@Coresonic23 Most of Western music, particularly in the mainstream or borderline is as stale as week old bread. Pop and Hip Hop in this area thrive primarily through insane marketing and appealing to the lowest common denominator. And Rock is pretty much dead as far as being a commercial powerhouse, as it was for decades on end since it's birth until the early-to-mid 2000s. Ah, I remember it's dying days in the West with the "indie band wave" which was really just a bunch of British and American garage bands paying half-assed tributes to old sounds while parading it as a new "movement" - what a way for an up to that point constantly innovative, barrier breaking genre to go out. Thankfully Japan is trying to revive that tradition along with the genre, but man do they need some serious support... and better management teams.

It's one thing to say you love Japanese music and that you aren't that fond of American music, but sheesh the way you put it, it sounds like you just aren't looking in the right places when it comes to finding good music in the US.

My daughter is over 30 and doesn't introduce me to new bands anymore. Radio in my area is dead so I go with UA-cam suggestions.

This song really grows on you. Great arrangement, interesting change-ups, and terrific performances. Natsumi in particular stands out for me: fantastic drumming...clean and precise, technical, and with great drum tone.

The bassist and the twin guitars are blending all kinds of sounds, even outside of the metal realm, and the melody is shifting accordingly to fit perfectly the narrative of the story in the song. Honestly, these ladies deserve much more recognition than they currently seem to get. In my opinion, the current number of thumbs-up for this video borders on shameful. Seems like the new members have done a spectacular job of developing chemistry while also writing stuff that's a bit different but still honoring this bands legacy with the older stuff. And that breakdown.... Wow!!!! I would like to see the guitarists break out a bit more though.
@@ian3373 it was. On their first two albums Overturn the Doom and Baryte they had a lot of english lyrics. It was a little hard to make out, because of Kimi's heavy accent, but all the early videos featured large english portions.
