    when your done using.
    cover with a damp cloth, and a heavy plastic, and a good elastic band. we do this on the pug mill

      That's an interesting idea. The pug mill I use in a studio is the same with a cover. However it is cycled way more often! How frequently do you use your pug mill? Does it go weeks between uses?

      @@PotterybyKent You could put a little wet sponge inside the outlet and then a plug over the sponge, maybe, for same effect. Just guessing I haven't tried it.

      The sponge (/damp cloth) will act as a moisture reservoir for the clay. So it would seem either it is sealed so water doesn't escape and the slip stays liquid, or water is coming out. It that case, it is really a question of how long until it dries. Something damp inside will extend the period but I'd be curious by how long.

      @@PotterybyKent Im not sure how long she goes, its my mentors. but im pretty sure you could go a while if you wrap it tight enough. unless there is air movement the water shouldn't go anywhere.

    Hi Kent! I noticed that when you turn the handle, it moves the spigot against the bucket. I'm wondering if you might experience failure of the seal in time because of this movement.
    Could a bracket or a custom wood clamp be attached to the shelf such that the spigot is held in place to the shelf to minimize this movement? It would have to be in two parts so that you could remove it to move the bucket. I'm glad to see your innovative iterations as you share your journey with us. 🥳👏

      Yes the walls of the bucket are rather thin and it does flex. I'm going to keep an eye on it and see. I have been thinking of a 3d printed handle so it's easier to apply the torque in the right spot and that might help too

    That silicone won't hold. The buckets don't bond to the silicone.
    Take the seal off and sand the cut out so it's smooth and doest have any burrs.
    That's a really clever solution. I am just getting into casting, and I am thinking about building a similar setup.

      The silicone bonded just fine and it's actually been several weeks since I shot this - no issue. Feel free to do your as you'd like of course.
