Thank you to Miu Miu and Miuccia Prada for giving this short film the green light. To see beautiful talented women of color of all ages and body types representing a major fashion label is truly a revolution. To see Black women portrayed as complex people and not as as some exotic commodity is a reason to celebrate.... loving this!

Ava as a Director and Bradford Young a Cinematographer are quickly becoming one of my favorite Cinema duos. These two are creating some amazing and timelessly classic images.
Six years later and I'm right back. This is one of my favorite short films ever! What a splendid job marrying all avenues of art: fashion, music, acting, cinematography, and the like. I only dream of creating whole works as astonishing as this.

I have this saved in one of my playlists. It was the first I’d known of Ava and I was hooked at first sight in 2013. I didn’t know then what it would get me through. Even watching now, I am amazed at the insights and talent across every detail of this video. It takes me back to the moment but also reminds me of how grateful I am to have gotten through, and to know that someone understands on this deep level.

this touched me in such a way, I've been sick for the pass few weeks and my girl friends have showed up and made me feel the love, one of them sent me this clip and I swear i started to feel sooo much better,, the clothes are to die for,, the music is just over the top awesome, and it is cast very well,, looking forward to more of her work

I LOVE the way Ava uses lighting in her productions. Yes, the black women happen to be gorgeous, but she makes them luminous. I don't see it often at all in mainstream productions. And this may be the best performance I've ever seen out of Gabrielle Union. Gotta admit I never thought she was this talented. Brava, Ava and the cast!

I've watched this film multiple times and each time I'm moved by the beauty of it. I feel any/every woman can relate in some way to this film, but as a black woman, the story and images evoked throughout deeply resonate within me. Thank you Ava DuVernay! For those of you sleeping on Gabrielle's talent, please check out her other work. I know she doesn't strike most as that "unique, 'indie' actress, but the girl has some serious acting chops that Hollyweird [deliberately] fails to recognize.

Great! I actually got the tracks from the end credits. However, except for Goapele, quite a few of the tracks are harder to find on more well-known sites, like, say, iTunes or Spotify.
But I did it, and I'm soooo happy that I did!
