    I got way ahead of myself and started unlocked way too much of the map b4 even starting the main path, that I think i might have locked myself out of some sidequest by accident...oops.. so ima just follow the main path from here on out..(wow parrying is really good in this fight...too bad I'm terrible at it. Watching u parry this bitch is making me wanna actually spend a day learning how to parry consistently. Also i was only able to stagger her ONCE and idk how it happened, it was one of those runs where i aggressively beat the shit out of her and lucked out of her combos WHILST hitting her soo...i completely wasted it in a panic..the last quarter of her health always made me panic greed too..she baits that panic mash from me lol.

    So much fun watching you play these games, it's like a perfect amount of fun rage but with love and appreciation of the game haha. Loving the DLC so far, it's challenging but epic.

    I have to say Darkeater Midir from dark souls 3 is the hardest Dragon boss I ever fought in any souls game. Harder than the elden ring dragons, Lichdragon Fortissax, dragonlord placidusax, and any other dragon boss. I finally beat Midir after 100+ tries with the pesilent mist spell, no npc summons, it was so exhausting for me. Midir was just unfair/broken. That was in the ringed city DLC.

      Side in side in an objective comparison, Bayle is much more brutal. Throw this boss in DS3 and it would be apparent.
      Midir was hard because you could do less things in DS3. In Elden Ring i can buff my resistances a LOT and use various ashes of war to stagger any boss. In DS3 it was much more limited to run around and poke.

      Midir definitely isn't unfair or broken. I feel like the first time fighting him was pretty hard, but after you understand to stay infront of the head, and roll backwards instead of inwards (just like Bayle), the fight gets really easy.. The second time I played DS3 a few months later, on SL1 I beat him in 3 tries, with like 10 flasks left

    If you already figured this out sorry, but you can hold down the cast button to do a second dragon breath...they also nerfed Ekzyke's Decay. Pre-nerf, I killed Mohg in two fully charged hits D:

    i think it's unrealistic that torrent never farts. even when double-jumping. having said that, it's not a horse as we know it. it might have the burping ability of other ungulates, which true horses lack.

    I'm sorry, but I just don't get the logic of "I want to make the game more challenging" by not using summons for tough boss fights. The only way it would make sense is if you've played it through once WITH summons and found it to be too easy/unsatisfying, but a lot of people, like Julia, want to play this way from the outset, without knowing if the game is challenging enough. I know, I know, play how you want, and that's fine. It's the inconsistency from game to game that gets me. Why not play every game like that? For example, when playing Control, or any other character action game, why not play the game without unlocking any upgrades or skills to "make it more challenging"? No one ever does that. They just do it for these Soulsborne games for some reason, as if they have something to prove. It's strange. I really think there's nothing wrong with using the Spirit Ashes if you're struggling. That's what they're there for. It's a core game mechanic, the same as crafting items, or casting spells to aid you. There's no shame in it. You might as well avoid picking up the Scadutree fragments or leveling your character at all if you want the ULTIMATE challenge. Sorry, had to vent. Play how you want, it's just very very weird to me.

      @@savageplanet8299 it really is not that weird at all lol this comment is weird 😅 and I do play almost every game like that, I usually choose one of the hardest difficulties. Elden Ring and souls games don’t have difficulty levels, but the mechanics in the game make it so you can choose your own level of difficulty depending on your play style, which is great for many different types of gamers. By beating bosses without summons I feel more satisfaction knowing I “did it all myself,” but it can be satisfying still for other players using different builds! Souls games are literally created to be challenging and have a million different ways the player can overcome, not everyone has to play the same way. It really is not that hard to understand. Plenty of people do challenge runs on other games too.

      @@juliatvgames Look, I get trying to do it without summons too, for a little while. I do that. But after, say, the 100th attempt of beating your head against a wall, it's baffling to me that people will resort to literally anything to help them (changing their build, their weapons, leveling up more, using items, buffs, etc.) ANYTHING but summons. It makes no sense. You don't even have to use the Mimic, you could use one of the weaker summons to help just pull the aggro a bit. I really do think it's a weird pride or ego thing when it comes to these games. Think about it, you don't do the same thing in Final Fantasy 7. I've watched your playthroughs. Sometimes you will not summon to make it more challenging, but if something is tough, you don't hesitate to use summons in that game. There's literally no difference. As I said, of course I realize that people can play how they like and that's the beauty of Elden Ring in particular, but at the same time it seems a bit silly to me to make the first time you play into an ULTIMATE CHALLENGE run. Why not save that for second playthrough when you're more familiar with the game/bosses? I realize I'm yelling into a void here, I just needed to vent a bit. You do you, Julia. I still very much enjoy watching your streams and think you're very charming and entertaining. These things just grind my gears sometimes lol.

      Probably not a bad idea to take a hard look at why someone else's playstyle bothers you so much.

    • @savageplanet8299
      @savageplanet8299 Місяць тому

      @@DanKaschel Oh I know why: because it can be annoying to watch. I, as a viewer, have the right to criticize elements of the entertainment I'm viewing if there's something about it that don't particularly like. Then, you might say "well, you don't have to watch. Goodbye!" and see that's where the dilemma is. 99% of the time, I really like how Julia approaches games and I really like her charm/personality, so it pains me to encounter an element of how she plays to really kind of irritate me. Why does it irritate me? Well, I already outlined that above in my OP, but in a more generalized explanation, it annoys me when I fail to see any sort of logic or rationalization to an action. If that DOESN'T bother you when people act irrationally, then perhaps you should take a look at yourself, as you suggested. It is irrational, btw, because there were multiple instances in her ER playthrough (both base game and DLC) where she bemoaned the fact that she "couldn't" use summons, and that she "really wanted to". I was yelling at my monitor "then do it!". Who's stopping her? Anyway, I did eventually just stop watching the playthrough, so there's that. As I said, you can play the game how you want. Have a ball. Doesn't mean I have to watch it (and I know she doesn't care if I watch or not). I just think it's always a good idea to get product feedback from your customers. So there's mine.
