Every time I come back to enjoy Chris Whiteman videos, and click "like" I realize I just erased a like I already added...duh. I do keep coming back, so there's that.😃
The organ sound on a keyboard brings me into a nostalgic state. Something about it... this particular piece reminds me of the final scenes of Le Samourai.
"Days of Wine and Roses" by Wes Montgomery on ”Boss Guitar" is the best Jazz guitar solo for me.
And this is the second jazz guitar solo that I have ever heard in my life.
'Such a hauntingly beautiful Van Heusen/Burke 1943 great American songbook gold nugget..... Thanks, guys!
In JaZZ, the quintessential quest is to establish a groove, this a GREAT lesson in doing so. Good job guys.
Dude, you are insane. Not only the obvious good technique and sound, but the creativity and just a different sound than just playing over the changes.
You let the music rest before you come up with an idea.
Swinging guys, tasteful, understated, not showy or overly technical, awesome stuff.
These cats are Killin It ! The sound of the guitar and organ remind me of early. Wes with Mel Ryan on organ ! Such a hip sound ! Great work , gentlemen!

Entre un million et savoir jouer comme ça, je toujour choisirais de jouer comme ça. Incontestablement!. Salut
@@ChrisWhitemanGuitar I would feel much richer. Happy 2024 🇫🇷
I've just discovered the Chris Whiteman channel love the his guitar playing the improvisation and comping is terrific. The guitar/organ combo is the swingiest!
WOW U2 beautiful sound !! Great playing !! I can almost hear the drums kicking in the back ;-)
I would have given a standing ovation to that
@@ChrisWhitemanGuitar awesome! Did you take inspiration from Miss Ann’s Tempo when writing Granted?
@@jasonheras1955 that was written by the organ player, but I suspect so
One of the most iconic duo that still sound so authentic yet contemporary. As always love it!
Chris, that was super good. Love the Hammond with guitar. Excellent performance.
Stunning. The consistency in your playing and phrasing never cease to amaze, Chris!
3:50 The doors, I see what you did there. :) I love your timing, guys. I would not be able to hold that. The lines are great and interesting to listen.
Wow, great ensemble playing. Chris, I don't know whether I'm more impressed with your beautiful solo phrasing or your very imaginative comping!
I've been struggling to find my feet in Jazz vocabulary as a guitarist coming from rock, and I find your guitar solo very inspiring and melodic; a great introduction to how beautiful this style really is
Fantastic Chris! Jonah sounds great too. Thanks for sharing your talents.
Beautiful! I'd give my right hand for your melodic sensibility and touch. Oh, wait....
took me a minute to realize you didn't have a drummer or a bassist with that groove :)
I know I’ve already commented before, but MAN you are so swinging! Hope our paths cross one day and we can play Organ Guitar duo!!
One of the most enjoyable perfomances I've ever heard. Absolutely amazing!
Beautiful playing. Drum, bass, and guitar trio is no longer my dream band. Hammond and guitar, thats it. And 2 way tip split instead of 3!
Really diggin’ it man! Nice stuff. Cool tweed jacket too (not joking, I dig your style)👍🏻😎
最高!!!
ah, the before times...
I'm always curious about that "jazzy laugh"
Penak tenan... Ngrungok ke... Nganti seng gitar.. mantuk2 ...jozz jazz

Haha 1:58, you certainly timed that well:-) Great gigplaying. You ike the 175? (?) compared to the bigger L5 Iba af200 kinda stuff?
Thanks Herman. I do like the size of the 175. The L5 is a little too big and less comfortable for me.
The phrasing on the guitar is of course magnificent but can we talk about that organ bass please?
Nice playing and sounding. Do you recall what brand, type, and gauge of strings you were using? Effects?
Thank you. Thomastik Infeld jazz Flat wounds .012
just a touch of reverb from the amp
Hello sir , do you have any advice for a beginner trying to learn how to keep time? Seems so complicated considering things like syncopation etc . Thanks !
Practice with a metronome, 24/7! It becomes muscle memory/ music second nature to be playing in time without a metronome, after practicing with it so much. Over time it will get so much better, so don’t get discouraged. You can also listen to something that has a complicated rhythm, or something you like the sound of rhythmically and transcribe that. You will get better in time
Sounds beautiful. Are you using your quilter live?
I am using a Headstrong Lil King tube amp (fender Princeton Reverb clone) in this video. I do use the quilter live, but usually for solo guitar or duo with a bass player.
Awesome! What amp are you using and is the organ just going through that 1 speaker in the background?
Thank you. It is a headstrong lil king amp. Not sure about the organ, but I think just 1 speaker
Yeh yah
Great as always. What guitar is this? I know you have lots of tabs available. Do you have any of your solos transcribed and for sale?
Thank you Keith. It is a 1953 ES-175. I have not transcribed any of my solos, but will be adding some instructional material to my patreon page in May.
Hi Chris, do you use flatwound or roundwound strings in this video? Thanks😀
Hey Chris, how are you recording this? Looking for something to use for my gigs
This is the problem with jazz. You have these great players who have practiced for decades, learned scales, chords, music theory, developed a great skill, great tone, spend tens of thousands on all the "right" gear, guitars, pickups, amps, strings etc. and in the end 99% of jazz players end up playing at small wine bars and restaurants and make a couple of hundred bucks for the night...if they're lucky. Both of you are great players and make a fantastic ensemble. Thank you for sharing.
Thank you! I think I made $75 for that gig 😂
@ChrisWhitemanGuitar yeah, but you are doing what you love, and using the talent God gave you, that is the secret to a happy life
My husbands in a band. He would play for free.
So do 99 percent of rock and country players
Beautifully played gentlemen!
