This video has brought tears and memories of my baby girl Fifi. She came to us at three months and was the happiest little dog in the world, loving and friendly. We all loved her. As the years went by our lives changed, new home, new job, it took me two hours to get home from work, my daughter lived in Europe and I had to fly by myself without even speaking the language because my daughter was in the hospital 7 months pregnant with a healthy baby, her water had broken but the doctors decided not to do a c-section. My daughter became septic, her life was saved by my beautiful granddaughter died. I got there 2 hours after but I was offered a chance to hold her so they took me to a room and handed her little body to me. I was holding an angel by then. There was a family estrangement with my son in law due to the fact he did not agree to the doctors bad decision making while the rest of us did. My daughter took his side and never spoke to us again. My heart broke, I still had to work and take care of a home and a family. I had to harden my heart so I could block the intense paint I was living with. My Fifi paid the price, and though I have asked forgiveness many times and still cry over her after more than ten years I still live with the regret of not being the mom for her she needed in her last months of life. She was blind and would fall in the pool, this situation begun to annoy me, she then developed gastritis, had to have a meal cooked just for her, late at night when my husband and I got home, she had a huge incontinence problem. I would often get home and find my entire living room soiled. Finally someone mentioned pampers so we starting doing that. She spent her days alone due to our schedules. What was once a happy beautiful little dog became a blind, unresponsive old dog with health issues. She lived with us for 15 years, I was her mom, and yet I was the one who made the decision to put her to sleep. I was so emotionally destroyed and had missed so much work due to my overseas trip and having to arrange and pay for my little granddaughter’s funeral I decided to go to work that day. The last time I saw her she was laying in her little bed and looked up at me when I told her I loved her, she then put her head down as if knowing everything. My husband took care of everything and by night time even her little bed was gone. I will never forget her, I will always regret not being there for her when she needed me the most. My only hope is that she is waiting for me in Heaven with my loved ones and I will be able to hold her again and watch her smile at me. I still love and think of you my Fifi and I always will. Thank you for all the smiles you brought to so many of us including family and friends. Thank you for being mine and for your little soul to forgive me. Be happy my baby girl. Just be happy!
We all do things we regret. You were under a lot of pressure. A lot of sadness too. Look to the Lord to help you to stop punishing yourself. Let it go. God bless you.
