Thursday night saw the Dallas Mavericks punch their ticket to the NBA Finals and in the process they became the second major sports team from DFW to reach a championship round in the last 365 days. Elsewhere the Dallas Stars are competing for their right to be in the Stanley Cup Final... meanwhile the Dallas Cowboys are flirting with a 30-year drought from reaching just the NFC Championship Game. RJ Ochoa discusses the state of the Cowboys relative to their neighbors in the metroplex.

I don’t follow other sports but when I was a kid I was raised a Cowboys fan so I rooted for other Dallas teams even though I didn’t move down here until 2020. But when I lived in Virginia I was happy for the Washington teams when they won in MLB and NHL. Of course the one sport that I actually pay attention to is the one where the Dallas team hasn’t won since I started following in 1998 at 8 years old. It’s rather depressing, ngl.
