"Mister Wunderland" did a 40 min walkthrough video during covid in 2020. We have a 1 hour train ride in 360° on our channel if you like to watch 😉 And we're planning to do another walkthrough when monaco is opened. 😊 Ps: the "Rammstein concert" is the big carnival in Rio 😋
I have hoped that you guys see this reaction and answer. He is the most enthusiastic man for your Wunderland I have seen so far on YT and he absolutely did deserve a reaction from the Olymp of Miniture Railroads itself. Your place is on my bucket list for years, but despite living only 150km away from Hamburg, I never visited it yet. But I will. Maybe when Rammstein is playing in Hamburg again. 😄 Cheers from the North Sea 🤘😎
For those who have difficulty finding the videos on the MiniaturWunderland channel, here are the direct links to the two videos mentioned. If you're watching the train ride, you should aim the camera straight ahead. This gives you the perspective of standing IN the train compartment looking out the open window - on both sides at the same time !! And don't be surprised at the giants who suddenly appear in "your world". 😁 the train ride ua-cam.com/video/yzc6ZUMGj1M/v-deo.html the walkthrouh ua-cam.com/video/JwDvcydkQEE/v-deo.html
Fun fact: in the beginning no bank wants to give a loan to them because the complete business plan and financial planning fits on two sheets... after 24 years they created an attraction with 1.5M visitors a year and more than 300 employess...
Every time I come to Germany (about 4 times a year), I take at least 2 days to visit the Miniatur Wunderland. As many times as I've seen it now, I'm always discovering new details. This makes this wonderland a real work of art.
I remember back in the early 2000s when they first opened, my father came to me and both of us drove all the way from Frankfurt to Hamburg the same day and saw the first moments of this. It was phenomenal as a kid, who had a fascination for railways, back then and I can't even begin to imagine what it must be like now. Maybe that visit was part of the reason I work as a train engineer for the Deutsche Bahn today 😛
Hey. My name is Marcel and i am from Germany. Living about 65 Kilometers away from Hamburg and went to the Miniatur Wunderland several Times. Guys, if you going to Hamburg and visit the Miniatur Wunderland you completely blowing away from this stunning piece of Art. Sorry for my bad english ;)
D, please don't be jealous. Go and visit Hamburg and the Miniatur-Wunderland at least for two days and enjoy - but you need to book the tickets for the Miniatur-Wunderland in advance to make sure to get inside. You need to see it live - the camera can't even do it justice.
This is what happens when employees are allowed to do what they want. And when you are allowed to contradict the boss without him being offended. They have been tinkering with the Formula 1 track in Monaco for years (I think it's been 8 years now). Other companies would have given up long ago.
What you thought initially was Ramstein, was in fact the carnival in Rio. Patagonia is part of Argentina. Basically, it is depicting South America and they partnered with modellers in Buenos Aires to build it. Out of interest, Miniatur Wunderland is offering free admission throughout the current month to those who are unable to afford entry.
At 6.26: This looks like the Sambadrome in Rio de Janeiro, Brazil And Patagonia is at the southern tip of South America, where the famous Drake Passage is.
You're right! I live in Hamburg and go to Miniatur Wunderland at least once every year, but usually more often, and discover something new every time. Come to Hamburg for at least a week, buy an annual ticket (very cheap) and you can enjoy every day intensively. If you bring enough video footage, you'll then have 20 hours of footage to enjoy every day. It's great and later this year (2024) Monaco will open, after that you should come at least 14 days. On the one hand because there is so much to see, on the other hand because there will be more than 1.4 million visitors a year. Stay excited, your reaction to the “MiWuLa” is just as fun to watch as the visit to the Speicherstadt, home of Wunderland in Hamburg. 🤗💌
Not an overview video, but 1h driving through the Wunderland by train with 360° controllable view: ua-cam.com/video/yzc6ZUMGj1M/v-deo.htmlsi=oApeRxOAsDrU-oVi And a complete walk through video here: ua-cam.com/video/nSV5eNaNnm8/v-deo.htmlsi=6rzRlhXvRYI7OFro
They're also creating a VR game inside a new hall where you walking around as a figure of the Miniature Wonderland and watch everything from inside the areas, just like you would be a part of it. Someday the whole "park" will be so big that you can't possibly make it on day only😃
They don't develop it. It's been finished for a long time. We were there in February last year. Back then there were still backpacks with PCs that you had on your back. They do not exist anymore. But we had the feeling of driving, walking, flying through Wonderland as a little figure for half an hour (at the end we climbed on the bee and flew home). My wife couldn't believe how quickly the 30 minutes went by, but the next time we visit Hamburg we will definitely shrink ourselves again 😁
The Miniatur Wunderland is in Hamburg's Speicherstadt. When Hamburg joined the German customs union, they needed a duty-free haven for trade. So you build storage houses. The German customs union then became Germany. Today the storage buildings are used differently. Miniatur Wunderland was able to rent the exhibition space there.
There are actually two "Mr. Wunderland" Gerrit and Frederik Braun are the founders of the MWL. The two brothers are very nice guys and down to earth. Just contact them, I'm sure they will reply to you. Greetz from the city of Hamburg 😊👍🏻🚂
I had the after hours / back stage tours they sometimes have when the museum is closed. Its all about the technical part and meeting the artists and engineers. Seeing all the tech involved, crawling truh maintenace coridors, seeing the work/maintenance workshops, traffic control and lost of other parts that are normaly not open for the public is mindboggeling! And also the historic buildings themselves were the museum is based are a part of the old historic port of Hamburg. Those former port warehouses ( Speicherstadt ) in Hamburg have been repurposed and are now a worldfamous landmark.
Hey. There is a video by James Bray from 8 weeks ago when he visited the Miniatur Wunderland. I don't think he got everything but it's a good video and he shows many little details. I can recommend it. Btw why don't you just plan your next vacation in Hamburg? 😀
Yes, come to Germany. In the afternoon you visit Miniatur Wunderland and in the evening you visit a Rammstein - Concert. I think it would be a nice Day. 😅Best wishes from Germany
It might not be possible to compete with the MiWuLa, but it is possible to build a layout that does not need to compete: Build a miniature of a place they will not build, for example of a once larger station which has been reduced to one track in recent years, or a railroad museum, or a railroad museum where once a station was. Industrial railways could also be interesting - iron and steel works need railways as much as many chemical plants.
2:35 "The leave no details out" Yes. I remember the discussion about the ice calving. Due to air, that is enclosed in the ice, there rise water bubbles, when the ice sinks in the water. The developers asked für ideas, how to do that. As you can see (2:20), it works very well.
Actually ther were at least two occasions where people tried to beat some of the records. But they were all managed by investors. So the laid more track but it was al just straight blank track. Or the miniatures were build in a rush. They wer love and liveless creations. They went bankrupt quit quickly.
Watch the visit of James Bray of the Wonderland. This gives you a little dneak peak of the whole epicness. If not for Reacion then for your inner child an train enthusiast.
For your information: the Wunderland in Hamburg is the number one tourist attraction in Germany with around 1.5 million visitors per year. More than, for example, Neuschwanstein Castle, Cologne Cathedral or other things worth seeing. Have a look at Monaco, Wonderland's next surprise: a Formula 1 circuit with autonomous racing cars... and of course an enchanting and realistic depiction of the Principality of Monaco.
If you go there with children, be aware that they will be pulling on your sleeves all the time going "look !", "look !" But not that big of a deal because you whant to "look" to hehe. And even children don't shout in there because they are amazed to. The best thing is to go on a not busy day on the week just after the opening (you don't whant to go before it closes) with your wife/GF or a couple of budies (on your own is really great to, but you kind of whant to share some stuff during the visit with somebody). And preferably on a sunny day hehe (because if it is raining, all the tourists emediatly think or are adviced to see some indoor stuff and especially this)
Is beautiful. 🥰 The details, simply fantastic.👍👍👍👍👍 For your information D.: Switzerland, Neuhausen am Rheinfall, there is also a miniature world, not as big as in Hamburg but also beautiful. With regions, areas and city replicas in Switzerland. And you still need 2-3 hours for the tour. I've been there 4 times and always find things I haven't seen before.👍😉 Beautiful and entertaining, but no comparison to the one in your video.☺
I went there several years ago but new worlds have been added since. I have to go back! Beyond amazing work. You're right, there should be a mini Rammstein concert with mini pyro effects At some point I think I recognized the starship Nostromo from Alien stranded in the ice!
Not sure if you watched MONACO F1 racing course opening yet. It's the latest as far as I know. And they are TWO brothers who are the masterminds behind the Wunderland.
Take a look at Gerrit's diary, there are over 88 of them, where he explains what goes on behind the scenes. Gerrit is one of the two brothers who built Wonderland. For example, he writes the computer programs. ua-cam.com/video/TnJSinL6Fnw/v-deo.html
ua-cam.com/video/COfsp3ssbRk/v-deo.html The Wonderland Movie starts in March 2024 in Germany. Length is much more than one hour. German: Der Wunderland Kinofilm startet im März 2024 in Deutschland. Er dauert weit länger als eine Stunde.
Sorry, you can't have a video with the complete "Miniatur Wunderland". Too much: Norway, Sweden, Denmark, Germany with Knuffingen and Hamburg, Austria, Switzerland, Knuffingen Airport, Italy, France, Monaco and the Brigde to the other house (with Brasil and Argentina). By the way, the correct "Name" for "Mister Wonderland" are Gerrit and Federike Braun.
I dont think 1 hour would be enough to show everything. It is quite hard to film as well, because you are dealing with very small things but need depth-of-field at the same time. A standard phone wont be able to record this well enough, you need a good lens that allows you to focus on detail in more than "one plane/distance from the camera". This is typically possible at greater distances from the camera, but to be able to also zoom in you'd need a really good one.
2 hours.. you just rushed through. No way is 2 hours enough. went in december with my girlfriend who has never been there and the made one round through all areas in 10,5 hours and still see videos with little scences we missed
One our is ten times to less, to show their whole complex.? One day visit isn´t also never much enough, you have no idea what they made .. this is no wunderland, but a wonderworld

Yes!

6:43 Carnival in Rio de Janeiro.
And it all started with a 2 million € loan, that the bank first doesnt wanted to give.
Not 2 million €, it was 2000 and we had DM "De-Mark" in that year. € came 2002. So it was 1 million €.
5:13 spotted the alien spaceship?
6:40 is the Carnival in Rio de Janeiro
2:32 Ice calving is a normal natural phenomenon. Climate change causes the glaciers to loose ice faster (by calving an melting), than it is rebuilt.
