caught up it was fine ..he played loads of football and other sport …simple exercises .he had to sit with his back to the wall and stretch out his legs He’s now mid fifties ..so he survived playing football til his late thirties ..

It’s crazy to me that kids travel across the country to come to DC. I guess I take it for granted that it’s just a short drive from me

I mixed up Addie and Lilia and for a second I thought Addie was graduating gr. 8 😅
How can anyone afford these trips!!!!?
Jess,
See if they have a mobile grooming service where they send a van out to you. They groom pets right I. Your driveway. It’s much less traumatic for the pets and you don’t have to go farther than your driveway.
Hey Jesssfam ❤
You said that (idk how to spell it. The ligament pain) is something he might grow out of, but you should know I know a man who has it and he never did outgrow it.
My son has the same thing and still has it at 31
I had that just ice and rest is better no sports I was a completive gymnast
Keep the mirror and other debris from the car that took out the mailbox. The police can use it to ID the vehicle that hit it.
It’s pronounced OSH-Schlatters disease my daughter got it from Gymnastics she gets flare up every once in awhile
Hey hey famm ouchy his knee, have fun lily in dc
