- This video is special because we have a lightning round, we blaze through 19 different rejected update idea submissions, twice as many as we usually do. And these are a combination of good, bad, and really weird so be sure to post your ideas in the comments!

Rejected update idea: an enemy that doesn’t kill you, just removes 100 seconds from the timer. Perfect for speed runs.

Rejected update: we’ve had the mega mushroom, the super mushroom, the mini mushroom, and even the micro mushroom, but now we’re introducing the nano-mushroom. It’s so small that you become completely invisible, even the mushroom itself. You can even put it on enemies. Just imagine how fun a nano platforming level would be.
Also add the Giga and Tera mushrooms.

We thought that enemies were too hard to dodge, so we decided to let you choose how big you want the hit box to be! Now you can have a spike trap that kills you when you get within half the screen of it! No more having to settle for easy enemies!

Item smash ball: You get all the characters moves from smash, but if you use toad or toadette, nothing changes because they are not independent characters in smash

Yeah, that makes sense
when we made it so that you can't turn off the switch or go to the home menu, people keep accidentally throwing their switch out the window, so we decided to make it so you can't play other people's levels entirely
I love the explosive doors update, it doesn’t even freeze on Mario’s death animation, it just immediately has him fall off the screen
New item: Sugar! Sugar rash makes you go really fast for a while but eventually crash. (crash as in the game shuts down on its own)

Flappy Bird Feather: It turns you into Flappy Bird and all pipes kill you

Rejected Update: A Gong that when anything (and I mean ANYTHING) touches it, it pops Mario's ears and the entire level now has no sound at all
1:10 this looks a lot more impactful when mario is just instantly flung instead of pausing for a moment
Rejected update: Jelly mushroom, people loved the fan game Jelly mario so we made this. Hard controls, everything kills you in one hit and you can't collect anything else. This won't get annoying, definitely won't.
I want those Goombas, a bit. Stationary characters can be good for cinematics, and stationary enemies can be good for hiding keys.
I especially like the sarcasm in the Rejected Updates videos.
Parasite Mushroom: You lose control of Mario and he finds the quickest way to die

New power-up: Brawl Mario. Now running causes Mario to randomly trip in the middle of levels. He can also randomly trip and fall into pits.

new character: non-friendly mario he holds a gun you choose. instead of jumping he uses the gun with a in the air once he kills the enemy (any enemy) they will spill blood

It is a door that you can only enter the door if you're the creator of the level.

Rejected idea: Sussy Mushroom: It's an mushroom that turns you into an AMOGUS, the drip music is so loud that it instantly kills all the enemies in a level, even Bowser doesn't stand a chance against Sussy Mario, have fun hearing some extremely loud music that is impossible to mute
New bosses in 3d world: Every one is tired of only having boom boom, pom pom, and meowser in 3d world, so we’ve decided to add NEW BOSSES for 3d world. Those bosses are: Bowser & His Car, Prince Bully, Boss Brolder, King Ka-thunk, Motley Bossblob, and even Fury Bowser! Now people will have so much fighting these bosses
If this was to happen, then there should probably be other settings, like ‘battle arena’ and ‘lake lapcat’

Giant Skewer: So Big it Crushes the level!
We had twister, angry tornado, and now we have the flipped hurricane. It flips everything in sight! Even thwomps, timer, and score.
Fist flower makes it so that when you sprint and spin jump you stay on the ground and do a lariat that destroys bricks but you can’t stop
If SMM2 mods become more common, someone should make a mod with these features
Rejected Update: The Deku Mask; It's a mix between 3 things, it blows bubbles like Baby Pink Yoshi in Mario, throws deku nuts like hammers instead of the hammer suit, and can spin attack and fly with enough momentum like the Cape Feather, And you can shoot very high and glide from pipes. Just add a master sword, a strict timer, the moon, and phanto, and then it will totally feel like our favourite Zelda game; Majora's Mask. This is alot more fun then individually adding Cape Feather to all game styles, and Baby Yoshi's just because we love Baby Pink Yoshi, and adding the hammer suit all serperately, isn't it?

Rejected update idea: fall guy power Up, you have the fall guy abilits: you can jump (the jump is lower), you can dive, you can grab small enemies, you can't take another power up, if you take damage you respawn and if much others fall guys (that will spawn when you get the power up) wins you will game over :D
I have a few ideas, here they are:
We removed the functionality of the home and power buttons, but now, people keep taking out the game card, so now, the game isn't a card, it's pre-installed! So you can't take the game out!
First boom boom, them tantrum boom boom, and now we are adding...
MEGA BOOM BOOM! He fills the screen so you can't see what you are doing! Yay!
New powerup, the funkin' note! When you hit it, you'll become boyfriend from friday night funkin'! When you get to an enemy, to pass, you'll need to rap battle it! There are epic songs like:
I'M A GOOMBA, SUPER KOOPA, BULLET BILLY, and so many more! Oh yeah, all songs are 4 hours long, and the timer still counts down! Little Timmy levels are gonna be awesome now!
Rejected update:
Wigglers that can be extended and made bigger just like snake blocks! The perfect way to block the goal!
Rejected idea: REALLY powerful thwomp.
A thwomp so powerful that it goes through EVERYTHING.
Even the goal flag.
And score, time and buttons.
Idea: horror mode (exclusive to the mansion smb2 style)
Everything is dark,sounds scary,scary enemies and you only have a beam of light in front of you.
Also add a unkillable enemy that can't be killed
(Just a shadow that is long and moves about-)
Add a closet to hide in in order to hide from it,(just press up to enter it and down to exit)
Also,p-switches activate lights and make the shadows dissapear temporarily
(The lights turn off when the p-switch timer expires)
Remember the rotten mushroom of the night themes? Well, how about giving that feature to ANY power up? Each rotten power up has a unique feature tied to its powers
Idea: placeable flagpole
Place the flagpole anywhere, even hide it in a hidden ? Block!
You can even just erase the normal flagpole at the end of the level!
Price change: The game is now $800 a week! And on Saturdays, It's $10,000!

Rejected Update: You know what’ll make those snake blocks even more fun? Giving them ice physics!

Rejected update: Wario mushroom. It looks like a Wario head. Changes you into Wario with no way to tell between anyone. Available in all themes. When you become Wario, you cannot die, but instead have status ailments similar to both Wario Land 2 and Wario Land 3 combined. Super Mushroom turns you into Fat Wario, any fire source (also lava) turns you into Fire Wario, swoops turn you into Vampire Wario, things that would crush you(includes thwomp) turn you into Flat Wario, poison and Koopaling magic turns you into Crazy Wario, etc. The only way to turn back to normal is to press a revert button that looks like Wario but with a bomb for a head. Interacting with it if you’re not Wario would also turn you into Wario.
Edit: Actually, I’d like to change the revert button so it looks like a frog switch from Wario Land 4 except with a Wario head. There will also be an optional normal frog switch. When pressed, the normal timer is removed and in its place is Wario Land 4’s Hurry Up timer. You must return to the entrance, because at the start there is a portal there that allows you to exit. In addition, the flagpole sinks to the ground and is unable to be used. If you run out of time (minimal time needed is 1 minute, also you must beat the course without running out of time), you will lose coins until you have none left. You can still replenish it, it’s just that you will eventually lose it. If you run out of coins, you are kicked out the level. This is one of only 2 ways to lose a level. The other way is to be lose to a boss. Rudy the Clown can make you lose in SMB1 and SMB3 levels. All bosses can do this in the Super Mario World style, and all bosses in NSMBU and SM3DW can as well. Only Wario Land bosses can make you lose however. These bosses can only be spawned if there is a Wario Mushroom and a revert button that can be accessed by the player. In addition, there can only be one Wario Land boss per level. Normal Mario bosses will just give a status ailment. And you can KO Mario bosses with a single shoulder bash. In addition, Wario can break all blocks.
rejected update: dev items! every single block and item now has a setting where it can only be seen and used by the creator of the level! this definitely won’t be abused at all!

Idea: Backwards Thwomp
You ever get tired of the thwomps being so easy to figure out? I mean, you just have to get close to it in a specific direction, and then you"ll know if its right or not. So introducing.....the backwards thwomp! When you trigger it, itll go in the opposite direction of the player! Why? Even I dont know. But hey, it can make for definitely, 100% fair trolls, like a row of thwomps that go in the opposite direction, except one goes down like normal.....
I also had an idea for a backwards thwomp, but it works a bit differently.
Super bumpers: touch one and your out of orbit. This one also interacts with literally anything, even the stage itself
Rejected idea: A goomba that if you kill it, it makes your vision darker. Perfect for night-mansion levels!

"Dusk mode" where things either have their night of day behaviors and it randomly picks and switches between them whenever the level wants
Another idea "negative checkpoints" if you hit it, it kills you and immediately and sends you back to the start of the level
Rejected ideas : A power up and when mario take it he will look you and ask some spaghetti !
Rejected update idea: the time can only be equal 0 or infinity to for players don't lose their progress in level. Airbags for the Nintendo Switch, this would prevent people from accidentally throwing their nintendo switch to the ground or taking it for repair with the intention of Start Over and ending up missing the checkpoint.
Luigi mushroom: you grab it and if you put any inputs into your controller after you grab it you die instantly. you beat the level once the timer hits zero.

My idea: pebble, it’s invisible and can only be placed on ground, and trips Mario when he walks over it, causing Mario to fall and get harmed. Place it next to a steep slope for even more damage! And even or rare occasions, Mario will break his legs, causing you to not be able to do anything until the timer ends!

Rejected Update: Movie Mode
An added feature to everyone in the 2022 Mario Movie: Movie Mode changes them to their voice actors
Update: The new game style everyone has been waiting for, Mario Golf theme!
You must use a real golf club to play it.
You have to hit your screen as if it were a golf ball! Just try not to whack it too hard...
Blue koopa Troopa: acts like a koopa Troopa, but the Blue shell destroys everything in it’s path, even the goal!
Rejected update idea: 50/50 pipe, place a 50/50 pipe and 2 normal pipe that connects to the 50/50 pipe. When you enter the 50/50 pipe, there's a 50% chance that you'll exit out of the right pipe or the left pipe. We also have a 50/50 door so sometimes you have to rely on your luck to get good harder. In the next update, I WILL add something more sinister so you troll creators can enjoy your people playing your level suffer.
Toad Mushroom: Pick this up to play as toad! Even cooler, you get to hear is voice all the time while you have this powerup! Along with that, if Toad picks up this powerup he will die, forcing the player to switch characters to not risk death!
Rejected idea: fire bars can now be set to laser bars, that has infinite range and will instantly kill and destroy anything it touches

Ultimat Bowser in the Background, that shots Firebals at every living creature.

My rejected update: ladybug power up. It turns you into a ladybug. You can lay eggs, climb on stuff (including dangerous gizmos abd enemies, and fly with this power up.
Rejected update idea: The ring. With this power-up, you become sonic and have all of sonic's abilities! (homing attack, drop-dash, spin-dash, going super sonic which if you touch any enemy, that enemy dies and you are yellow and you can fly when supersonic)
Clear Condition

Enemy Chimeras: Combine at least 3 unique enemies to make an enemy Chimera! They will have the abilities of all enemies used to make it!

To mix two of the ideas in the video: the P meter in SMB3 now stands for potassium! If you don't grab a banana, the Potassium meter will go down, and if it is empty, you'll die because your stomach doesn't have enough nutrients

anti-gravity block: switches the gravity for every coins that you have (1 coin=1 second) It also drains coins because the coins will fall to the ground. When Mario has no coins, the gravity switches back.
Perfect for making sure your plumber stays poor

Rejected update: A troll P-switch that turns everything into coins.
Rejected update idea: Super Mario land for the Gameboy and also don't forget to include the second version this well

Just when you think Nintendo finally listened to the community and added the ice flower powerup, you realise that Nintendo was just pulling a prank. Every snowball thrown homes in back at you which will freeze you in place for a few seconds. However you don't lose the powerup, so every time you try to run because of us mapping the running and power using to the same button, you can experience more pain.
