I forgot to mention; fifty videos is great! Way to go, Mert! Also, I bet you can easily find people who want pieces of the trees you take down. What a great business you’re in! I’m envious! 👍👍👍👍
Gord Rock thanks Gord!👍. I save only the best if what I find, because there is so much volume! I have a couple friends locally that came by occasionally before the pandemic but you would be surprised how hard it is to give it all away! I have shipped some to FL, MI, ME and TX but that gets expensive in a hurry 😢.
ThePapa1947 thanks Gary! The cup of coffee was supposed to be that cup, you know, that grandpa used to sting for a week from before gram took it from him to wash!🤣. Rustic! Thanks again, stay safe!!!
Carol Crump thanks Carol! I assure you we are as safe as we can be when it comes to our really job! If you watch the sawer he explained to the guy holding the branches back what was going to happen and where to go! Thanks again!
Allan Blair thanks Allan and welcome! You should definitely jump over and check out Gord, or any of the folks I sub to. They are far better than I in the complexity of their projects! Thanks again, hope to see ya around!
I love watching all of your videos. Only fifty for now but 100’s more to come. Thank you for sharing your donut video. I love how everything turned out. Have a wonderful Memorial Day.
John Walsh thanks John! I’ve been on a diet since the world got up ended! I see it I eat it, but I don’t go out of my way got get it! So the chocolate frosted donuts haven’t been on the I see it list in quite some time!! Thanks for watching!
Dennis Beamish thanks for watching Dennis! The process is something I gleaned from Capt Eddies website. Boiling is supposed to release the tension within a bowl when turned green. I typically boil the water and drop the bowl in. It remains in the boiling water for 1 hour for best results. I haven’t done so in a while only because I have finally built up a stock of dry blanks that I have been pulling from as of late and I have been doing smaller projects. I do intend on completing a video explaining all of the benefits that I have found but finding the right piece of wood and time to figure the production out has been a challenge with work being busy! Thanks again!
Fifty videos is awesome! And love the donut with its accompanying cup of coffee, plus learned a new trick from you to make walnut show even darker by finishing with black CA, so thanks for that as well.
Elie Kochman thanks Elie! The black CA gave the walnut a little darker chocolate look. I probably should have used it on the donut, but you live and learn! Thanks again!
Good looking donut, Mert. Made me hungry when I saw the completed job with coffee. It's great to see you back. Like I said before, business first and we'll be here when you return. Looks like you could have made more than fifty donuts from that tree. Stay well. Bill
William Ellis thanks Bill! I will continue to just do what I can without getting too overwhelmed. I need to find a high school kid to be the video department 🤣. But alas, I’ll probably stick to the current plan of attack! That tree was sent directly to the mulch yard where someone local will receive a beautiful front yard! I have collected way to much material already and the wife has me on lock down... NO NEW WOOD!🤣. Thanks again, Stay safe Mert
Turned out nice, looks like it was fun to turn. Took me a while to figure out the second thing you made was a cup of coffee 😀. Glad to see you’ve gotten some work in as well. Those winds were pretty nasty, figured you’d be out cleaning up that mess.
Marcus Kellermann thanks Markus! Nasty wind isn’t the word for what that was. I’ve never seen such wide spread damage from wind. Typically there are centralized pockets. Hope you had a good weekend away! Thanks for watching!
Hi Mert, Congratulations on 50 videos. As others have already said the mug of coffee to go with the donut is brilliant. The donut itself looks good enough to eat as well. Great work Mert. Take care. Cheers, Huw
Wooden-It-Be-Nice thanks Huw! The coffee cup actually didn’t come into the plan until I pulled the piece of boxelder to hold the donut in the glue block. 🤔. I was hungry the whole time! 🤣. Thanks again, Mert
MrTaco250 thanks Stuart! We only took a couple weeks off in the beginning, and as you can see we were essential! I think a dozen would be far more than I would want to make 🤣😜. Thanks for watching!
Great looking donut, buddy! Looks like we had similar ideas, Mert, but we went about it differently. Mine premieres today at 3:30 PM central. The cup of coffee was a clever idea. Fifty is a good number. ;-) Billy
Billy Burt thanks Billy! 👍. I’m going to try and drop in today!!! I don’t have to work so it’s a possibility.... unless I get involved in the shop! 🤣. I’m excited to see the way you frosted yours, it looks so real! Thanks again!
Ha ha ha ha ! Good one Mert😁 Didn't see the project in its entirety until the very end. And then Wap! Upside the Head😎 Open question: Who's going to do a jelly or creme filled ? Stay safe. -Mike p.s. How long did that take ? Fifty minutes or so?
MPart thanks Mike! I thought about how to simulate a jelly but figured I better stop thinking about it before I tried something crazy 🤣. Actually was roughly 2.5 hours of footage, without much sanding included. Thanks for watching!
Rick Chapman lol! Thanks Rick! The chocolate frosted is my favorite, and making this only made me want to make a trip to DD’s. But alas... stay home 🤣. Thanks for watching! Ps you might check this “50” pieces again! 🤔😜
Hi Donuts and coffee just right for my fifty + 4 years since I past my driving test on the 27th May in the UK. We were changing the road signs from UK to continental and had to learn both for the question and answer
Dave’s Creations It was over 50 just getting the equipment out there! Thanks for watching! I’ve been on the volunteer fire department for 13 years now. It always seems to interrupt when I’m busy and not when I’m bored! But it’s something I do, not for me or my family but, for my community. It started out as just something to fill excess time and it grew to so much more. Thanks again for watching Stay well Mert
These "Donut Challenge" video's are getting interesting. Especially liked the combo of walnut and oak. Looks great. Congrats on fifty video's. have a good 1, Dave.
Dave Porter thanks Dave 👍. I’ve been trying to catch as many as I can! And it’s cool to see everyone’s take! I feel like I “cheated” and skimped on the segmentation but I’m ok with that 🤣

Carol Crump thanks Carol! I assure you we are as safe as we can be when it comes to our really job! If you watch the sawer he explained to the guy holding the branches back what was going to happen and where to go! Thanks again!

John Walsh thanks John! I’ve been on a diet since the world got up ended! I see it I eat it, but I don’t go out of my way got get it! So the chocolate frosted donuts haven’t been on the I see it list in quite some time!! Thanks for watching!
Hi Mert! I notice in your intro that you show a clip of boiling a bowl! What does that do and how long should I boil it? Thanks. Dennis
Dennis Beamish thanks for watching Dennis! The process is something I gleaned from Capt Eddies website. Boiling is supposed to release the tension within a bowl when turned green. I typically boil the water and drop the bowl in. It remains in the boiling water for 1 hour for best results. Hi Mert, Congratulations on 50 videos. As others have already said the mug of coffee to go with the donut is brilliant. The donut itself looks good enough to eat as well. Great work Mert. Take care. Cheers, Huw
