I started this crazy collection about a year ago and have 15 that I am now weeding through as I continue to buy more. The inexpensive homages are the way to go to determine what you like best. For me, I like numbers (at lease 3) and a date. Not crazy about day and not liking the roman numerals. Visibility and contrast is really important and I have sold two that are too hard to read. It takes time (no pun intended) to figure out what you like and in hind sight it is best done with inexpensive watches. Thanks for the vid and I completely relate to the reference to wife rolling eyes 🙂
I understand you, man. I have a collection of 40+ watches, most of them homages, and trying to figure out what is the style I like the most and identify with it to buy the real thing! 😅
@@Notreallyhere817r thanks for watching! Still have the box, and the gold day date (currently being auctioned on eBay). Everything else has been sold. It was a very valuable experience on many levels. I'll be going into more detail when I do my next SOTC video.
@TuneTimeOttawa I've brought 8 pagani watches so far and I absolutely love them. I received there newest homage to richard Mille today and it's absolutely beautiful.
Thanks for watching 😎 Indeed, this collection had the 2 Yachtmasters that I wanted to try. I've now realized that I don't like watches with a rotating bezel. My life doesn't require a diver or a GMT. So far, I've sold off 6 of those 10. The other 4 are still for sale.
Agree with everything you said about being a newer collector. I think it was a smart buy for a guy trying to figure out what he likes and it seems like minimum exposure if you've got the Ebay thing going. I have a Proxima (sw200, teal snowflakes yikes I'm a skier) and and RZE Endeavor (Ross Ice dial like a white birch GS) with a Miyota. I love them both! Next level is a Seiko turtleback then a Hamilton khaki field titanium and Christopher Ward trident 300 in blue. I'm in about 3k all total. Next I'm going one more step up with a GS Evo9 or a used JLC Polaris. Thanks for the show on an important topic for sooo many newbies like me.
I have very mixed feelings about Pagani Design. I own quite a few of them but I have had more problems/issues with this brand than any other. I haven't bought one now in quite awhile. I hope you didn't pay more than about $500-$600 for this collection.
I was happy with what I paid for the collection. Of the 20+ Paganis that I've owned, I've only had one with problems, and the seller gave me a refund. The others have been trouble free.
All pagani have issues be it sizing issues everything way too big, sharp bracelet, QC issue. And even if everything else is perfect you have that stupid brand name on your watch
@@garylangford6755 thanks for your comment. They are a lot better now than they were a few years ago. It's also important to note that almost everything being sold on Ali Express at deep discounts are units that have QC issues. Hence the discounted prices.
Nice collection. But if I was in your shoes, I would sell all and start a "quality" Swiss three watch collection. May I suggest a Tudor Ranger for starters? You may not need anything else further.
That's the road I'm on. Want to narrow down what speaks to me. Tudor Ranger doesn't do it, but Nomos does. And Omega's railmaster. Take a look at my other video covering the BBC state of my collection
With these 10, that makes a total of 21 Paganis in my collection. No issues at all for me. Sounds like you got a string of bad luck. San Martin is beyond my price threshold for a Ali Express brand. Even the Baltany pushed my limits......

I'm one Pagani from a box of twelve. All work and look great. The only regret purchase was the doxa 300t homage, the bezel is way too shaky.
And now I have one too many 😅
I have 13 PAGANI daytonas, 6 PAGANI speedmasters, 1 submariner, 1 GMT, 1 yachtmaster plus many Addesdive, Watchdives and San Martins.
@@JohnDoe-bn4gh thanks for watching 😎
So you brought a collection and basically sold everything including the box 😂

@Notreallyhere817r the perfect balance of price to quality
If you wear them and like or love them.. you are doing great.. I think they make some very interesting and kool watches. Good for you.

Once I sell off the ones I don't like, I have my sights set on a Nomos
Love Nomos and all of the German watches that I've seen and a Lange is my grail, but I'd rather have a beach house!@@TuneTimeOttawa
Feel lucky you didn't need a titanium yacht master.

Time is a dead god Thoth 🌹🌚👍 Rest in the good news 🌹 okay bye
Are you crazy ? I own 5 paganis 3 are broken. Poor quality control and no customer service.Avoid and buy San Martin.

I like Pagani but have to agree the customer service is basically non existent.
@@angelvalle6515 it certainly depends on the seller.
Which seller on aliexpress do you prefer for pagani watch?
