To be honest I saw this hat on another channel and it wasn’t as difficult as yours. Not sure if you’re over explaining to make it look difficult so that people would buy the written pattern or not but if so just sell the pattern to keep people from feeling discouraged 🫤
I typed a long response but then I thought if you are going to second-guess my intention when I put a free video out there at the cost of my own time and effort just because I have a pattern available, there’s nothing more I can say to make you understand. Just watch the other video, we really don’t need negativity here, I already feel unmotivated and disheartened enough.
@@CherilynQ I don’t mean to sound rude or anything I do realize that you put time and effort into making the tutorial which is why I don’t skip through ads when people put up free tutorials just to show my appreciation. But me as the person who’s trying to follow along is also putting time into learning and making the product based on your instructions and it gets frustrating when we get so far into the project to get thrown off due to lack of information. Just hoping it’s not intentional due to selling the pattern as I have seen so many others do. I would rather purchase the written pattern than to have to scrap the yarn and time spent. I appreciate your response and hope that you understand my concerns. I will definitely come back with a update on the final results as I am a big fan of your work. 🙏🏾🤞🏾
In that case, I truly appreciate your honest feedback. I realize a lot of people don't watch a video properly before they ask questions but I am aware this pattern is not the easiest. I do make really easy patterns too but I just thought a little change could be refreshing. I remember looking for videos on advanced patterns as a beginner because I wanted to learned more. I think it's the mixture of the stitch and decrease for the irregular shape that makes it a bit hard to follow. The whole pattern could be done with just sc which is easier but I really wanted this texture, I thought it suits the hat better since it's the impression of a bear. I want to help you and the others complete this project so please let me know where needs more explaining and I will definitely make a second video on that. Appreciate it! ❤

Just finished the hat and it’s my favorite thing I ever crocheted, very cute 🤭. Finished it in two days. I appreciate how I learned a new technique on how to make a double crochet. Thank you!!
i started last night and i’ve just made it to the ribbing portion (carpal tunnel makes it a slow process haha)! i have to say, i’ve never had this little trouble crocheting a hat before. i have so much trouble with making it look neat and i HATE magic circles but i did it right! so excited to finish :)
Made the ears with a little struggle because I was too lazy to search for a stitch marker but eventually gave up and went to find it, and finally got it right 🤭 thank you for this tutorial, the ears turned out so cute❤️
I made myself a cute beanie and decided I wanted some Teddy ears but couldn't find any that looked the way I wanted... until I saw this video, thank you!! They came out exactly the way I wanted. I'm saving this, your hat looks like something cute to try too 💕
Wow, I never saw single crochets and double crochets mixes together, I’m in the middle of making it and it’s turning out really well already, thank you so much for this tutorial! ❤😁
Tysm for this tutorial I am a beginner crocheter andIi spent so long searching for a frog tutorial but then i decided to do yours but green it turned out so cute
I am using a thinner yarn and had to add a few extra rows to part 1/3 of the main body to reach 8.5 in diameter, and I’m working on part two with the 10 rows and curious if I would also probably have to add a few more rows to this section? If you could reply with the measurements of how long those 10 rows came out for you that would be super helpful! Thank you so much I’m enjoying this tutorial a lot ❤️
@@CherilynQ finished it! Took 12h but was worth it… I twicked a lil bit for my nice… used yellow yarn… she looks like a Pooh bear 😭 it’s perfect… nor I need to make one for me!
Might just be me but I'm finding this tutorial really hard to follow. At 24:22 you've told us to fasten off and you cut the yarn but then when we start the ribbing at 25:36 your yarn is attached again. Have I missed something?
I would make a smaller semicircle and sew it onto the inner side of the ear, but you can also just do it half 'n' half in color, although it won't look as good, in my opinion.
What is the length of the chain for the ribbing ? I did 10 chains(2.3 inches) but I think it needs more. I'm wondering if yours is approx 3 inches Thanks 😊😊
It wasn't particular height I guess, more like the shape. The row height of the pattern is the closet to a SC row, so SC will be the best substitute. Replacing each HDC with a SC should do. However, if you wanna use HDC, you can, you'll need to convert the row count into HDC: 1 HDC row = 1.5 row. Since the row count of each section changed, you may also need to make adjustments of the pattern. Hope this helps!
What should I do if I don't want to open it all the way. Will I close the circle in the first few rows then open it as in the video? But the pattern and rows and the increase will be different, right? I'm a beginner so that why it is very hard . 😢
i really like the pattern! i do find the sound of the yarn a bit unpleasant, it sounds like your mic is picking up the yarn and im not sure if its because you're using an asmr mic or something
when you work a continuous round you get that small tail at the end you have to sew away, looks more seamless imo but I can also understand the appeal of a continuous round
Row 12 you said you should have 70 but never said how many I should have at row 11 and somehow I have only 60 is this an error or did I miss something lol😅
You alternative between a dc and a sc, so like: dc, sc, dc, sc, dc, sc,...... This makes 1 row. Then do this row 9 more times, making it a total of 10 rows.
thank you so so much for responding!! so i just crocheted, altering between sc and dc, around the whole ring (rows 1-14 that we worked on) 10 more times. hopefully i'm understanding that right. also how many chains did you do for the ribbing? or is that custom to your liking/head shape? thanks again! appreciate this free tutorial i'm sure it took some time 🤍

I absolutely adore your patterns you are so talented I have already whipped up two hats of your videos ❤❤❤❤❤
Aww thank you so much! 💕🥰💞
I made it and I sell it online, thanks for this tutorial 😍
this was very hard to follow especially the main body. it's cute but I hope there's some written pattern on the vid.
i agree, i just finished the main body after a week :,)
agreed…
Took me 1h for each ear… and I’m 6h in total… 😵💫😵💫😵💫 my arm it’s so sore…. It girly wanted her bonet now
Update… took me 12h and ended up making the rib half the size and gave it to my niece… so cuteeee
agreed main body was so confusing and i had to frog so many times...still not done. thinking about just giving up
Thanks for the tutorial! My hat came out perfectly ❤
this took so long but i finally finished and i love it so much!! thank u for the tutorial!!

Hello! My 10 rows is 7 cm which is 2.76 inches 😊

Great tutorial! I'm looking to make the inside of the ear a different colour than the outer part. Do you have any suggestions on how to do so?
I would make a smaller semicircle and sew it onto the inner side of the ear, but you can also just do it half 'n' half in color, although it won't look as good, in my opinion.
Thank you for your reply ! :) @@CherilynQ
You’re welcome ☺️
this video was so easy to follow!!! the hardest part was sewing on the ears 😅 such a quick work up and i love how it turned out, thank you so much!!
Love that hat so much! but would it be possible to crochet the pattern with only double crochet OR half double crochet instead of this stitch pattern?
The row has a similar height to single crochet so SC is the easiest substitution. The pattern needs to be modified before switching to HDC or DC.
thank you so much !

Thank you ❤
TY I HAVE BEEN LOOKING TO CROCHET ONE OF THESE BUT I DIDN’T KNOW HWO TO DO IT TYYYYY ❤❤
What is the length of the chain for the ribbing ? I did 10 chains(2.3 inches) but I think it needs more. I'm wondering if yours is approx 3 inches
Thanks 😊😊
She said her 10 rows is approximately 7 cm (use a tape measure) u can adjust it to its desired 7 cm length
so cute 😊❤❤
Thank youuu
Almost done! 27:05 *just for personal use* be back soon
I'm wondering if height is what you're going for on the ears, and if these can all be done with a (US) half-double crochet?
It wasn't particular height I guess, more like the shape.
The row height of the pattern is the closet to a SC row, so SC will be the best substitute. Replacing each HDC with a SC should do.
However, if you wanna use HDC, you can, you'll need to convert the row count into HDC: 1 HDC row = 1.5 row. Since the row count of each section changed, you may also need to make adjustments of the pattern. Hope this helps!
How many grams of yarn did it required?
Hi, im a beginner and i already done till level 14 for the hat, but my piece only 7.5 inch and not 8.5inch, should i increase more my stitch?
I suggest yes! Add more rows so that you can reach upto 8.5 length
What should I do if I don't want to open it all the way. Will I close the circle in the first few rows then open it as in the video? But the pattern and rows and the increase will be different, right?
I'm a beginner so that why it is very hard . 😢
The pattern could stay the same if you turn after each round, but you won’t have the earflaps if you close the circle.
Would you be able to make a pattern for this? I’m a bit of a beginner at increasing and decreasing stitches
Hi yes, the pattern is almost done, will release it in a few days 😊
@@CherilynQ hi is the pattern there yet if yes where is it😊
Hey can u do the beanie without the flaps
Not this beanie. I have other tutorials.
i really like the pattern! i do find the sound of the yarn a bit unpleasant, it sounds like your mic is picking up the yarn and im not sure if its because you're using an asmr mic or something
Oh sorry I didn't realized the sound can be unpleasant to some people. I'm not using an asmr mic. I just had to shoot really close to it's clear.
why slip stich each round instead of working a continuous round :0?
when you work a continuous round you get that small tail at the end you have to sew away, looks more seamless imo but I can also understand the appeal of a continuous round
what if i only have 4ply yarn?
I'm using it too! I think u can also use it just try😊
Row 12 you said you should have 70 but never said how many I should have at row 11 and somehow I have only 60 is this an error or did I miss something lol😅
I just went back to where you said 60 and started from there lol I think it’ll work
23:05 i can't get past this part. it makes no sense. what does ten rows ten times mean?
please help i made it so far!! it's driving me crazy its like when it cuts we missed a step

I always do 10 chains for ribbing but it’s just my personal preference. Thank you for appreciating it 💕

What size hook please
hook size is 4mm 😀
Before Ribbing part is what?? I don't understand it what row? Makes zero sense.
