Ultimate spider-man was my introduction to a lot of marvel characters, I remember liking the series well enough. Though certainly not the best, I still have a soft spot for it.

I loved this show. While it wasn’t my marvel introduction (I watched the super hero squad and other shows), it was my introduction to Spider-Man and what kick started my love of comics and the comic book universe.

Breaking the 4th wall in this series was done for the same reason the movies suit had an AI. Peter needed someone to talk to because in the comics he monologues and talks to himself.

The ultimate spiderman was my introduction to spiderman so I never knew that the forth wall breaks were out of character. I have known that whole story of with great power great responsibility from there I got introduced to most of marvel thanks to that series so I'm thankful for it. To hear there was resentment for saddens me.
Spiderman does actually in the comics break the fourth wall he talks to us in a way but also talks to himself no its not like deadpools but unlike spiderman deadpool is insane.

the reason people were so pissed off is that they canceled a serious, grounded, thoughtful show on a CLIFFHANGER and replaced it with something that was completely opposite
Kinda like what happened to the 90s Spidey series except that show got like 4 or 5 seasons with plenty of characters before they ended it while Spectacular only got 2

Honestly, it ended properly. They had a lot of good arcs, Aunt May found everything out, Peter graduated, and there were no loose ends or cliffhangers (unlike Spectacular Spider-Man). I have no complaints.

Spider-Man never found some of the young heroes on the list taskmaster had, they never continued what astronaut Jameson would have to live like with his new Harry appearance. They could have done a superior Spider-Man story of doc ock turning over a new leaf making himself a new synsthoid body like Kaine and putting himself in it

@@shiningnight12 Ultimate spider man was amazing to me it had so many story arcs that there wasn't in spectacular spiderman the spectacular spiderman had *no* actually arcs every season it just felt like he was fighting a random villain and it wasn't even one villain not even one problem it just felt like multiple problems at once and it felt like there were no arcs at all it was just fighting I never saw the life lessons people are talking about, but ultimate spiderman show had life lessons it had arcs and it was structured it introduced a lot of new marvel fans to different characters and got them introduced to comics ultimate spiderman show deserves its title as ultimate spiderman, yes there could have been more arcs but just like spectacular spiderman it was shut down from stupid people from the 1990s hate and marvels spiderman it could have had a lot of arcs if you people would give it a chance to finish instead of complaining also the spectacular spiderman never finished don't comment or reply "oh it was cancelled" I don't care there was no way that a series like that could have finished because there was no end goal at all he was just fighting, ultimate spiderman actually had a end goal to become a agent of shield, to be a better spiderman so he can protect his friends and aunt may his series did end well so you people need to stop complaining.

For people confused about this post he talking about the comic "Ultimate Spider-man" where Miles originates from. Yes that Peter Parker did die and later found out was a immortal being because of the spider-bite/Oz formula. IMO bendis really jumped the shark when he wrote that part.
@@Nonyabusiness1115 I'll explain as best as I can. So in Miles Morales: Ultimate Spiderman. It was revealed that the Green Goblin survived his fight with Peter, and the serum he used to give himself his Goblin powers made him Immortal, and by the end of the comic Peter Parker the original Ultimate Spiderman came back as well. Next issue picks up with Peter and Miles arguing over if Peter should go see his family again, Miles gets knocked out by him because he wouldn't give him his web shooters and once he wakes up, he goes to Aunt May's place because he knows he's there. Peter explains that he remembers everything up to his death and when he wakes up, he's in an abandoned laboratory in Jersey. So it's implied that people who have the OZ serum in their bloodstream can come back to life, but it's long term so it takes years to do so. But that's how Peter Parker from the ultimate universe came back to life. And then he was killed in the incursion during secret wars 2015, and now the ultimate universe is back...again...
That also means if Miles is killed in the future, then in a few years he'll come back to life. I don't know if this happens once or if it happens for the rest of their lives but it can happen if Miles is killed.

I am one of those few who actually loves Ultimate Spider man. Even after being introduced to spectacular spider man, Ultimate Spider man still remained my favorite. I know it's a one in a million opinion but I just loved Drake Bell's portrayal of the wall crawling hero. (Also wanted to mention I loved the series ever since I was 15 and still love it even now at 17 I love it)
Everybody loved this series except TSSM stans because they want their show back.

This series was my childhood. I loved it so much and was disappointed when it ended. I already loved comic books and it brought Spider-Man a new style. It was fun and whacky, and compared to the other marvel animated TV shows at the time it was great to break things up. I’ll even watch it today just for good memories. Ultimate Spider-Man, always.
This show had a lot of cool ideas, like Harry Osborne becoming Venom, and Spider-Man going from a rookie vigilante to the boss of several superheroes. It even had some great animation for fights. A small, but notable example being the fight with Spider-Man against the symbiote. The problem is that not only did it constantly use gags that sometimes lasted longer than they should've, but barely delved into the material they had. Sometimes they'd even forget plot points they'd established! Remember when Doctor Doom said he was gonna keep an eye on them, implying he was gonna be some massive threat down the line? Or that Jameson's son had become a werewolf and SHIELD was trying to fix him? Me neither. Bottom line was that this show was an ultimate waste of potential.
Oh, God, I've inherited this shows propensity for puns...

I really liked Ultimate Spiderman show. I loved how they added cameos here and there. How they did have Spidy grow just not in the way people were used to.
It was since to see Spidy join the Avengers and realise is that what he really wanted. Then how he took on a mentor role teaching young hero's how to use their powers the right way.
This Peter was meant to be more centered then having to really prove himself all that much. But that's why Furry took Pete in to train him more so he wouldn't struggle.
It was a nice twist giving MJ the carnage symbiot and becoming Spider woman and implanting the idea in Peter's head will be he a hero forever. Which was kind of late in the show to do that. I believe ultimate would have still been on if it wasn't for the fact that Disney wanted Spidy to match the MCU Spidy a little more.
So they did another reboot but this time taking the stuff people loved from Spectacular and Ultamate and making something new.
Ultamate had one major flaw that it originally connected with eartha mightest hero's Avengers. But then they did the reboot and started all over with Avengers assemble they added it to ultimate acting like it was always that way.
Ultimate Spider-Man wasn't ever connected with Earth's Mightest Heroes.
It was never connected to earths mightiest heroes, drake bell just played him in both shows
@@ahmadkhalaf8952 exept Cap and the other heros would cameo in ultimate Spiderman. Wolverine and Spidey knew each other in the episode when a new avngers team was made to fight Kang. When they made the new avngers show instead of doing more of earths mightiest heroes they changed the interactions peter had with the avngers.
Same goes for that last season of Avngers when Kamala joined the team and Spiderman got rebooted. They acted like it was the first time they meet. Same goes for the guardians of the galaxy. In ultimate Spiderman we see the serious ones. The similar group that was in mightiest heroes. Then assemble happened and they used the guardian of the galaxy series. Yet peter teamed up and joined the assemble avngers.
Most likely they just did cameo stuff wanting to make a bigger story. But had to keep adjusting based on reboots.

Avengers: Earth's Mightest Heroes and X-Men and the Wolverine are in one continuity. Ultimate Spider-Man, Avengers Assemble, Hulk and the Agents of SMASH, Guardians of the Galaxy are in one continuity. The Guardians in all those shows are expect the costume was just changed. Avengers: Black Panther's Quest, Guardians of the Galaxy: Mission Breakout! and Marvel's Spider-Man are in one continuity.

My favourite was the first two seasons when Spider man had to learn all the trials and tribulations of leading a group of mismatched heroes into becoming a well balanced team. I loved the dynamics and relationships between them. I felt after the second season they introduced too many new characters too fast but I still loved it. Definitely one of my favourite cartoons.

I'm 19 and still go back to it when i miss it! Everyone loves to belittle this show just because it isn't like in the comics or the 4th wall break is "lame". Ok nerds, cry over your perfect comics while i enjoy myself and appreciate this series packed with amazing animation, fight scenes, GREAT jokes and all of that! I'm in love with this show's light-hearted feel, which everyone seems to despise these days because "scary and serious is cool"

I loved some of that show I loved the venom and lizard saga were everyone changed into venom that was fun and the lizard saga was the best everyone turned in to the lizard like a virus

I really like both Spectacular & Ultimate Spider-Man. For different reasons. Spectacular had some great story telling, & Ultimate had humor, & great character interactions. Plus Ultimate introduced me to many obscure Marvel characters.
I feel like every generation has a Spider-Man some have the early 90s one some have the one after and the ultimate one. I liked the ultimate one and the 90s one cause those two that are completely different are really well done nothing perfect but both got to run till completion which stands for something like it or hate it, it ran its corse and made it to an end which is great.

Me too and the fact this version of Mary Jane Watson cares about Peter Parker makes me loving the character of Mary Jane Watson and Ultimate Mary Jane Watson from earth 1610 is my favorite version of Mary Jane Watson of all time

I began to fall in love with the show when it decided to branch out and get into spiderverse territory, it made peters whole shield team background characters and that was nice to me because it gave us the dynamic of Miles, Kaine, Gwen and many others. That I'll forever love
Ultimate Spider-Man wasn’t the best show ever. It can’t hold a candle to Spectacular Spider-Man. Despite that, I still really enjoyed it. Though I openly say the later seasons were definitely better.
Especially Web Warriors. That was the greatest introduction to the multiverse (or Spider-Verse)

True, spectacular Spider-Man has more heart and emotional tie ins, but I like ultimate Spider-Man just as much. It’s just as funny, they had more super hero characters and cross overs, and had more action. Downside is that it’s not very emotional and it focuses more on Spider-Man than Peter Parker. He rarely has real people problems anymore that we love. And the downside of spectacular Spider-Man is that there’s really no other super hero’s or cross overs or world ending threats, it’s just him. But I love them equally, one had more action, one had more heart. Both of them are great.

As much as I dislike this series it has something that most current Marvel cartoons don't. Quality animation. The new cartoons are so shit it makes you appreciate shows like this. The new Spider-Man show and other Marvel cartoons look like they were animated on Adobe Flash.

90's Spider-Man through and through

I loved it. It ran it's course and had a good cartoon shelf life. I was hoping for one more season but it didn't happen. It was a cool adaption of Ultimate Spider-Man so they change stuff up, like him being trained by SHIELD by a black Nick Fury which is from the Ultimate Universe (at the time). Power Man and Iron Fist are in highschool, which they've never done. And Luke Cage looking like his newer younger Power Man successor in comics (which I thought was a good easter egg). But I've noticed over the last 10 years most comic cartoons are really aimed for kids in middle school. The things like the forth wall breaking is a more mordern (even though done for years in television since forever) take, mixed in with social media, to directly relate to our youth. It started when Disney bought Marvel. The fan stuff and easter eggs are for us older die hard fans, I think to watch with our teens and to still sell merchandise to us. OUR last show meant for us was The Mighty Avengers. Ultimate Spider Man was a great mix of both generations, our's and the next, to both like fully together. Kind of like Captain America passing his shield. We're passing on a cartoon legacy. I think the only reason there's still o.g. fan stuff in the new cartoons is because they're partially written by us original fans just slipping stuff in so we wont stop reading/watching. That's why Marvel's Spider Man cartoon sucks to us older fans, because it wasn't aimed at us at all. Now we're fully parent's saying, "what the hell are you watching!!" Like old Trekkie's that hate the new Star Trek movies. Now we know how the guys loving and reading comics in the 50's and 60's felt when they rebooted all the character's in the 80's.
I like it because it covered some of the comic story arcs. The animation was very well drawn and animated. Lots of little deep cuts and nods to the original series (rhino, I could put you in a suit)

Ultimate is the only Spiderman TV show (to my knowledge) that actually had a conclusion, that didn't end on a cliffhanger.
In other words, it's the only one that didn't get cancelled.

See the way I look at every different spider person is that it’s all in different universes so that’s why they act so different because that’s how that version acts
Tbh, I was on the younger side when spectacular ended so I wasn’t as apprehensive about ultimate Spider-Man, and I really liked it because I myself am not a comic reader and the series was a way I got introduced to a LOT of marvel characters apart from the main cast I mostly saw in big media like movies, overall pleased with it really, and I liked the shading it had that was just a bonus

This series is what inspires tom holland's spiderman. people said that tom's spiderman is based on the comic ultimate spiderman, but they're nothing alike because the comic version doesn't use a tech suit and is not a stark fanboy or an avengers fan boy. tom's spiderman is based on the cartoon version where he had so many gadgets and also a big stark fanboy

Well, I actually loved this series... a lot! From the beginning. Peter wasn't a totally shallow character and I enjoyed the 4th wall breaks (which a lot of people didn't like). His team was great and they were very lovable characters. Also the spiderverse was amazing! Miles was introduced and Peter learning about his death and I liked the other versions of spidey too. This is probably a unpopular opinion... but this version of Peter Parker is one of the versions that I absolutely love. So... I really loved it! (And also can't forget the fact that this series introduced the Avengers, Loki and the Guardians of the Galaxy and the story lines that involved them was a few of my favourites.)

My favorite part about the series (for some reason) was Kaine- sorry, Ben Reilly. The worst part about him: He was not much of a clone. But when he “Died” I hoped that he would come back. I knew he would because its a kids show, but still.
Almost whenever I saw him I said “Kaine- Sorry, Ben!” on accident because his abilities and suit confused me a little.
Long story short, now he is one of my favorite spider-men.
In the ultimate spider it's like everything goes Peter's way.
It's almost like there isn't any struggle in his adventures.

It is not JUST ultimate. All of Disney's Spidermans; MCU Spidey, Ultimate Spidey and Marvel's Spiderman (cartoon) there is almost no struggle

Ngl for me this show made my childhood and this plus the OG Spiderman and the Amazing Spiderman Movies is a huge reason why I love Spidey so much.
if there's a Season 5, they would've introduced the rest of the X-Men, Silver Sable, Black Cat, Hammerhead, & Yuri Watanabe.
But they didn't planned a season 5.
Personally, I love the series. It nails the comedy aspect of Spider-Man.
Of course it had it's issues. It doesn't try to even address the Peter Parker half of the story, which is a Shame considering that when it does, it does well. (Not excellent. Well)
I love how it goes into the lore of the comics, and manages to juggle it well. There's an Overarching plot, and each episode builds to that, even if it's in weak ways.
I enjoyed the 4th wall breaks, because I was a kid when the first season came out. But I grew up by the time the third season hit, and so did the show. Looking back, I enjoy the 4th wall breaks for the nostalgia they gave, but I can see how they're annoying sometimes. Plus, it gave that awesome duel with Deadpool, which is the highlight of the show to me
It tried to grow with the audience, with simple plots in the first season, and more complex ones as the seasons went. The plots became complex and deep, but the story didn't, and this was a missed opportunity.
I love the series despite its many obvious faults. It was what introduced me to the extended marvel universe afterall
I honestly enjoy Marvel's spider man because it felt like spectacular spider Man mixed in a modern day setting with the avengers. It shows a lot of Peter having the sense of responsibility and how sometimes he has to choose between being spider Man and being Peter Parker. The writers did a good job with ock and Peter in the superior spider Man arc and gave doc ock a lot of character development. Overall this is basically one of the top 3 spider Man shows

It’s funny that Ultimate Spider-Man ended a few months before Spider-Man Homecoming, and then either a few weeks or a month or two later after the Spider-Man Homecoming was released, the 2017 Spider-Man -Man animated show came out

I loved Ultimate Spiderman.
I have recently started watching this show, I have made it through season 1, and I can say I think it is average. Like you say in the video, there are good things the show does and things I don't care for, but overall I think it's a decent show

I’m not too big a fan of the 4th wall breaks and how frequent they were but a major reason I liked it was the art style.
I've watching spiderman since my young days and i miss this show. Loved it so much.
Ultimate spider man is actually the best...
I felt the show was a little silly at times, but I did enjoy some of the arcs they did. I hated the codename they gave Miles Morales. Did you know just like Aqualad from Young Justice, White Tiger and Nova were made for this show, then was Incorporated into the comics.
I plan on rewatching spectacular Spider-Man cuz I don’t really remember or even liking it that much. Ultimate Spider-Man on the other hand really appealed to me and to date has become my favorite Spider-Man cartoon. It definitely gets better over time and I highly recommend it as it’s fun and has decent development. It’s a shame it was cancelled as I believe they could’ve had more stories to tell, but overall ended very well.
Also it has wolf spider so it automatically wins.

Yes it did. Peter is on the verge of converting Doc Ock, his last REAL dangerous enemy out of villainy, Ock still has to do time for his crimes, but it's hinted at that Peter himself regularly visited Ock to help him differntiate between right and wrong.
I don’t get why everyone hates ultimate Spider-Man so much I love it and I was super sad when it ended I spent a day looking for a sequel to ultimate Spider-Man R.I.P ultimate Spider-Man 😢
I loved it but that’s probably nostalgia, because this came out when I was in second grade. I was the target demographic and it was great, and it tied in to agents of smash and avengers assembled (even if the three shows had three different hulks). As a kid watching Disney XD these shows were the best and as stated, introduced me to characters like agent venom and miles before I had any interest in actually reading the comics.

Hey Benny, I think you should cover the bizarre Spider-Man shows in between Spectacular and the 90s show: Spider-Man Unlimited or that Spider-Man cgi show that got launched right after the 1st rami movie.
Tbf, the first couple seasons were extremely mediocre, but it picked up in season 3. Season 4 was amazing imo
I was falling over myself in love with ‘Spectacular’ and was devastated when it ended. I tried to give ‘Ultimate’ a chance but it just couldn’t fill the hole in my heart, and I rage quit after 3 episodes. I didn’t like the 4th-wall breaking and I HATED Peter as a character. Also it was very hard to find on streaming so it wasn’t worth the effort.

I grew up on the original Spiderman animated series! Along w/ Batman X-Men n other animated shows. Brings me back. Good times. Hell of a job as always Benny n crew as always well done! Love this channel!

I love Ultimate Spider-Man and the animation looks really great, it ties in with the Avengers as well and I really enjoy some of the storylines. To me it was really good to see so many different characters in a Spider-Man cartoon.
