Babe, wake up. New Beam update dropped. also lol accidently called it a Gavril for most of the video. Its a Bruckell. My bad devs i get them mixed up all the time.
And yes Police sirens can sound louder than ambulances or fire trucks because cop cars usually have their siren mounted low on the front bumper. Fire trucks also mount their sirens on the bumper, but the large size of the vehicle absorbs some of the sounds
Just like the last update for BeamNGdrive, I did not expect to see this one this early! The Bruckell Nine looks wonderful and I love that there are drift zones in the game 😲 Also I'm a bit sad you didn't bring out the "Sharp Dressed Speedster" in this video. I'm sure it will appear later though 😯
We need some proper 1920s cops and robbers and some moonshiner racing. Maybe use the machine gun mod to allow some passengers to exchange fire on the road too.
Neil, you were drifting with BeamNG's drift assists. With them turned on it's way easier to send a car sideways. You may turn it off in settings and try drifting without them, you'll feel the difference for sure
Thanks, Neil! I have played BeamNG and followed your channel for _years_ --and you still refuse to click the "Performance" tab in upper right corner when viewing the car models. Why is that? ☺
Sundown Coup -King Of The valley- That car and the description is a nod to the John Milner character in George Lucas' movie "American Graffitti". He drove a yellow hot rod and was always looking for other drivers to race. He was regarded as the street race king of the valley, as in the Modesto area of California. Cool little easter egg from the Devs there... Noice!!
I'm old enough to remember when all cars dimmer switch was in the floor, and I still have one. To my recollection, the dimmer being on the signal light stalk didn't start in the United States until 1977, and that was only on certain models, such as the '77 Pontiac Grand Prix SJ I used to have.
@@mikeadams2677 The 1982 CJ-5 I had had the switch on the floor. Oddly, my first car, a 1969 Fiat 850 Spider had it on the stalk. Guess foreign cars swapped over first.
The button on the floor is probably for the brights. It was very common up until the 80's. My 1984 F-250 has a floor button, but on my 1986 Jeep XJ it's on the blinker wand like most vehicles are now.
Neil, you have never made me feel older than today. A "car guy" literally having no idea what the bright switch on the floor was.... oof. I'mma go check myself into the nursing home now..... :D
Yes. They did have actual electromechanical sirens on their cars because they didn't have speakers. Even in the olden days when they didn't have motors, they would use hand crank ones on firetruck. And before the siren, they used the bell.
As an old car owner and enthusiast IRL, I wanted a prewar car in this game for a long time. This is obviously based on a 32 Ford. Even the flathead V8 is rather authentic to the Ford engine. I'm impressed with this addition to the game.
The button on the ground for the lights is for your high beams irl, yes they mounted sirens on the front bumper, some of the older sirens they had to whined them up before they got in the vehicle. I'm only 30 but absolutely love older vehicles
My great uncle had a good number of Model As, most needing a good amount of work. Sadly, after his passing his property was sold as is (Model As included) because no relatives lived in the same state. I was really hoping to be able to get one.
"this is an awesome mod" lol. fun fact, the suspension on this used to be very bouncy and looked funny on the people who drove them on rough terrain at high speeds. its called a leaf suspension due to how it is
fun fact: the pedal for the lights is actually to turn the high beams on! You use the dash switch for the low beams, and the floor switch for high beams!
As someone who owns an older car, I can tell you that the button at the bottom of the floor was a Dimmer switch. They turn the headlights on and off, or they can also turn the high beams on, like my Diplomat.
Neil I want to thank you for continuing to cover and play BeamNG after all of those years, It’s like the devs dedication to the game tbh and we really appreciate it !
"in a Modern Car all you get is a cut finger, but they have to sweep the pile of dust that was once a car off the road with a broom, but in an Old Car, they just hosed what was left of you off the Dash and then sold it on to the next Guy" -Jay Leno.
I am so glad that they made the car have a manual choke and having the dimmer switch on the floor. Why did manufacturers put the dimmer on the steering column when on the floor was just fine. your left foot isn't doing anything and flipping the dimmer while in mid turn is such a hassle. I wonder if the lights dim and brighten as the rpms fluctuate. That would be cool the old car having a poor quality voltage regulator.
The pedal is for high beams youngster 😅 Most American cars had high beams activated by pedal until the 70s, and I'd imagine some still had them in the 80s, even though none that I've ever driven
the backwards rear door were called "suicide doors", because they were not very friendly if bypassing traffic doored you as you were getting out of the car
Before my grandpa was diagnosed with dementia and we had to sell it for bills I had a 1937 Chevy master deluxe that had the suicide doors and trunk seat that looked similar to this
Would be so cool with taxi 🚕 routes, or possibly to pick snowmen or packages on the go in freeroom. Like get a (Job) SMS/message UI to pick out route to pick up. Would also be possible to use, for the police, like select a job, police, taxi, ems. And somewhere on the map, a crashsite(police ems) (Taxi snowman) FedEx-van driver package will spawn in😮🤩 But it will probably never happen, with the LOW interest devs already giving to the bus routes with all the bugs, and NO customizing to make routes, or play a bus driver on the go in freeroom 😢
That's what I like about old cars there were made from steel and not aluminum and plastic so you could crash and wasn't too much to fix and you didn't need to buy a new car after rear ending some at 15 mph
You've just displayed exactly why I don't turn traffic on in free roam. It's a little too realistic how stupid they are, if you ask me, and I get enough of that frustration on IRL roads.
I really want an old worn-out rust bucket version of every model including with a worn-out engine even if it said engine worn out I think that would work great in the career mode as well cuz then you can rebuild the engine
That yellow “sundown dragster” is out of a movie called “American graffiti” it is my favorite movie of all time and I highly recommend y’all check it out.

Need to drop some green onions while driving that yellow beauty
Get the moonshine boys, we're driving at night with this beauty of a truck. Also we definitely need maps of the early 1900s in BeamNG.
Hoping somebody on the forums gets inspired enough to port the maps from Mafia games.
And yes Police sirens can sound louder than ambulances or fire trucks because cop cars usually have their siren mounted low on the front bumper. Fire trucks also mount their sirens on the bumper, but the large size of the vehicle absorbs some of the sounds
HUH?! I was not expecting this anytime soon. 😮

Imo having the oversteer assist on is the most realistic way to drift with controller, allows the car to properly counter steer.
