    I tried this method with the Camco RV filter. Results were less then stellar. I still ended up with water spots under the sun. My water has a TDS of 175. Although it didn’t work well for me doesn’t mean it won’t work well for others. Thanks for testing this.

    Thanks as always Phil! I've been using these here in Colorado to wash my car. My TDS is high. . . 280-380. . . if I towel dry the car shortly after final rinse, I'm spot free. . . but if I use my EGO 580 CFM, I definitely get small water spots. . . the Camco RV filters undoubtedly help. . . making whatever spots that DO form very easy to remove. While I'd love a full deionization system, I just can't stomach the initial cost and then the follow-up cost of frequent resin recharges. Thanks again for the tips!

      years back i had a CR Spotless system and i was constantly changing the filter catridges out and it got to a point i just sold it. It also use to get so bad as a water supply feed it burned out my pump on two of my gas pressure washers back then. these filters for me make so much more sense and i never loose flow to affect my pump anymore.

    I'm glad you're showcasing a RV filter. I bought an inline RV filter since I don't have any other means of filtering out hard minerals. My previous method for avoiding water spots was to douse the car with gallons of distilled water. That seemed to work but the filter is more practical. I highly recommend using one.

    I bought mine at Walmart after you mentioned them way back. I don't have a pressure washer but do use a foam gun and 2 bucket method. Fill them both with filtered water, do my initial rinse without the filter, but do all the subsequent rinses with it. For me the best thing about these is NO more water spots, especially in the hot summer days.
    The water in my area is absolutely terrible, too many contaminants to mention. Sincere thanks for introducing me (us) to these inexpensive but functional filters 👍✌️🇺🇸 and made in the USA‼️

    Ever since i saw that video 2 years ago, I’ve been using these filters to wash my car, religiously.
    I live in Texas and we get some serious water spotting in the spring and summer.
    This stuff works great and it definitely helps keep your foam nice and T H I C C
    And now that the 3rd spot in my garage is essentially a dedicated wash bay - I will never wash my car out in the sun. The added benefit of also having an A/C unit is great for paint correction and polishing

    I have been using the Camco filter at your suggestion since early last fall. I don’t use a foam cannon due to limitations beyond my control. I live in north Jersey. I am able to wash my black Mustang every week thru the winter. I’m able to do a “Winter Wash”, in approximately one hour. Finish up using 007 Gloss Enhancer as a drying aid. The Camco filter is BIG IMPROVEMENT verses no filter. NO WATER SPOTS. The car looks great. I get lots of compliments. Thanks for all the great tips and advice!

    I have a very similar setup except I use the Amazon 20-micron filter which is identical to this one and high-flow as well. This one you are using is 20-micron as well from Camco and I’ve heard you don’t want to go any smaller than 20-micron or you lose too much pressure. They make a 5-micron which might be something you should try as maybe it’s doable?
    I have the newer MTM PF22.2 Foam Cannon and it works just fine with my AmazonBasics water filter.
    I also put QD’s on both sides of the filter to take it off when I’m not washing my car.

  • @notta3d
    @notta3d 3 роки тому +1

    My water source is real low to the ground so I would never be able to fit the filter. The only way I would be able to make this work is to add a short piece of hose from the source to get it away from the house. Then I could attach the filter and then attach other end to the pressure washer hose. I'm wondering if all the connections will hurt my GPM though? The only other option is to attach the filter directly to the other end which is the pressure washer. I'm not real comfortable having something hang off the inlet on the pressure washer though. Could put stress on it.

    How many washes can get before replacing the cartridge ? I know it will depends on quality of your water. At $12.50 a pop where say a resin based DI not CR's since the filtration rate is low vs since has poor performance .DI rinse system cost $400 but does 2000 gallons for $100 worth of refillable media. . I still might try one since is much cheaper and don't a tank sitting around in your garage. I try wash early morning or after sun is behind my house. Thanks for all your great info.

    Clear2o.com same style filter, filters down to 1 micron vs 20 micron of the camco. Can also be used with their sediment filter that prefilters to 20 microns. Camco is a "loose" carbon filter whereas the ClearO2 is a solid block. You still have to purge both b4 using.
    I've used both, I can't have it permanently installed so I have to remove it after use everytime. The difference between the 2 is noticeable, with the ClearO2 being the better. It's more expensive but I got mine from a local Walmart & later ordered the pre-filter from their site.

    I just did this test the other day as well. I was curious what it was like without the filter and saw same results as you.... 1.1mm or1.25 orifice in the PF22?

    • @autofanaticcars
      @autofanaticcars  4 роки тому

      Hi Zack thanks for sharing your feedback as well doing the same test i show here. My PF22 is about 4-5 years old and I never changed the orifice and have owned about 7 different pressure washers over the years from gas to electric and it has always foamed amazing for me, I also never once rebuilt or cleaned it out. On my Griots Boss Foam cannon when i switched orifices it made the foam watery so i left that one alone as well as it came in the box. Some have had luck with the orifices when low GPM pressure washers I hear but others have not had much luck. I get emails all week on this scenario but these simple Camco filters as you can see really seem to help a lot with foam density and drying the car. I love the fact its so easy to use and replace.

      It's all up to you mate. I would advise you to just research and come up with the best system that works in your favor. You can go this route and just use these small camco filters but depending on how often you're using them and how much water you're running through them, you will find yourself replacing them quite often if you use them frequently. In my opinion the smarter choice would be to research and find an inexpensive(depending on your budget) deionisation unit that is able to clear your water at a much larger scale. Though they are more expensive, after 10min of surfing online I have found systems that get the job done for well under 200$. So my suggestion is do some extensive research and come up with a solution that will best fix your problem :)

      Riley test your water first using a dedicated lab or have a water specialist like Cullingan stop over to do it for you to see whats going on, as i mention my chlorine was 9x too high at my supply and the iron and minerals were also too high. I will be posting a video in a few days showing the removal of the Culligan carbon block house filter on my main line to show everyone how bad the filter clogs in just a few weeks time. stay tuned for that video, its nasty stuff to say the least.
