- Wow! Some magic happened in the bar while we continued to experiment with frozen drinks using the method from Dave Arnold's Liquid Intelligence.
The Baldoria vermouth we used in the frozen martini is fantastic and Curiada is offering free shipping on any cart with a Baldoria bottle in it - bit.ly/shoptequilandmorehere - I highly recommend giving this vermouth a try.

Is the Negroni the most overrated drink?
Yes
Could you make.... Kykeon, THE DRINK OF HEROES.
From going around and looking it is made of.
- Permian Wine (From Greece)
- Whiskey and/or Barley flour.
- Mead and/or Honey
- Herbs... or crush your herbs into a liquid and put into drink.
- and enjoy with goat cheese... some accounts say it is shredded into the drink?
- Some accounts say, have a onion on the side.
Now i'm super curious and would really like to see Greg make a frozen Cosmo!!
Now we need a whole episode for the Ango Ice Cream cocktail! 😀
I would love a proper episode where that Angostura sorbet gets perfected
YES!!
Yessss
Yes! Maybe even using an ice cream machine like the Ninja one!!! OMG
Yess
Greg & Meredith owe it to humanity
meredith is just calmly talking about how insanely good the drink is while greg is actively going bonkers
Mad scientist mode was activated
@@ericcipolla we encourage mad scientist mode 😆
I loved Meredith’s quiet “oh fuck…” after her first sip. Told you everything you needed to know about how good it was.
Might have something to do with the fact that Greg was hammered
I think you mean ango bango
The frantic goblin energy drunk Greg gives is amazing
The more drunk he gets, the more like Jack Black he becomes
@@maxx_2245 "RRRRRRRRRAKAKAKAKAAAOOOWWWW!!"
@@maxx_2245 I don't think I would've ever put that together but it's just a good description.
Did you see his crazed expression when he considered adding egg to the frozen mai tai?
The continued growing involvement of Meredith on camera has been one of the best parts of HtD this year.
We’ve got the host, we’ve got the announcer, we’re a house band short of a talk show
Not to be a lesbian, but god meredith is so handsome..
Just want to acknowledge how articulate Greg can be while hammered, its kind of the pin in this whole show.
That’s how you spot a pro
"Shall we add an egg"?
"No"
"Because it would turn into ice cream"
"I'm getting an egg"
Y’all nailed this episode! Go sober up and get us the refined angostura ice cream drink recipe!
You really need to return to this sober to show proof of concept. Then pitch Ben or Jerry or both on a high proof ABV ice cream line.
*I have often thought that just serving ice cream as a dessert kinda limits the potential...personally, I would like to see ice cream entrees, breakfast (and lunch) ice creams.
Now that angostura ice cream exists, I am not entirely sure that Greg can remain sober long enough to make an episode ever again. He has found his kryptonite.
He's gonna try it sober and hate it watch.
@@jaytucker4338 here in Italy I've seen fancy restaurants serving savory ice cream (or sorbets) entrées, like tomato soup. But until now I've only seen this trend applied to high end places...
Greg drunkenly discovering things is my favorite genre of videos these days, both this and the viewer suggestions episode. I like Meredith being a larger part of these too, she makes it more of a conversation than a commentary.
I love episodes where greg works with luxardo cherries or olives because he CANNOT stop himself from eating 3-5 of them everytime he makes a drink and i relate to that so much.
any of those cherries in jars and all that. i will get them just to eat the cherries on their own.
I would sit and eat a whole jar of Luxardo cherries if they weren't so darn expensive and I didn't need them for cocktails. Have you ever tried Hotel Starlino cherries? Equally as good, if not better.
My dad was a cab driver and ALWAYS ate at least two jars of Maraschino Cherries every shift. Half the cars in that cab company STANK of cherries. LOL.
18:32 ''We've got to save what we got here.''
literally next cut - glass empty
Greg? Greg where did the angostura ice cream go?!
I love the afterparties. I really don't know why they aren't doing as well, they're not that much different from the normal content. They remind me of the peppermint patty episode which I think we can agree is one of the best, plus you're usually drunk which I think is a clear bonus. I do think it was a good idea to stop putting afterparty in the title, but I guess we'll see how it goes
I think the rambly quality that happens is not for everyone. Tbh I skip around a lot more in the after parties than the regular videos. Obviously this is the flavor that many viewers enjoy best and I'm glad they spend the time and energy to produce them, just trying to give insight into your conundrum.
They’re fun and definitely more “intimate” and natural feeling if that makes sense. I think a large portion of the audience just prefers something that executes a clear idea rather than something that’s just a bit more random
Agreeing with Ozymandias here. The Afterparties are great for the core fans who want more access to Greg and Meredith as people. The broader audience is more interested in the video as edutainment.
Personally the film chat doesn't do it for me, I'm here for drinks content. This Afterparty was a massive hit!
The afterparties being different is a good thing, even the difference is just a tweak in the equation. It's not unexpected for the newer "variant" to lag behind the more established content. As long as the variant helps the primary, it will be worth doing. I find watching Greg work through cocktails analytically to be the singular thing I get out of either style the most, and that happens in both so they both hit a sweet spot for me. The trick for the artist, in this case a UA-cam content creator, is to produce art for people who care more about the art than the artist and vice versa. Chasing the audience is both necessary and fatal at the same time. It's the paradox of content creation. Just look at ESPN or MTV.
As a man who has made ice cream commercially I would recommend using xanthan gum to make a sorbet, it just ends up being easier, but got ham that ango sorbet sounds fantasmagorical
Yeah using xanthan gum would really help the texture live through the ice melting, great idea!
or CMC, and inulin
You think gum arabic would work? I'm pretty sure he's make gum syrup with it before, so he might have that lying around the house already.
Is this (xanthum gum) instead of the egg?
@@Lauren_P_ as well as, i would assume
Lickid Intelligence
I thought i heard him say that 🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣
Lol u beat me
Glad Meredith vouched for the drinks being good, because Greg was drunk enough that I wasn’t necessarily going to believe all the raving. I really enjoyed Greg getting to “mad scientist” stage with the angostura ice cream.
I would love to see you guys literally come up with a recipe for the Angostura Sorbet in the end. Sure, this was a Drunk Greg madness induced idea, but it sounds insanely good.
I would love to see a whole episode about you workshopping the shit out that ango ice-cream.
concur. god I hope this happens
second
My god, that ice cream needs to be it's own refined episode. Also, Military themed drinks, the bootcamp cobbled cobbler?
Please perfect the angustora ice cream recipe, the world needs to know!
THIS^ Bitters ice cream sounds AWESOME!
His unrestrained joy at a drunk discovery that he loves is reason enough why everyone should watch the afterparties
an episode where you create custom drinks based on your boot camp experience would be interesting
Good idea. A Wake Up and Run/m (heavy caffinated and boozy rum drink)
"Meredith, i'm fall down drunk." "I know, but we have to get through this." Always the consummate professional!!
Couple of things: I had no idea Greg had been to basic training in one epoch of his life. I'd like to know more about that.
I'm sorry that I don't drink anymore because I can't try the ecstacy inducing Ango sorbet.
Lastly, I'm impressed eith how well Greg holds it together. If I were as drunk as he keeps claiming to be, my enunciation would be as messy as a dirt road after a rain storm, my thoughts wouldn't have any sort of linear connections, and I'd be impossible to keep on task. In short, the fact that he can get things done and we can understand him is awe inspiring.
man, after watching the behind the scenes editing of this, it makes me appreciate the work that goes into this kinda stuff. i didnt realize how many cuts and edits actually go into this show. cool stuff.
Completely agree! Watched the frozen marg episode and then as soon as it was done getting to watch hours of editing. Then this beaut come out. It’s a perfect HTD week.
Thank God you videotaped how you made your angostura ice cream.😂 Something tells me the recipe may be a little hazy in the morning.
The longer I watched the more the episode went off the rails this is absolutely hilarious 😂
The pure joy and excitement on Greg's face and how much he and Meredith both liked the "ango icecream" was so great lol best after party episode so far for sure
We really need a dedicated episode completely devoted to perfecting the Angostura ice cream
next episode has got to be dialing in this recipe!! I wanna make this!!
The energy drunk Greg brings to the program is always amazing lol
Obviously it would be irresponsible to imply that Greg should do all of his episodes this sauced, but fuck this was incredibly fun.
I'm an intermittent viewer who catches a few episodes a month, and I've never seen Meredith actually engaging on camera before. She's adorable, and I think Greg does great engaging with somebody on camera, with taste testing. More please.
I'm ordering an extra angostura bottle just to make this "angostura ice cream" drink. It sounds like exactly the kind of thing I want to try.
Meredith is such an excellent addition to this series.
Saw Greg's live editing stream for this and knew I had to see it as soon as it came out.
Beautiful energy in this one, y'all are not only loosened up, but you found somethin you genuinely loved and were surprised with. 10/10
Mad scientist Greg is so pleased with himself. I love it! And Meredith makes an excellent foil. I didn't realize that you were still bartending in the after party. I will go watch the back episodes now.
\ (•◡•) /
We are going to need a Ango Ice cream episode now
watching Greg go full mad scientist at the end 😂
I absolutely love these episodes. Pleaaaaase keep doing the Afterparties.
This should have a part two...
Also possibly a book
Greg, I beg, make a video going in depth on the Angostura Ice Cream. Recipe, measurements, all the different ways you can make it. A version to drink, a version to eat with a spoon, what to garnish/top it with, etc.
Anxiously waiting for the perfected recipe. O.O
Seconded!
I love these afterparties... this one was particularly fun!
I'm only upset that I have to wait until the end of the day to make this angostura frozen madness.
The angostura colada is my favorite drink by a mile and you're taking the Trinidad Sour far in that direction.
By gum you've done it!
I was going to post that an Angolada was also my favorite Tiki drink.
Not a fan of Rye, myself, so I immediately thought of going that direction.
I think the Ango episode following up on this needs to go with the Angolada option as well.
We were just talking about how Greg doesn't make enough frozen cocktails on the show! This was a blast.
I made frozen cosmopolitans years ago, and they were fantastic, but I didn't know this secret of the sugared spirits that would have taken them to a whole new level. You really should give that a try. I know that I'm going to!
the bar spoon bookmark is sending me, lol
22 mins and 32 seconds of Greg decaying into drunkenness. Glorious! We have reached the pinnacle. This ep was so much fun to watch.
If you want another one that’s incredible for Greg being absolutely sloshed…. Go watch the Manhattan Matrix.
Oh yeah, I’ve watched that one several time.
ango ice cream sounds good, I was once at a summer festival in my city and there was a Kraken rum truck giving out Kraken ice cream, it was surprisingly delicious, something about liquor, spices and ice cream goes very well together
You need to buy the Ninja ice cream/sorbet/gelato maker and make drinks in that!! That would be an AWESOME episode, and a great opportunity to perfect your Angostura gelato!
Now THAT is some entertainment! I was laughing way more than I'd like to admit. MORE OF THIS!!!
There's definitely some Ash-from-The-Evil-Dead energy going on near the end of the Trinidad Sour, Greg.
I can’t find the words to say how much I love this off the rails drunk mad science, it’s beautiful!
This was great, the banter, the cocktails, and the fact that you both are absolutely dying. Love it.
I have watched a lot of episodes of how to drink and this one was one of the funniests. Appreciate yall.
I love the joy in this video! You can feel the excitement and happiness.
So, I'm an old-school Metalhead, and also a Xennial. You'd not typically think of frozen margaritas as my "go-to" drink. However, on a blasted hot day in Minnesota, after cleaning out the car, and getting the lawn mowed, frozen margaritas are fucking HEAVEN.
Well now I need a steam of Greg in full mad scientist mode perfecting the ango sorbet recipe.
Thank you for being such a steadfast and reliable UA-cam man. We love to watch you get hammered on little treats :3
Best yet! Thanx guys! 💜👾💜
I wanna see y’all try these again when sober to see if you like it as much. It always sucks when you think you’ve found “your drink” only to go back later to find out that it’s just that you were drunk 😂
Def going to try all these drinks! Channel has expanded my drinking menu and pallet so much, still mix the eggnog every year!
Greg absolutely blasted yelling about angostura is the logical conclusion of any HtD episode
I ordered that book as soon as I watched the episode, so worth it.
I love the mad science that happens in these.
Wait. Greg served in the military?? How have I been watching this show for like 5 or 6 years, and that is probably the first mention of it that I've heard..
He’s mentioned it on his TikTok a few times
Definitely explains some of the mannerisms and general "live how you want, just leave me alone" energy
@@MrSplic3r *laughs in veteran* for real though
I'm helping host a bachelorette party in September and would love to make Ango-sorbet for it, PLEASE make a full episode on it!!
Must try, absolutely must try all of these!
the afterparty videos were such a great idea, i love these videos almost as much as the main episodes. I guess the quality of the idea depends on its success but just from my perspective
I love watching you guys. The show was awesome. Y’all are just fun to watch good people I’m not even an alcoholic or a bartender, any of it I just like it. Lol
those are honestly my fav episodes
Some truly enthusiastic alchemy nearing the end there!
Gotta love that Vitamix for being able to smoothie pretty much everything.
Major props to Greg for never forgetting to put the lid on the blender no matter how smashed he gets.
Ok, perfect it with some options and get it on my desk by next week. Thanks.
GO! THANKS!
Making me want to attempt that drink with how my passion you show towards enjoying it
Meredith, I get told "why you have to make it dark" a lot so I feel you with your death row list lol
Best episode in ages!!
Drunk Greg reveals his millitary service lol. And yes, pinsol and bleach. It’s a smell that sticks with you…. Haha. Love to hear what your mos was in an after party sometime. Or, come up with a cocktail inspired by each branch? Could be fun. Like a salt rim for the navy with some rum cocktail for instance!
Please do more frozen drinks, I found this pretty cool, and definitely fun to watch
This episode was fantastic, that Angostura sorbet sounds amazing!
The mad-sciencing of that ango ice-cream was glorious!
17:05 drunk Greg at his finest😂 love it!!
I just made the frozen Trinidad sour and this may be my new favorite drink! It tastes exactly like an orange dreamsicle but for grown ups. Absolutely delicious!
I'd love a more of this!
Either after party or "real" episode
At this point, I think I enjoy the afterparties more than the "normal" videos. Parasocial wierdness aside, you have a great dynamic that is balanced perfectly between energetic and relaxing to make tedious work on my computer a little less soul-crushing.
this is wonderful
I love these after parties. Just fun to see the chaos
With the heat of summer coming back quickly. I am on board for the journey of frozen drinks.
Okay, I have to try the trinidad sour one. I love them, and I’m convinced this is meant for me.
This was FUN! Perfect the angostura ice cream!!!
I love the Meredith cam SO much, Meredith is best producer confirmed
Ooohhhhhh you have my interest with the frozen cosmo. I'm absolutly making that now.
Love the energy today
Greg, if you haven't seen 'Dead Again' with Kenneth Branagh and Emma Thompson, check it out, that thriller has a scene which had the exact same effect on me, where the actors completely sold the moment.
I love how off the cuff After Hours is, this was super fun to watch. Keep it up Drunk Greg - but like, don't hurt yourself.
Best episode! 😂
+1 to all the other commenters suggesting a perfected ango ice cream episode. I also want an entire video dedicated to cocktail ice creams
Bring bk more frozen drinks pls it was a great episode, love from Scotland 🏴
I'm loving the Burt & Sally or Pam & Jim level of chemistry going on here.
AMAZING
Hell yeah! The Long Good Friday is one of my favorite movies! So gooood!
