  • Neurodiverse people would really benefit from avoiding certain thinking errors. Especially considering how those with dyslexia, ADHD, and anxiety (for example) struggle more commonly with mental health issues. This exercise of identifying your thinking errors can help change how you feel and behave. It is frequently used in Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT), a type of therapy whose key principles is to recognize and challenge cognitive distortions or thinking errors that lead to negative emotions and behaviors. Providing this CBT exercise, this video is for anyone looking to improve their mental health and well-being by becoming more aware of their thought patterns and behaviors, whether you are struggling with anxiety, ADHD, other neurodiverse conditions or not. I hope this video helps you to identify and overcome cognitive distortions.

What are the thinking errors that you have trouble with? Making less of things is something that I tend to do; and I definitely use shoulds to put myself under pressure when I shouldn't. 😃🙈

You do a great job of explaining the challenges that people with dyslexia face, and your own experiences and insights make it all the more relatable and inspiring. Keep up the awesome work!👏

I have been diagnosed with dyslexia when I was 4 but was only told what I would probably be bad at reading and writing. I was never told that it also had an impact on my way of thinking. I thought I was just depressed for no reason and I was really lazy until I found your channel just a few days ago! Thank you so much for explaining my weird brain! Everything makes a lot more sense now 😅

It's crazy how much i can relate to those things you mentioned! 😱
I too belittle my achievements, and thereby diminish my self worth.
I also use the word "should" towards my self abit too much at times.
Great video, keep up the good work! 😊👍
    P.S
Could you perhaps do a video about the verbal aspect of dyslexia. To be more precise, the phonological processing part of the brain?
    Thank's! 😊

hm now that i have been out of school for 30 some odd years , the self blame part is there but but i didnt build the foundation of it, i was repeatedly told how dumb & stupid i was, i am how ever slowly dismantling it the biggest lesson i have learned is that while yes i do engage in it ,it was part of my everyday being a child & young adulthood, people forget that we are not a enclosed bubble that just bumps & slides around others, some of us didn't know it until we were told so we shoulder alot of the carp that was delt to us that we didnt have to, so keep going thank you for being here , & remember it took time for the foundation to be built its going to take time to repair the rotten broken parts, & forgive your self of the cracks that show up while repairing it ,yes easy to say hard to do but its worth it .

You are so right I've been dealing with dyslexia since I was born as a child I make good decisions but sometimes the decisions I make it don't come out the way it was supposed to come out cuz I know I was doing good so I'm tired of this

That sounds frustrating. Sometimes when we set goals for ourselves, or expect certain outcomes we sit ourselves up for failure. Especially when the goal consists of loads of things that I need to get done. Or the outcome of the goal might not be within our control. And sometimes we seem to be doing everything right and it’s still not working out. Then the only thing we can do is to say I’ll try again tomorrow.

And the messed up part about it I feel like sometimes I have to depend on somebody who can read me information so imma do the best I can on my own straight up if I'm not going to be rich and be famous then I'll just be the way that I've been it haven't let me down yet

You should try out a text to speech and the app Speechify can you turn printed material into an audio file as well.
