Outside of DnD I have met many of these people: "I can do no wrong, I want to control everything but if something goes wrong it is always someone else's fault", gets old fast. The mirror remark she made is the pot calling the kettle a shiny reflective surface.

I wouldn't have lasted 10 minutes without starting to just throw all my insults at her. I usually try to be nice to everyone, but someone like her would piss me of too much to stay nice.
Same. I have problems bending knee to people with small dick big ego issues. I have been thrown out of communities for calling people publicly on things people would after privately come to me going 'yea it's horrible but you have to roll with it.
Rolling with it is what they want people t odo. Rolling with it means their presence and behavior is normalized.
I am currently dealing with just such a sh*show as well. I have a hard time backing down to narcissists, and sometimes the simplest slight becomes an argument. Right now my whole little community of friends are trying to organize a peace talk to talk to this person, so our community isn’t split in half with their wrath
@@chimerakait Personal experience here suggests that any such peace talks will in the moment appear to work, but then it will happen again, and again, and again until they hsve gotten their way.
There are only two ways I have seen that has any lasting positive effecr. Either a no nonsense display that shows thwir behavior will not be tolerated, or a complete removal. Both will have that person's apologists and fawners painting you as the villain, but those are the only two paths I have ever seen not end in the community collectively turning into their sandbox in the name of peace.
It is not an easy thing to do, and I do not envy you. However appeasement only shows that they will be tolerated and their antics give results, so they will continue to crowbar and wedge and nest at the heart of things all while pleading off on the idea of it being a power play.
Andrew Singleton that’s what I fear will happen. Her boyfriend defends her behaviour and continually tells us to suck it up. He threatens that if she is kicked he’s gone too. Doesn’t help that most of our group has anxiety issues, depression, PTSD or autism. We stick together, help each other out. I’m on camp *that b*tch is a narcissist and ain’t changing, so she has got to go.* but the others want to keep the community together and tell her what their problems are. Prediction: SHE GETS ANGRIER, and my own sanity won’t take that. So I don’t know what is going to happen, when ever it DOES happen.

I feel like this isn’t a real “D&D Story” as I don’t believe D&D really came up. It’s more like discord drama from a shit-poster. Not that I dislike the story, just that I was expecting something different.

To be fair, I know I have a tendency to talk over others, especially when I'm on a roll, but the DM tends to be like "Dude, it's the other guy's turn to speak now. Wait until after they are done."

I honestly really enjoy being the goofy side character.

My character is supposed to have an inflated ego and think that he’s more important than everyone, but if you ask me what role I think he has outside of game, he’s just a side character who’s currently going through character growth revolving around how him realizing that he’s not the strongest or most important person ever. The party already has a character that everyone agreed is the equivalent of a main character and we’re all on board with that. This character is way more worthy of the role than mine is. If you want a campaign to have a main character, the entire group has to be okay with it.
Honest? "Main characters" last only about one character arc before they lose their status and a new character gets the limelight.

Welcome To The D&D Masterclass: Interacting With Humans Part 1.XD
I used to play at a local gaming shop that had D&D nights every teusday.
There was a guy who always played a paladin no matter what campaign, and would always min-max it to the point he could basically one shot any enemy he faced.
Now the problem wasn't that he min-maxed, the problem was he complained when other's didn't min-max their characters, or play the characters how they're "Supposed to be played", as in, how he'd play them.
Got a rogue trying to charm a person instead of just straight up steal from them? Wrong way to play
Got the soldier background but don't have crippling ptsd? Wrong way to play
Playing a dwarf but don't want to diggy hole? Playing it wrong! (alright, that one is a joke)
This all came to ahead when he tried to DM once, emphisis on Once, it basically camedown to he didn't give us any clues on where to go, whom to talk to, what we're supposed to do and what we're supposed to be facing. Then complained when we travelled in the opposite direction of the city we were supposed to go to, and didn't follow his plan that he told us nothing about.
It was honestly the most boring game of D&D I'd ever played, and he couldn't adapt his plans to save his life.
The 4 hour session ended before we even got into the first city because the guards wouldn't let us in, so we had to try and sneak in in various ways. He told us after the session ended that the guards wouldn't let us in because he wanted us to travel to the other city.
Why he couldn't just move his campaign from city to the other I don't know, on the map they looked basically the same.
He's defo one of those people who's good at playing D&D, but not running it.

Yeah, sadly. There is a difference between "good Trolling" and "bad Trolling". The good one makes People go off on you, discussing Topics that you bring up they should reflect on, and, due to your purposefully made controversial Statements, they reflect on it and exchange Ideals and Ideologies instead on riding forever on just theirs.
An example would be: "What, it is totally acceptable to play a Dwarf named "Arbosch Herdler" who wants to "undermine" the "Rotten Structures of the Establishment" and is blaming "the Elves" for it, demanding they all need to get into Camps where they are forced into "Lava Showers".
This is obviously some WW2Reference and thus controversial as normally it is not ok to do so. But, in a Campaign of "pure Evil" this can be "Fun". Now, the Listeners start to exchange Ideas of "How it is ok" and "How it is not ok" - getting into the Thematic of Racism and Manipulation, learning from each other about it. The Troll becomes the "Monster", which derives from "demonstrare" aka "to make others aware of it". The Troll now can steer the conversation by bringing up or defending Things like a Nazi would do - or some KKK-Member. And thus, show how unappropriate some other Things we do not have Thought of yet are. Like, in Germany the Phrase for "a Work you can do till you die and it will still will have no meaning" often is "bis zur vergasung" literally meaning "until you get gassed". Noone thinks about it, and almost all Germans are shocked to the Bones if you make them aware of this.
This "good Trolling" is, indeed, a philosophical School, the "Cynism" of Diogenes.
The Bad Troll instead... he just feasts on others despair and suffering. Simple Sadism of the lowest kind. This one I strongly dislike.
The difference is on what the Troll focuses - the Pain he causes or the unraveling of the errors of the Ways and Thoughts many People follow while unaware of it.
That one was obviously a "bad one" - either in her Goals or her Skills in Trolling.
I've known people like that on SL over the years. So dedicated and contrived that it's hard to tell if they're actually just that elaborate of a troll or just that delusional of an individual. Anyway from now on, any people I encounter like that shall henceforth be known as Grunkalinas.

I have never ran a Discord server but if it's one of those Discord servers or you just all gather and talk stuff I don't think he would be in my server for more than a day

This actually reminded me of a friend I used to have; same holier-than-thou attitude cranked up to eleven, same opinionated attitude, same manipulative, self-centered tendencies.
I'm glad we're not friends anymore.
I sat and listened to this story and was like wow, I can't believe they put up with her that long. and I thought back to my last group.. ~shocked terror~ we had a Grunkalina in our group.. I just... I just... egads I never thought about it. always arguing with everyone, pushing her fandoms on people, being the biggest pain in the ass to the party at every possible moment, always getting everyone in trouble in-game always trying to be the center of attention, always trying to be the best of the best of the best, with honors, picking favorites, and absolutely shitting on others who basically stood up to her. ~shudders~ man I don't miss those times.

Matches one my two definitions of a "game mother", clan mother and mother warden. Clan Mother, ever lost, confused, or defeated, Clan Mother's got your back. She'll be there to help you up, get you what you need, and push on. Always looking out for her group of clan kiddies. Mother Warden, eyes down, feet together, follow her lead. She and only she has the one path to greatness, keep the kids safe and on the path, any step off it is bad, wrong, and will not be tolerated.

But you have to learn how to snap back into being a decent person while explaining why being a downer is rude, unappreciative, and worst of all: uncreative. I've playde with one Grunkalina before.
When I entered collage a guy in my class call a bunch of colleges to paly D&D (My first campain ever). We played a campain in 2 groups, Same DM Same campain but separeted partys, in the end we were supose to merge the groups, but it never happened.
with that Out of the way, I was in a party and I was a Wizzard, and the Grunkalina was a Sorcerer, already at the begining I had a problem with that palyer, but considering that I didn't really like the gut outside the game, I imagined it was just me, not a problem with him. Although I must say my presence there, and our class choices matter.
First strike, was when we were meeting each other in a tavern, the RP was happenning and everyone was having fun, but the Grunklina started complaning that we weren't fighting, and after a lot of complain, the DM russhed us to the Dungeon, but considering we weren't great at RP we understood why he wanted to rush to battles.
OBS: that campain was more grounded, we were all LV1, we had to buy food to take to dungeons, the DM counted the time of each torch, so basically resources matter, and we were really poor.)
Second Strike, when we entered the dungeon, we went down a rope, and considering that we were scarsed in resources I said to the DM that I crapped the rope, at that point Drunklina complain that we were losing time with stupid things like taht while we could be "Playing the game" AKA fighting. but ether way I took the rope, but again before the DM said anything, Druklina complained again, in the end, we wasted over 30 minutes just so I could grab the rope, bacause everytime he starded complainind and arguing about all the time wasted, making us waste even more time.
After that we had a few games with less problems, but over all everypalyer starded geting angry with Grunklina, He starded complaining with the DM about the campain and everything.
Tirth Strike, after defiting the dungeon, we find the loot, among it a Magic scroll, at the moment the DM mentioned the magic Scroll Drunkilina said "I take it", not even leting the DM finish describing the loot we got, someone else, said that I made more sense if I keept the scroll since he would only be able to cast it once, while I would add it to my magic list, even because it was a magic I didn't have. I agreed, as all other players did, but Grunklina took that as the last drop of watter, he complained the res tof the day, making it impossible to finish that day.
After that he was moved to the other group, were ther wouldnt be any problem, because there wasn't me in there, neither a wizard, the suposed reasons that he was acting like that.
One week after playing with the other group Drunklina had already argued with every palyer in that group and the DM. after a few more weeks and fights with the DM, Grunklina was kicked from the game.
I was wondering why no one had made a video for this story!!! I laughed so freaking hard when I first read it!!!

This is definently sound like a Karen playing in the DnD. I can't believe that this happened to the players and the OP because of this.
Oh believe me, it happened. You can even find the real logs of conversation in the discord. (I'm OP) A few people deny it happening just because it's so ridiculous... but no... she was real and she was a parasitic flesh devourer.
There certainly are actual creatures like Grunkalina in the world... To me, the _best_ course of action is to _CALL THEM OUT _*_MERCILESSLY_*_ ASAP, AND THEN EXPEL THEM..._
Creatures like Grunkalina are not only impossible to include in social gatherings / interactive groups, they cannot (( and likely _will not_ )) undergo any meaningful process towards reconciliation for any of the strife and pain they've inflicted... _at least_ not without genuinely qualified and certified, clinical psychological therapy..

One of GMs I have played, is Grungelina whenever his medication fails.
But usually he is easily excited puppy, who cooks both food and campaigns.
The worst part is, I can relate to this story so much because it's how my actual mother is. Trust me, if you only had to deal with a month of that psychological abuse, you were lucky.

Me, who's favorite character built so far is a drow bard- you seem to be uncomfortable with paying a race similar to your own... may I suggest playing a high elf? You'd be quite good at snarky nobleman roleplay with all that crazy in your social interactions.

Personally for me I find it boring (I HAVE to have at least one nonhuman animal aspect in all of my characters, it might be a problem) but I won't judge anyone for choosing those races at all, and I don't mind since it balances out my crazy preferences.

A few members in the groups already started writing up stats and quests for their versions of her. One day I can only hope I make her a BBEG in one of my campaigns.
I have autism, social anxiety, and depression, but I don't use them as an excuse to be awful to people. I strive to be kind to everyone I meet. The only times I am not exactly the nicest person is if someone is being incredibly rude and insulting even after being asked politely multiple times to stop.
I and some of my online friends have been harassed by such people and I actually took a leading role in taking down the biggest internet troll I ever had the displeasure of meeting. He was so terrible, I refuse to even think of him as a human, as no person should ever be so cruel and horrible. I had never spoken to the creep before in my life when I one day got a notification that someone had tagged me, dragging me into a debate I had nothing to do with. The creep was arguing about a ship in a fandom that I was apart of but had never expressed any interests of the couple. I did believe the two characters were great friends, but I didn't think of them as a couple and actually viewed them as being more like siblings. I had even brought this up to an online friend of mine who did ship them and she respected my differing opinion. However, apparently because we were friends, it obviously meant that, to the creep, that I also shipped the pair. Normally, this would nothing more than an annoyance if it were only about the ship, but this creep took things much to far. As much as he seemed to love the ship, he never actually did anything to defend or support it. He actually used it more as an excuse to harass people personally and try to build a harem with girls who wanted nothing to do with him, myself included. I tried confronting him about his ill behavior and explained to him that, not only did I not want anything to do with him nor did I support him, but that I was asexual and thus had no interests in getting involved with anyone romantically. He completely ignored my words and continued spreading all kinds of horrible lies about me and others, claiming that we were "good friends" who "supported his ideals without question" and "hated anyone who dared to stand against him". No one was buying his lies as I and everyone else he had lied about had come forth to dispute his claims and even went so far as to state that we hated his guts for being so insensitive and abusive towards others. After many failed attempts to get him to leave us alone, I began gathering evidence of his ill behavior to present to someone of authority. Everyone was more than happy to pitch in and share all his crude comments that he sent to us and started sharing warnings about the creep invading our online lives to torture us at his pleasure. When he found out about what we were doing, he made a post claiming that "God was on his side and that we would all receive righteous karma for attacking him when he had done absolutely nothing wrong at all". We all couldn't help but growl in frustration at his arrogance as we face palmed. We eventually managed to alert those working on the site the creep was harassing us on about him and they closed down his account. But, unfortunately, he kept making new accounts to continue harassing us without mercy. He even had the nerve to write dirty fanfiction about us and posted it on a fanfiction site under the username of one of my friends. I was in tears at this point and growing more and more scared and exhausted of the situation. I would have simply left the site, but it was my only means of making money and it was one of my all time favorite places to visit on the internet. It wouldn't have been fair to any of us to be forced to leave because of one creep who refused to take a hint that no one wanted him around or agreed with him. I eventually told my family about the situation and, after hearing and even reading about the things he said, decided that we needed to get the police involved. This creep was clearly discriminating anyone who wasn't him, violated our rights as humans, and abusing the power of the internet to make as many people possible miserable. When I presented my case to the police, however, they claimed that there was nothing they could do as he was "protected by the law of freedom of speech". We were all infuriated by this claim. Simply because this creep was writing and not posting pictures or anything like that, the police refused to do anything to help. Had I been underage, they might have done something, but I was considered an "adult" by society and so there was simply nothing they could have done for me even though I knew that this creep was sexually harassing at least one girl who was underage. After a while, I had to try and distance myself from this virtual war as my depression, which had been so small that I didn't even realize that it was there, had nearly overcome me from the whole situation and was taking a major drain on my well being. When I let the others know about my situation but promised to continue adding any evidence they gathered of the creep's harassment, they were more than understanding and thanked me for doing so much to try and help others. My friend who was initially attacked for opening supporting the ship the creep claimed to be defending as he harassed all of us was eventually able to bring her case to those who could take action against those were cyber bullying and were able to track him down. At first, they simply took him down to the police station to warn him that if he continued his harassment he would be arrested. He was instantly in deep trouble of breaking the one rule the police gave him and it was about a whole year of never having to deal with that creep again.
I was still haunted by the whole experience and terrified that the creep might actually come after me for the large part I played in taking him down. Just a few months ago, I received a message from someone who I recognized as a massive victim of the creep's harassment. Or, at least, I thought it was him. When I first saw the name, I felt a bit of PTSD as I was reminded of the horrors I was made to face and endure if I wished to continue to use the site, but did my best to brush it aside. The person I thought it was had endured so much harassment from the creep and was even made an "example" of by the creep and the "power he held over others". I felt really bad for the guy and wanted to help cheer him up after everything he was forced through. After some time, however, my friend who managed to get the creep in trouble suddenly contacted me and warned me that it was the creep pretending to be the victim. I was horrified by this as I really thought it was someone who had risked so much trying to protect everyone only to discover it was the creep causing so much chaos in our lives. I immediately blocked and reported him after receiving my friend's warning. I haven't heard from the creep since, and hope he stays out of our lives forever. I am truly terrified by the situation and just simply don't have the mental capability to go through his harassment all over again. I've actually had some people come to me with thoughts of suicide because of what this creep was doing, and I was desperately trying to talk them out of it. I really hope that creep gets what he deserves for hurting and disrupting our lives so much and that we never have to deal with him ever again.

I gamed with a Grunkalina a few times. With unanimous consent, I booted each. I found out much later they were very depressed *and* self-absorbed people. One took the easy final solution to end their pain. The others became social media trolls.
I used to know some mutuals in my friend group, who would get offended by slightest of things. This was usually any game that has anything to do with being capable of damaging or killing someone's character in-game, which as you might guess reaches from tabletop games like D&D into Minecraft and other generic survival games that these mutuals happened to like. There were numerous cases where me and other people simply couldn't play with them, because they would make up fake rules and then try to force their opinion over others. Perhaps there are some stories about these in Reddit, I dunno since I am not a Reddit user myselif like most of my veteran players are.

I had a GM that was a Grunkalina..... every time we did almost anything creative at all he flied the hell out got mad we where ruining his story and tried to fuck us over for it later. Few hours later he just plain rage quit and said we where terrible players and would never RP with us again.

i ran a west marches server and had someone constantly nitpick and critique every game i ran. (i ran 75%games) that player would always pick fights with every player, and 2 people in perticular. i let it go on for about 2 months. then that player tired to play my real life friends against one another not thinking we were good enough friends to talk in person we did. i brought down the law

I had a very similar interaction like this I a Monster Hunter discord server. This person insisted they were a God at all things Monster Hunter and their builds were perfect, their fashion was perfect, and anyone who had any sort of criticism they threw a bitch fit saying how stupid everyone else was. "If you don't like it them leave the server" was their favorite response, as if it was their server to begin with. It wasn't. They were extremely rude, sarcastic, and condescending to everyone. Eventually I didn't stop myself from talking and tore into them and as soon as I started several other people did as well. They were absolutely fuming and fumbled trying to fight back, but that asshole got what they had coming.

God... I've had to many conversations with people like this. Usually over more serious topics than our fandoms, but it's the same circular logic.
I had a grunkalina for a DM for one session. He was constantly bashing people in my friends group and the dead brother of a friend and coworker of mine. He claimed that group was very set in their ways and classes had to be done a very specific way. Yet pretty much hated anything that didn't come in the Pathfinder Core Rulebook or Player's Handbook of 3.5 saying that anything else was just a cash grab. When I questioned him on how else are the companies supposed to make money and then ask how the game is supposed to not stagnate without updates and new contents he shut up. He really didn't like that I was playing a half elf paladin saying I could have picked a better race and then got on my case for giving my character's noble house the name of Davion (he was a Steiner fan). Needless to say I didn't join in again. If you had a wrong opinion he would let you know. If you called him out on something he'd go quiet and punish you ingame for it.

I have 2 Opinions, with 5e D&D... to Exploit character Creation a little:
1) Human Variant, breaking the Fighter Class with the level 1 Feat.
2) Half-Elf Rogue, and roll up with 8 Skill Proficiencies including after 6th level, 4 of them having Expertise.
The only reason I was able to put up with the video at all was because of the random spurts of sarcasm found throughout the story... like bacon on salad. 😂 (Nothing wrong with salad btw)

that bother her most. Thus lashes out at anyone and everyone. How sad. She needs a buddy.

She does seem to be screaming for help in a very destructive way, while not realising she is doing so. Maybe she'll never get to realise that, but we can at least hope someday she begins to care about how she affects those around her. Maybe she won't ever be able to feel empathy, but I hope she, at the very least, learns how to respect others, someday.

She was kicked from the call or the Discord? Because if it's from the Discord I really felt like she should have not been able to come back. Also wow you guys are all champions for putting up with someone like that. I can be a bit thick-skulled sometimes, or just get angry easily, so me and her definitely would have butted some heads sometimes if I was there.
How was she allowed to stay? How did the mods not kick or warn her on the first day? She should have been banned a long time ago.
