Tell Lulu that if she wants to be a fashion designer, then she's on the right track. The "flash" of her book of designs was something I had to do in college to earn my degree in Fashion & Consumer Sciences. It's something I continued to do in my career designing & sewing costumes for theater. Good job Lulu!
What I love about you: You hardly ever get flustered! "It doesn't matter" is a great phrase. I get so nervous measuring to line up the holes precisely when sewing in...and really the less plotting and lines drawn the better I do. You make it seem so easy...and it probably is....but I really stress out every time. That's why I started stitching in by hand papers into envelopes, and tiny booklets for gifts during the holidays, figuring it would get me to loosen up....we shall see. You did another great how to video, just by being you! Thanks Rachel.

I like making journals, art books and glue books with this type of spine-- because they lay flat when you are working in them. You will discover after working in your Christmas journal- which already laid pretty flat- that you will really enjoy this book for art- like painting and collaging- when it lays open and flat.

Lulu's journal is darling! I like that she will be able to add pages with hinges and add bits of fabric, messy threads, and fashion notions. I have found some vintage papers actually work well with water color. I know you will have a great time in this journal Roxy.

I understand collecting art supplies! I have more than I can possibly use during my lifetime. Even worse now I don’t want to use some of my special pieces, so I copy them and save the originals. Crazy I know!!

Awesome !! I love the fabric you used on the outside of the spine. I have a book that I'm going to alter, but still in the brainstorming stage. Don't know which to do yet regarding the pages. Don't know yet if I'm going to take all of the pages out or leave some in and glue two together throughout the book and gesso them or paint them like Tina did cleaning her roller. I thought those pages were stunning !!!

Rachel, I saw another crafter use a pipe cleaner to clean the silver tip of the glue bottle. Just stick it in the inside of the tip and turn and turn till the gunk gets out. Maybe it will help?? Love your art!
