@@jackwithahat8601 look up "wagakki band" if you want a folk metal band from Japan, as with any folk metal expect to see it clash with the traditional culture of where they are from so expect to see them dressed in kimonos for example, I recommend the songs "Senbonzakura", "Hoshizukiyo" "Ukio feavyLife" , "hagane" "tengaku" and "Ikusa".

This band just inspired me to get back into playing metal. I have played guitar for 20 years. Kind of fell out of metal for a bit and while I don't regret playing various styles...holy shit. The energy and emotions involved in this band and music grabs you. I'm glad to have found them through their singers collab with Syu. I had fallen down the Japanese music youtube rabbit hole and eventually here....fan for life!!!!!!

Fuki has got some lungs on her for sure. She expertly belts it out and it's amazing! I love the April fools version where everyone changes instruments and Fumiya plays the bass. It's hilarious lol

1年ちょっと前に、たまたまこの動画を見たら一瞬にしてあんきもの世界観の虜になり現在もず～っとあんきもを聴いています。
虜になってからいろんなあんきもの曲を聴いてますが、自分の中でBlack Pentagramが一番好きです。
This is just simply amazing. Such a great language for the genre too. Powerful but not harsh. Gonna be spending a lot of time digging through Japanese rock and metal acts now. This is fantastic.

her voice really pulls the track together, pretty cool stuff. musically and technically speaking the song itself is fantastic, but once her voice is thrown in the mix, the harmonious link between all entities really sums entirely together as one functioning meld.

I wounder if they have any plans to play shows, or even tour in the west now that they are getting attention in the western parts of the world, and Fuki having done a couple of interviewsin english because of it? I would so love to see them do a tour here in the US! Imagine if a big Lable like Road Runner, or Nuclear Blast picked these guys up!
Back a few years ago Fuki said she REALLY wanted to tour in the US, but didn't think her English was good enough to get by. So maybe soon? I hope, I'm such a huge fan!

It's official: Japan is saving rock and metal.

This is great music, and I support any Metal music that reaches the public sphere, but I'd argue that Japan is mostly 10 years behind in terms of innovation in Metal. Most of the innovation is still happening in Europe and America. The most innovation in Metal that has come from Japan at the moment is Ichika_Mo/Among the Sleep (which I recommend checking out because the guitarist is phenomenal and a breath of fresh air to the genre).
I do wish the vocal style of Unlucky Morpheus could come back to Metal though because she's fucking badass.
I think Sweden, Poland/Norway, UK, and a few Metal bands from USA are breathing the most life into Metal music as far as innovation goes.
Marcello Chua, now there's the question what Dave means by "saving". For some it's innovation, for others it's going back to old styles from "better" times and reviving them. And I think both are legitimate.
Not many bands give power to their playing. But this one is an exception.
Saving what? You fucking idiot, I have 2 TB of metal on my hard drive and Japan 99% of the time just bastardises the genre. They have great indie rock bands but I can count the good bands from Japan in metal on one hand. To put that into perspecitve I could name more than that from places like Montenegro, Azerbaijan, Iceland, Mongolia, etc. They really do have to make everything a fucking spectacle and turn into a visual band. It ruins the music.
