I had an HD28 that I loved. I randomly played a standard reimagined in a store and I liked it a lot more. I traded in my HD and couldn't be happier. Both guitars are just stellar instruments.
Been playing electric too long with the amp too loud, sounded the same to me. I want and HD-18! Only Martin's have the 'Martin' sound. Drawn to a J45 these days.
Hello there. Bought a HD28 today in Holland. (TFOA) -A used one from 2022. Nothing changed since 2022 on the HD28 correct? Should be same as the 2024/2025?
You really need to go in & play them. There is a major difference that can’t be heard on a video. I fact, play as many of each model as you can. I played 2-28’s & 4-HD’s & they all had their special sound.
@@Mike6string I went into a store that carried several 18’s, HD’s, & 28’s. Play them all & several of the same models. They all had their own sound & personalities, even the same models. They may look the same , but sound vey different. Just choose the one or ones that speak to you. Don’t worry about what anybody else thinks. It’s your guitar! Best Wishes! Happy Hunting!
clearly different sonic, D28 seem to more focus and narrow while HD28 MORE Open and deep due to pattern of bracing inside top wood. for my taste HD28 all day.
I hear more treble and higher end from the HD 28. I thought I would hear more bass/bottom end from that one. I just bought a 2008 HD 28. I like it but would prefer the 1 3/4" nut width that is on the ones made after 2017. Both are worthy guitars.

Both amazing but that HD28 oh man!
Same sound
I wish the D28 had herringbone inlay too.

D-28 good 👍👍👍
I like D28 more than Hd28
Why?
sorry, it's much warmer the HD one; I own... and there is no comparison.
❤❤❤

True, I sat in Gruhn and played maybe 20 guitars, HD and 28. I found 1 HD28 that I liked best. I later bought a 28.
You think the d-28 would be better for fingerpicking? That’s mostly what i do. I definitely wanna get a martin

I agree, playing both guitars in person I preferred the HD28.
@ Thanks for your kind reply. I took home a HD-28 as well. Great Guitar!
HDは中域が綺麗に出ていてキラキラないい音ですね。Dは低音の野太いサウンドが腹にド~ンと落ちてきます。自分が好きなのはやっぱりD28のサウンドですね

I like the way the HD28 rings out.
I think it rings out more than any guitar I’ve ever heard
Hd28 all the way!

HD-28 Sound is like a yamaha acoustic.
👏!
Play back toward bridge you get a better sound with Martins.
I think the D28
both very very nice...but the HD one is another thing; I own one HD28....definetely much better.
I have an HD-28V. It is obvious that HD-28 has better resonance than D-28.
D28 Reimagined is the BEST
D28 for me
For me hd28 has more bass...
