On work trucks the 1986 fascia was used until 1997 and intermediate head lights were introduced at 1992 which this truck has.

The reason for this is because the single sealed beam head lights are cheaper than the stacked headlights

And sport models can have both stacked and single headlights

Also the 2wd 1992 D-series trucks also have the intermediate headlights.
