I thank George for being part of my guiding light in life! There is a reason 99% of people are not famous, or don't make it to a certain stature! This episode truly highlights when and why that doesn't happen. For me, I can't imagine a better theme song to wake up to in the middle of the night and to know their inception of the show is so fragile. The George Lopez show meant a lot to me as a young adult and helped form my opinions on a lot of issues. There are plenty of shows that do the same in a long line of broadcasting history, but this one helped form my social parameters.
Rick Glassman is maybe the best interviewer I’ve ever seen. His entire goal is to find out what it means to be human. We get to see him right now in his early years. We’re lucky.
@@Javmon9 you can’t escape ads. Without ads what’s going to pay for the podcast? They are an inevitable part of any form of entertainment, especially podcasts
"I know what I mean to me.. I don't care about what I am to anybody else" Holy shit, George. Thank you, Rick : ) This is amazing. Also, your dad's hair truly is really amazing
George saying he doesnt talk to the audience yet still acknowledging people like Russel Peters or an Andrew Shultz use the audience in their act is so cool. Love how much he respects comedy.
Podcasts are such an interesting thing that I’m very thankful for. There’s so many famous or at least fairly well-known people who are guests on podcasts I’ve listened to that I knew almost nothing about prior to listening to the podcast. Sometimes I may have even formed a negative opinion about the person that wasn’t really based on anything substantial. These long form talks with good hosts really help you get a pretty good idea of who a person is and I like how they’ve helped me gain newfound respect for many of these folks. Like George Lopez.
Rick, Grorge Lopez is in my top 5 comedians. I only got thru 36 minutes (I have to run errands), but I like your dry humor and interview style. The on-screen graphics are a nice touch too. Subbed.
Just finished the Pod, I think you're very misunderstood by people who try so hard to be normal and in so many instances of following your career I've seen people in the industry try so hard to avoid the funny like when you were on Bobbys show recently. I've even been saying Bobby is being lazy and censoring himself from Tigerbelly to badfriends but when they go with it, I find it always works. It makes me appreciate your talent and the hard work you put into everything. Thats why George appreciates you and sees the funny which made this serious in depth convo about the industry entertaining and funny at the same time.
Was waiting for this episode!!! It’s awesome to see George Lopez hitting the podcast circuit. He has great stories and life experiences. Rick, the questions you asked were hilarious! 👍
The first comedy album I ever owned was a George Lopez album. It's crazy to see two of my favorites from different generations on not one but two great podcasts. Thanks for some of the most interesting and honest conversations I've heard in a long time.
Yes! This is exactly what I hoped it would be. You two need to make this a regular occurrence. The dynamic between George's old school style and your fresh goofiness made him the funniest straight man to your jokes. Great work Rick, Betty, and the whole tyso team. Every episode has been better than the last! 👏👏♥️
This show is becoming one of my favorites to watch. I love your personality rick! It just it's that perfect awkward spot on my funny bone. Meaning that I love your awkwardness and it makes me laugh a lot. Plus all the cool editing stuff that you do is just so funny! This is one of the podcast that I probably laughed the most at!
Your podcast is great, Rick, and George was a great guest! I personally have become a solid fan of yours and have really enjoyed getting to know what you're like by observing you in this medium. I get your sense of losing privacy in doing so, but you're someone special that should be known. You're always honest and that authenticity is a righteous characteristic. Much love
Lol you can tell Rick was caught off guard with how well the “George, George? George” went he almost forgot what he was talking about. Good stuff Rick 😂 the bit finally paid off !
Love you Rick, keep it up man. Side note, getting my first real deck for MtG this week. You're the one who got me into it, and now me and my friends are in a discord group with a couple of other players in my area and we are going to get together in the next couple of weeks.
George Lopez went to elementary school with my dad and my aunt. He was always in my aunt’s class and told me she never liked him really cause everything was always a joke to him. I looked at her and was like “Tia, that turned out to be a good thing!” She laughed and said “oh yea huh?”
Interesting. I never found him to be funny, but he seemed to be a good dude. This makes it seem like he could be lieing which could taint that a bit. Maybe it's just that he never thought of himself as funny, but others perceived him differently so he never realized it before trying stand up. I'm gonna go with the second one.
@@cornbredx i agree. Given the upbringing a lot of kids in that neighborhood had (my dad included) self esteem wasn’t a high priority in raising kids back then.
He literally said he wasn't funny in school on the podcast haha. And didnt get into being funny till he was older? So...... Maybe a different George Lopez they went to school with?
Rick, have known your name for a while, but really just started listening to your stuff lately. And I have never, ever, with any other comic, smiled so big and laughed so hard, while also feeling a real connection and sincerity with every sentence. I mean that bro. Keep it up. On another note. I called better help when I realized my #1&2 we're Luis j Gomez, and Rick Glassman. They said the couldnt help me anymore, I was too far gone.
I watched both podcast and they were great and like George I get it I get the humor the editing and the work thanks for all the entertaining content and mostly the laughs
This might be weird to say, even insulting. But Rick is reading this. I don't think I'd be a plan of Rick's stand-up. But I'm a big fan of watching these videos, The authenticity, deep conversation, silliness, And that's okay, I think. We're all a bunch of stuff that we can give. And we're all a bunch of stuff we receive differently at different times for different reasons.
my childhood dad was bill cosby, then george lol and my lil sister who is 8 yrs younger so she only had george on tv and she used to say he was her dad LMAO best show on tv i wish it was online
I've been skipping alot of my normal podcasts because of how stale everyone is getting ...... but not this one. Rick keep it up brother.

I feel bad but I skipped the live Bad Friends, can't stand live podcasts
I stopped listening to all podcasts for 3 months, but I consider TYSO and Trash Tuesday to be self-care.. so I would continue to check in each week.
Haven’t watched BF, TB, JRE… completely dropped YMH (still love it, just don’t have the time) & TFATK.
Still watch TYSO and Tim Dillon, tho.
Yeah I’m with ya. I can’t stop listening to Matt and Shane’s secret podcast as well. Solid stuff over there
Rick is severely underrated. His first appearance on Bad Friends is still hysterical to me.
That episode led me to Rick as well. Tank you bobby
The whiskey ginger episode is so good too. Feels like a beautiful fever dream
Bad friends episode is what brought me here as well.
