While you have the cab off, weld some washers around the captive nuts for the seats, especially the rear ones on each side. These are common places to crack and rust on GQs due to fatigue on corrugations. Also, it's a good time to take the gutter off under the windscreen, clean and treat the valley with some under body spray. Let rust converter soak in first as you will have corrosion in there. If left long enough, it eats out through the pinch seam above the brake booster and is a PITA to fix.
It's fun watching this. It's the process so many of us go through with builds. Get a new truck, work out how it works and start adding things to make it fit what we need. The you always hit that point of, "I know what I want now" and it's either a full rebuild or buy a new project. Good for you that you're sticking to it. I've been down this road twice with my GQ, the third rebuild is getting closer than my bank account would like!
If your going to be doing lots of water crossing in the future might be a idea to move the back cab vents up . When I did cape York last year that where the water gets in 😅
Great progress. And what a bargain you got there with the Falcon ute. Plus in the future, it could be a cheap source of a barra engine for your Patrol. 😁
The end goal is getting closer, and with the way you're going, it looks like it'll be wicked. And a nice daily-driver you've got. For the price, you essentially bought a barra engine and the rest of the car came for free. 😁😁
100k subs will be easy. But you fellas need to try to get that one episode per week out there. Between Pat, Liam & Dan, that should not be too difficult. I know I get a little disappointed when I wake up on a Sunday morning, & that episode has not been dropped. I started watching just after Pat bought the 80, as I also have an 80, & wanted to get ideas for my rig. I did subscribe & like every episode &.I went back to watch from the beginning too. I do leave a comment every episode, even if it's about a bloody Patrol, as I like the attitudes from all three of you, & how you all have a crack at doing the mods etc yourselves. Sometimes if I have nothing to say, I will just write, "I'll go rhythm " as I know that helps the algorithm Soot is love! ❤ Hahahahahahahahahaha
The comment about tearing a car apart in a day is so true. I stripped my 180 to a bare shell in 24 hrs and it’s taken me 4 years to half piece it back together 😂
I managed to fit a gu ute coil cab sub tank to a factory coil cab gq ute. Just needs the mounts welds on at the middle cross brace. You could use all the lines and wiring and pick up a second hand tank cheap.
Great to see you back online after the holidays, Looking forward to the next installment. Keep up the the great work! Those of you who haven't subscribed, SUBSCRIBE NOW to support the channel. cheers
Love the content, my gq just got the engine back in and everything pretty much ready to go, thisll give me the push to do a bit more work then shes off to the tuner, keep it up boys
you should take the opportunity to replace airbox and snorkle with better flowing units....reduce EGTs, improve turbo response, and improve life of turbo
That black shit entering lungs is always a worry. I only have a few years left, but you guys have decades in front of you and as invincible as you may feel....maybe the barra swap is a bloody great idea? Looking forward to the next video...the chassis swap sounds like its an excellent idea and fixing up all the "crap" is also a great. Go forth young whipper snippers!
Please dont raptor coat it ! 😂
Sunday morning has all the 4b youtubers uploadin' - *kicks feet up*
It's really turned Sunday into a good day! hahahah
Its sick aye
Gotta love it

Not too bad, most servos have it here in Victoria
@@AussieArvos there's probably 15 servos within 20 minutes of me on the Central Coast NSW, only 2 have it now
Ti doors would look good better to mount the mirrors in the corner
