Mako Reactor certainly captured this foreboding feeling of not only Shinra's desire to strip the planet of its energy for their own purposes, but also the feeling of the planet's decay. Compared to when the game was first released to now, the environmental message hits much harder.

I love that FF7 Remake gave us so much time to explore Midgar. Rebirth was good too but, to me, it didn't have the same feeling as Remake. Hopefully part three of the Remake series will go back to the darkness and emotional grip found in Remake.
Watching and listening to this reminds me that I need to replay FF7. Probably played and finished it 40+ times and while I patiently await part three of Remake, this would be the perfect game to play again.
Love that this channel exists. Reminds me of my old days in the 90s running a Square fansite ... except back then video was out of the question. MIDIs and GIFs! 😂❤

Of course they were gonna butcher the soundtrack. Its impossible not to. Ff7 soundtrack is almost perfect the way it is. Changing it could only make it worse imo. I remember my buddy really liked the advent children version of the battle theme (the one on piano) n i told him it’s only “good” because of the original. We listened to the original together and he agreed the only parts he liked in it were the parts that came from the original.

The most atmospheric track in existence! Mako Reactor remake theme on PS4 became my favourite track of generation. Just how beautiful it is ❤❤❤
