the difference is that the regular golfs are mass produced so they are assembled in Mexico, but the Golf R was assembled in Germany.

@@noob5776 only for the USA were they made in Mexico the rest of the world were made in Germany and with the new mark 8 golf they are all made in Germany

The R is pretty expensive for me. I bought my GTI when the scandal hit. It was not easy because everyone knew they could get great deals on the cars since the dealers were kinda revolting by doing deals off the cuff. I had to run to three different dealers to get a GTI with a stick because they were VERY low on stock. The first two dealers I went to had none in stock!
