was mostly following till the end, which was the juicy bit explaining dugins actual description of what the future is. except we just get a bombshell dropped on us about trauma without any explanation
Very interesting. The music analogy is perfect, yet «the trauma of consciousness experiencing itself, the pain of it all» strucks me as the inverse of Buddhism. For Buddhism consciousness experiencing itself in a void equals Nirvana, which is complete, total liberation from pain and eternal bliss..
A student came to a Zen master, and said: Teach me about reality. Fine, said the master, take brushes and paints, go sit by the window, and paint the scenery outside. After an hour, the master came by and asked, What do you paint? Why, said the student, I paint that which I see. But what do you see? asked the master. Well, said the student, I see that which is. But, said the master. It is no great feat to paint that which is. The feat is to paint that which isn't. But, Master! cried the student, what is there that isn't? Ah, said the Master. Once you know that, we'll change places. you become the master, I the student.
Very interesting and I largely agree with his formulations. But Time is not created by consciousness, but coterminous with it. Time ends when we end, but there is a transcendental level of which Time is merely an image--Aion.
Time present and time past Are both perhaps present in time future, And time future contained in time past. If all time is eternally present All time is unredeemable. What might have been is an abstraction Remaining a perpetual possibility Only in a world of speculation. What might have been and what has been Point to one end, which is always present. - TS Eliot If we take eternity to mean not infinite temporal duration but timelessness, then eternal life belongs to those who live in the present. - Wittgenstein Do you have plans for a video on Berdyaev? Back to ask, how does this relate to Derrida's Hauntology, as coined in Spectre of Marx? (perhaps too vague a question for a UA-cam comment but worth investigating.)
I had to think on that as well. Because this argument with the music, the first time I heard that was on a youtube channel named CCK Philosophy on topic of Hauntology.
It's an interesting video Mr Millerman but could you please not subtitle the videos with this style ? This constant green highlighting of every word in the sentence is distracting and I'm not able to follow the line of thinking. Btw I appreciate your videos on Heidegger a lot so thank you very much for that ! ! !
Let me recommend you the reading of, professor Charles Upton, "Dugin Against Dugin: A Traditionalist Critique of the Fourth Political Theory". I believe is a serious advice about Alexander Duguin's ideas.
Can we get an opinion on Israel's terrorist attacks? I remember you posting a video relativizing international law in regards to the settlements and was wondering if that included terrorism.
Resonance is a _difference_ between the notes. Time is a difference. Difference between states of reality. And nothing more. All other is illusion of our mind.
Firstly, of course, resonance is not a difference in any of its meanings. Secondly, time can be considered as merely a METRIC of change, but this idea is not only superficial and rather banal, it is also a) controversial b) outdated c) does not solve any issues and is pretty useless in both theoretical and practical sense :)
Experiment. People can read with the sound off. Like I sometimes do when I watch a UA-cam vid by hovering over it from the homepage before clicking into it. But I take the feedback that it's bad.
What Dugin is saying is that you can't handle the truth. However, his theories sound a bit obscure/confusing. I'm a bit skeptical. He inferred the existence of the past. Why? Because there would be no Russian history if that were true and granted he is the ideological dynamo behind Putin's Russia he can't infer that the past does not exist because his hands are tied; he's a political figure and as such not a genuine philosopher. His theories do not revolve around the truth because they can't contradict anything because that would bring into question the veracity of the current regime. Hence the past exists! But does it? Where is it? In historical artifacts which themselves do not exist until observed? That's the factual scientific approach. Unbiased. So how wordy or complicated one needs to be in order to grasp the truth. Even Einstein said if it's true it must be simple so a child could understand it. Personally, I have no qualms against the Russian regime as I know nothing about it. But Dugin does not strike me as a true philosopher because he's an ideologue.

Yes, dugin is antibuddah, he brings endless pain and void in selfdestruction loop 😮
The 4th Political Theory is magnificent.

This is awesome

Do you have plans for a video on Berdyaev? Dugin likes him
(He developped his own ideas on cultural perception of time as a socio-historically conditioned phenomenon)
“… how paradoxical it is to seek in reality the pictures that are stored in one’s memory.” Proust
Why is there no music on this Karaoke track?

Next time I'll do wonderwall

LOL, I know someone who is voting Harris in November; "The significance of the passage of time" and all that stuff...
could you provide more explanation and other videos on this?
It was difficult to understand
Yes, at some point. It is a bit advanced and is also excerpted from a larger lecture. Thanks for the feedback.

Have you read A. N. Whitehead?

I've read parts of it (long ago) and there are serious errors. It still could be a good and interesting book nevertheless.
@@millerman Well, Upton's book has been published this 2024 (almost 600 pages..). I will appreciate your feedback and comments about Upton's 'errors'.
Dugin against dugin came out a long time ago. It was reissued?
@@satyamevojayate5478my copy is from 2018

I knew you were going to mention HUSSERL.…🤡👍🏻
what's with the tiktok tier formatting? you can add subtitles to the video, why are you making ADHD tiktok tier edits where each word is highlighted?
Lol

Definitely distracting

As much as I hate to admit, English is not my first language. It’s not that I need subtitles, but it seems to make the video more memorable.
