I thought you only drop videos on Thursday, and Sunday?
@@mylesc99we moved it for Thanksgiving ❤
@@Mrhandfriends Smart idea!
Welcome to Texas! While you are here you should Pittsburg hot links a.k.a. east Texas links & "Texas caviar"
Too bad you couldn't go to the OU-TX game, but the tickets are expensive.
People outside the US: "America has an obesity problem..."
People visiting the US: "Everything is soooo good. Why don't we have stuff like this?"
Now you know.
Australia and the Uk are not very far behind us in obesity stats
I am so glad y'all enjoyed the State Fair of Texas. I'm a lifetime Texan and have been to the Fair all my life. I worked the Fair as a police officer several times in my 36 years. I have enjoyed following y'all.
Thank you Ron. Texas was so much fun for us.
Honestly, I never thought of "American food" as something people from the UK sought out. Until YT videos 😅
Baby H is amazing. She almost never seems to turn down food. ❤🇺🇸🙏🏻
The reason the turkey leg tastes like ham is because of the pink curing salt that they use in hams which gives it that taste. Loving your adventures here in the States.
And the wood smoke.
As an ex-Brit living in Northern California, I’d kill to attend the Texas State Fair. It’s legendary. The food looks scrumptious and innovative, and Texans seem so nice and friendly. Good job, Mr and Mrs H, and Alana.
I'm a Native Texan. I love and grew up south of Dallas. Growing up we would get free tickets to go to the fair in school. Now ,kids even get a day of from school to attend. The food is amazing. The animal shows and firework shows are awesome. If you ever get to go ( I really hope you do) please be careful outside Fair Park and Deep Elum. It's a little shady. Parking can be a pain.
You guys are making great memories with Baby H. Even if she doesn’t remember all this, she can relive it with all the footage and photos you’ve got. What an adventure!
She's too young to ever remember.
Mr H’s face at the funnel cake question 😂😂😂. Mrs H still gets props for attempting a dish with no real frame of reference. It’s hard to replicate those fair foods at home especially the deep frying. Now I want some funnel cake😩
Funnel cake from a fair, any fair really but especially a state fair, just hits different.
That was a loaded question. Welcome to the US; you can plead the fifth. 😃
me too, @christined6321
I was lucky enough to visit the TRF recently and had me some funnel cake.
God I love funnel cake. The only reason I hit up fairs these days. But yeah, I died laughing at the start over that question and the 'dead man walking' soundclip over it.
State fairs are a real slice of America. Texas does it right, too. Glad you got to go -- it's an annual thing for many people.
So glad you all had a great time in Texas and went to the state fair.... thanks for sharing!! 😊😊😊😊
Happy Thanksgiving Eve to you and Bart. Love all of us.
@@Mrhandfriends Thank you... we will be going over to our son's house today to spend time with him, his fiancé and her family, and of course our furry grand pup Sammy! He's a black Lab... he's so cute and funny.... he comes to me for lovin' and Bart for play time ... I don't know who gets worn out first.... usually it's Bart. Sammy likes to play tug the toy and fetch, he's so strong, he practically pulls your arm out ... lol! Have a great day H family!
Alana was DONE on the ride home❣️ I'm so glad you enjoyed your trip to the state fair... corn dogs are my FAV!!! 😊
Good food and sunshine does it every time.
Good parents feeding her yummy food. Gotta be careful with that. Obesity and all.
Just keep her active and you'll be fine.
Also she should be talking more. Don't let her just point at stuff and you get it. Make her say the thing she wants.
Painful to do but it's necessary.
4:03 Mr. H, here in the United States you are allowed to plead the fifth amendment in order to not incriminate yourself.
The best bit of a smoked turkey leg is the 4th or 5th bite. When you've broken through the slightly tough outer bits and into the more juicy middle. Honestly a turkey leg, large fresh lemonade, and a funnel cake and I'm full.
That sounds to me like the perfect fair meal. 😍
I’ve officially went down a rabbit hole of watching British people try our food 😂
Hope you enjoy that Rabbit hole
Makes me happy after hearing so many Americans saying America has no culture
Me, too. If you haven't seen them yet, watch Jolly and New Zealand fam.
7:07 nice to see that *_Lowercase H_* has her appetite back.
Baby H is a foodie and french fry eating beast! I have never seen her decline any American foods.😁
I really appreciate how you guys stopped to talk to and interact with the local people that make the food and own the businesses, in America we have a deep love of our culture, both nationally and more local cultures, so it makes me so happy to see you guys learning about some of the history and culture behind the food and things your seeing. As a Texan myself, I hope ya'll come back soon, we'll always keep the porch light on for our friends across the pond.
Baby H wasted no time on that turkey leg meat!!!!!😊
Texas is the place to be, the place to be ....❤
Y'all should come to the Houston Livestock Show and Rodeo!! Its the biggest Rodeo in the world and attracts millions of people.
I'm a lifelong Texan and I couldn't imagine living anywhere else. I'm glad you folks enjoyed your trip to our state, and we hope you'll come back and see us again. 😊
Baby H was like NOM. lol That kid will eat anything.
Funnel cake was invented in the state of Pennsylvania by the Pennsylvania Dutch! ❤🇺🇸🙏🏻
Love Pennsylvania Dutch food. We spend a time in Paradise, PA, at Frogtown Acre B&B, just for peace, tranquility, and FOOD.
Germans Chocolate Cake invented and served at The State Fair of Texas and it won
On behalf of my fellow Texans I’d like to thank Pennsylvania for making such a delicious dessert.
Y’all really delivered a top tier fair food to the U.S.
Funnel cake. Yes. For those of you who don't know...
It's kinda like a big fresh donut taken right out of the oil and doused with powdered sugar. Only there's a much higher ratio of surface area and the sugar sticks to it.
It's hot, soft, maybe a little crunchy around the edges, and it practically dissolves in your mouth without a lot of chewing.
You get the powdered sugar all over your fingers and face, but it's worth it.
Some add chocolate, strawberries, and whipped cream to it as well
Alan coming in clutch as a cameraman.
That place is a madhouse on game day when Oklahoma and Texas plays. if you ever get a chance to attend that game do it it's an amazing experience it's one of the best if not the best atmospheres in college football
I live in Oklahoma City and I make the trip every year Boomer Sooner
Glad you stopped by Texas! Did you know that by letting your kid try so many different foods at her age, she will continue to have a broader appreciation for the rest of her life? It’s simple neuroscience. Great job!❤
Elana is becoming a ketchup monster😂😂😂
In 1942 Mr Fletcher put in a hot dog booth at the Texas State Fair.
Then he ran out of hot dog buns. 🤯 But he had corn meal! 💡
Birth of the Corny Dog.
Baby H was so tired 😴 but she was a trooper
It’s awesome that the both of you are enjoying Texas and every state that you have visited so far during both of your trips to the US. If you plan on going on more trips over here in the future, come to Louisiana and try some quality Cajun and Creole food.
I feel Brits are so happy in Texas... They got their Texas T-shirts on; and eating good BBQ...
SO GLAD YOU-GUYS ENJOYED OUR STATE FAIR!! HUGS!!!
Trips like this are the great memories of one's lifetime when we look back. Fun to witness at least a portion of your journey in what amounts to my native land. 🤠🐮
Lol Some day Baby H is gonna say y'all I want some biscuits and gravy bbq and corn dog😅
So glad you had a wonderful time here in America 🇺🇸 ❤ West Virginia ❤
What a good little eater she is..
So crazy watching her grow ...
Awesome Texas adventure videos Mr and Mrs H! The food looked incredible...I hope it's all you hoped for. (And people wonder why Americans are so overweight) 😂🤣😂
I love the little interviews you guys do now with the owners of these businesses! 😊 You guys really do go the extra mile to enhance and broaden the content, gives it that TV travel documentary feel
Aww thank you
It’s a lot of fun. Our family has been showing cattle down there as long as I can remember. I’m sucker for their funnel cakes, and corn dogs.
Haha that outro. Baby I passed out like a sack of potatoes. I can remember doing that after trips with my family too
I'm Canadian, just wanted to say that our awesome American neighbors got the best food ( multicultural) in the world bar none! To add, you have a beautiful family and it is also fun for Canadians to watch international families try American food! New Orleans jambalaya and gumbo is my dream ( Texas bbq too) . Have fun !
Glad you enjoy the videos. We hope to get to try Canadian food too someday.
Well Canada is no slouch either, particularly the steaks and seafood. Vancouver is fantastic.
Yay for the world’s cutest and tiniest smoked turkey leg fan! She must have been feeling better by this point.
Loving these vids.
Love and light to you and yours. 🙂
She still wasn't her usual self but she started eating more which made us happy as we knew she was getting better. We better get to smoking turkey for her now.
I'm from Houston Texas and I absolutely love carnival food
Welcome to my hometown and The State Fair of Texas. When I was a student in the Dallas schools (1957-1969), all kids were given tickets to the Fair, a roundtrip bus fare ticket, and a day off from school to attend. Looks like you guys did eat some of the best offerings, but did you go to any of the museums on the grounds? Did anyone tell you to stop at the nearest grocery store and buy a pint of Bluebell Homemade Vanilla Ice Cream? Did you get to go to a football game and tailgate? You haven't visited Texas if you don't get to experience a football game in October!! Looks like you need to plan another trip to see us ! Y'all come on back to see your new family. Today is the day after Thanksgiving and It's sunny and 61 degrees today.
Need a LOT more mustard on that!! Fletcher's RULES!!
Love a good state fair! We have a pretty good one in Perry, GA every October but nothing like the Texas one! So excited the channel is SO close to $100k!
You have to come to Cedar Point, on Lake Erie in Sandusky, Ohio when your little girl is ready for an amusement park. Great food. Amazing location. Over 130 years of history. More roller coasters than anyplace else on earth.
With so much ugliness going on around the world right now, watching your honest sense of happiness, and seeing people genuinely enjoying my imperfectly perfect country that I love so much, just filled up my heart with a quiet and content sense of joy. Glad y’all are enjoying yourselves so much.
♥️🇺🇸🤍🇬🇧💙
If you had attended the Cotton Bowl stadium in October, you could've seen a crazy college football game between the two undefeated Oklahoma Sooners vs Texas Longhorns. One of the biggest and longest rivalries in college football where the stadium is split evenly with fans from each team.
You watched a highlight of their 2021 rivalry game which was insane, and the one last October was just as insane. Went down to the wire.. In 2020, it went into like 4 overtimes.
I’m glad to see y’all getting the standards in food at the fair and thank you for only putting mustard on your corn dogs! The corn dogs are always the best at the fair!!
Mr H...so tactful!
Knoxville TN here!! My husband and I love ya’lls videos!!
"We'll see y'all in the next video." Perfectly done, Mrs. H!
🎉 greetings from coastal Mississippi. I went Texas State Fair in Dallas years ago. Highly enjoyable. Mississippi welcomes y'all 😂
Funnel cakes are the best. Favorite toppings: funnel cake, powdered sugar, strawberries and cream…then put another funnel cake on top and eat like a sandwich…..yum😋
America has so much tasty food to offer and this is a big reason why so many of us carry around alittle extra weight 😂
I get a high from all the dopamine released when I eat a Whataburger meal ,which I limit to once a month
The funnel cake at the California strawberry festival is heavenly. The cake batter is very light and they top it with fresh strawberries that had been soaked in sugar and of course fresh whipped cream.
Sounds amazing
I'm glad you got to go to the state fair. You have now done something that I have never done and I was born in Fort Worth and have lived here all my 72 years. We don't go to Dallas unless it can't be helped. Different feel to the place from home. But we have the rodeo and stock show each year so I don't think I've missed much. Loved seeing the baby at the animal pens.
I was intrigued by the deep fried key lime pie!
Hello to the H family. It looks like you had a great time at the fair. Fair food here in the US is food that is usually found only at fairs, the kind you can carry, and eat with your hands. And they do taste delicious.
October 7th was the red River rivalry and it's when Oklahoma and Texas college football teams play against each other in the stadium next to that Texas state fair
Hi! I live in Ft. Worth and absolutely love your videos. I always think the turkey legs smell better than they taste. So happy you enjoyed Texas!
gotta agree there!
So glad the H Fam is having a great time in texas,
God Bless and hope the rest of your time in Texas is as amazing!
🤗🥰
The butter sculptures reminded me of a story I saw on a history show. There was a woman back in the 1800s, I think, who was trying to help support her family by selling her homemade butter. It was a struggle, because other people made butter, too. So she started shaping her butter into fancy designs like flowers and animals. The word spread, and soon people had to have her sculptured butter for their parties! She ended up making a very good living from it, and she even made some larger ones like the ones you saw at the fair.
I just love how your daughter can convey so much expressiveness, without saying a single word!
Im glad yall enjoyed yourselves at the fair, i know i always do.....cant wait to see the next America tour video...♥
Welcome to my State 🤠🐮🫔🌮🌯🦞🍤🥩🐎
Looking forward to the corn dog and the funnel cake
Welcome to the South where we deep fry any and everything!!
Northern Wisconsin says Hello!
Love the mustard only on the corn dog. Not sure it I agree with the technique. You want the batter crispy. The way to go is a dip of mustard on every bite. Also, if you like funnel cakes. go to New Orleans and get beignets from cafe du mined. It’s not that far from Houston and has much better food.
Glad to see ya'll here in DFW. Been going to The Fair since I was 3 or so (1967 or so). Great fun!
God bless you.
State Fair's rock
Mmm, turkey leg, funnel cake, and an ice cold root beer… perfect meal!!!!!
미세하게 달달한건없나봐요 코스트코핫도그 너무맛있는😊
Looks like Y'all had a blast!!! Great video, Thank you for sharing your experience.
Big fan and native Texan here. Members of my family have been going to the fair since the 1940's. We go every year. We looked hard hoping to see you when we were there this year. So good to see that you enjoyed it. Hope you can come again.
Oh shame we didn't get to see you. Hope you enjoyed it as much as we did
When you're a kid you're excited for the fair because of the rides and games. As an adult you still go and get excited for the fair just for the food. It's sinful and delicious. Once a year type of thing for sure.
The Iowa State Fair is pretty popular. Went last year.. I think over the 10 days it’s held we had over 1 million people visit. They have it in early August so the weather can be brutal, but some of my favorite food must haves are a foot long corn dog, Cajun battered cheese stick(basically like a corn dog but with cheese rather than meat) a gyro, poutine if I can find the stand, a jug of lemonade and a funnel cake for dessert. I try to take a friend with me so we can share the food.. you can eat more that way 😁😉
Great job Alan! Well done! 👍
Glad ya’ll are having a good time in Texas!
Wishing you and your viewers a very Happy Thanksgiving! We're thankful for another Mr. H and Friends video of your trip! Hope you can have some pumpkin pie this week to celebrate! Much love from California!
Ohio State Fair has the huge butter sculptures! Pretty Cool!
They are so good. I can't believe they are made of butter.
Come to a big fair in the US-save about 5,000 calories for the day. And a bottle of pink stuff!
I am enjoying your Texas videos! I am so proud that y’all had a good time here. I absolutely love this channel, it is my absolute favorite out of all that I subscribed to, this is my favorite. Love your family. Love you guys so much. Thanks for loving our country! Can’t wait to see you guys on the next visit! Any plans for a trip in the future? it’s time for you guys to go up into the northern part of our country, for some New York style, pizza, and head to Chicago for the Chicago style, and Detroit for Detroit Pizza. Check out the history on Detroit Pizza! It is a very cool history and place to go. love you guys!
We will be flying stateside next year 100% 💓
That turkey leg brought me back to my childhood. My cousin and I would each grab the legs and we'd munch on it for days.
LOL the funnel cake comparison. Mr H’s facial expressions were priceless. 😂
So glad you guys had fun!
Silly comment to make, but I like that Mrs. H's reaction is immediately evident, with the quick "mm!" and gestures. A universal "yes! Very good, give me a sec and I'll speak on this" of the food world.
I trust Mrs. H or Baby H's opinion rather than Mr. H.
Mr. H , I believe , could eat a tin can of fried raccoon livers and enjoy them anyway.
The boy is hungry.
😂
Happy Thanksgiving to you and your family and friends!
I think i speak for a lot of us here that I'm Thankful for a lot of people and things in my life, including Your Channel.😊
Ohgawd, cracking up over here...tin can of fried raccoon livers... 🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣
My man Mr H's reaction to that trick question was funny AF. Yall are an awesome couple!!
I can't think of a state fair without hearing the rat Templeton from the cartoon Charlotte's Web. The fair is a veritable smorgasbord...that's where a rat can glut, glut, glut, GLUT! LOL! Glad that you were able to enjoy as much as you could.
No one understands it, including me, but while I will not eat a hot dog, I love corndogs. I guess it's because corndogs look different and don't involve sauerkraut. But corn dogs are great with honey mustard (never ketchup, lol).
Corn Dogs should be spiced with either American mustard and ketchup or both together.
The way you keep any deep fried food from being extra greasy is to pull them out of the oil before the bubbling stops. Not too soon because it won't be cooked perfectly, but definitely not after the bubbles have diminished too much or slowed to almost nothing.
The bubbles are heated air escaping, pushing outward. When the bubbles stop, all the air is gone, no more outward push, and the grease is immediately sucked into the batter.
So in order to be able to pull it out perfectly cooked and before the bubbles stop, you need to have the oil temperature right. So a frying thermometer helps, and pay attention to the recipe.
I'm glad y'all had fun a the fair. But now I want a corn dog so bad.
Texas native here, glad you enjoyed the fair. That being said, Minnesota might have us beat for biggest and best state fair. Not sure what kind of numbers they do, but it's pretty massive.
Texas is where it's at. best place in the US.
Any state fair motto - if it ain't fried, it ain't cooked.
