Meh, it doesn't hold a candle to how Sonic Unleashed looks in the Hedgehog Engine 1, or maybe in Forces they barely used the potential that the engine 2 might provide.

Normally I’m quite cynic about Forces stage mods, since most people just add more platforms while the length of the original stage remains the same. But here, they are actually extended and a lot of original parts, hell even a cutscene. Without a doubt these mods are superb!
Tbh, with these stage mods… in spite of the Adventure Formula, if you take out Classic Sonic, this is the kind of game we wanted. Seriously, as much as we want Sonic’s friends to be playable again, the Avatar played how he should. Similar to Sonic, but has his/her own moveset. Forces and Lost World both have the same issues, they’re competent games in the sense that they work just fine. Nothing’s broken or glitchy, it’s just how they were designed was meh (Forces) to Bad (Lost World).
@@gameman5804 The gameplay of Forces is nothing offensive but neither very good, is meh, but also pretty boring, the main reason i prefer Lost world over Forces is bc the gameplay of Forces is not something I like to try over and over again to get better every time I play it, and the level design feels so uninspired that just makes it even worse, lost world had issues but at least it had some pretty good ideas gameplay and design wise, I think they just needed to improve the formula, not try...whatever they tried with Forces
@@wolfdragox5563 I never really said which is better, but if you want me to say it, I’m the opposite. Lost World’s issue is how unfocused it is. It has a fleshed out parkour system, but the game doesn’t want to use it and would rather have Sonic at the mercy of each level. One stage is normal, another is ice skating, another is rail grinding, another is stealth, the game as a whole is a mess of experimentation. Forces at least had a focus. Boost was Boost, Avatar was Avatar, and Classic was Classic. (Fuck, I’ll take the bosses in this over Lost World Wii U’s Bosses) And don’t even get me started on Lost World 3DS (aka, Mid 2000’s Sonic in a nutshell)
@@joshth647 Oh Lost World Wii U’s bosses suck. Even if you let them put up a fight, they’re still pathetically easy. Even the Final Boss was a joke. Even though Forces recycles boss setups, and Infinite Phase 2 unfortunately has a similar issue, at least they try to put up a fight. I’m not a fan of the Zavok boss in Forces, but I still think it’s a million times more fun than his bosses in Lost World Wii U. The 3DS version had better boss fights, for Christ’s sake!

This makes me really really sad. Forces could have been an absolutely epic title and once again this proves that fans can make a better game than the ACTUAL PEOPLE IN CHARGE OF SONIC.
Liked that the modder made both levels be of a reasonable lenght for a Sonic game. Sonic Forces levels are hilariously short and felt like the dev team had like less than a year making said game.
I wish that the characters instead of talking through a halogram or transceiver or whatever, they actually do things that have an impact on the stage. Like they’re in a war, sonic shouldn’t be the only person visible in these stages. Put sonic on auto-run, zoom into the background and just let whatever character do their stuff. Like silver using his telekinesis to hurl a huge rock at the giant egg robo, which causes it to fall in front of sonic, initiating a quick time event. Have tails fly overhead opening and deactivating various doors within eggmans base. Shadow occasionally running along with sonic in the background as he helps take various robots out which leads to the confrontation with metal. Like sheesh give the other characters some shine outside of cutscenes and dialogue boxes

Arsenal Pyramid level has such a good soundtrack in act 1 (that was waisted by SEGA for nothing), and hearing it by passing the actual level is just awesome.
C'mon, they already know how to make a good level design in sonic games, the levels came out this short in their time because they had almost no development time for the game.

The fans should continue to build on these forces projects. Since release Classic Sonic has been significantly improved and gotten a Chaos 0 boss fight. Modern Sonic has actually gotten good cosmetics like the Soap shoes from SA2. Two stages have gotten completely new sections that should have been in the game on release. If everything in this game got the same treatment that these mods have done this could actually be a pretty decent Sonic game. All this to say, kuddos to the guys who do this for free, and keep up the excellent work.
Even so, don't let my opinion of this be the weakest game in gameplay boost, it's awful to play this game without drift,also the lack of animations, Sonic's little jump, etc... several factors tell me that this game is if not the worst gameplay boost. But great work from the creators of this mod / hack

Arsenal Pyramid looked cool and was pretty nice, but Sunset Heights blew my mind! And for once, you actually feel like you're in danger and you're doing something about it! And that quick cutscene with the fake Shadow was incredible! I assume some scrapped dialogue was used after that scene, that was pretty cool!
Holy crap, this looks like a real game now. Sunset Heights looks like it takes some cues from SA2 and Generations, and Arsenal Pyramid had strong Unleashed and Colors influences.
I think this is how originally sonic forces would be but the developers of this game just cutted it into seperate stages so they just can say "we have over 40 levels in it"
If Sega sees this, they would make a version of "Sonic Forces" with longer levels, a better story, less frustrating gameplay and about anything positive
This is what, in my opinion, a improved sonic forces level is. Shoving random platforming challenges and obstacles everywhere so Sonic goes slower and the level seems longer isnt making it better and ruins the point of sonic which is to go fast. This mod actually did make the levels longer and more interesting by adding more to the stage instead of just editing the level so you have to slow down every 2 seconds for some platforming
Long stages are really cool for a Sonic game. Too bad Sega scrapped out many of the long parts of a level. This would’ve become a masterpiece if it weren’t for short levels.

There is a video about it in UA-cam but I can't share the link cuz UA-cam deletes my comment. you can also find an unused Area and Dialog in Luminous Forest. You can find it If you stomp Just in time when you get out of Snake's mouth. This also explains why The Music Tracks are longer than the actual levels. Yeah Forces was Rushed, too bad we couldn't see the full potention of this game Just like 06 and Boom.

I like how it expands upon the original stages, it makes it feel natural as well make the levels longer most importantly
This mod made me want a new good sonic game again... with real sonic stages instead of press forward and A a couple of times

This mod is incredible while I still do prefer the vanilla version of forces its nice to have long level's overall.
Alternate title: Sonic Forces, except they actually give a shit about good level design.
