    VINDICATION! Thank you so much, I thought I was going crazy for not finding this aspect of the editor intuitive.

    Thank you, I watched 12 different videos just for it to be this simple.

    I went with Squarespace because it was supposed to be user friendly, and does not require learning code to design your website. While I'm still trying to get my site up and running, this video proves there are areas which need to be improved on the back end to remove the confusion and make the process of setting up your site more simplified. At this point I'm not sure I made the best decision going with Squarespace.

      Please don't feel bad about your decision, overall Squarespace is still is one of the most user-friendly and intuitive website builders out there! Like every system there is a learning curve and that's why I publish these videos so that users can learn those things that are not immediately obvious. This particularly issue has not been implemented in the best way and I think Squarespace will still address and improve this 😊

    The menu overlay color options are for the menu on mobile. Edit Site Header > Mobile Preview > Overlay Menu > Colors (talk about buried settings!). click click click found it.

      OMG! I kept scratching my head because I couldn't figure out what it was for! Sounds like a simple rename is in order: "Mobile Menu Overlay" 🙄 Thank you for clarifying this! 😍

      @@KerstinMartin What's crazy is, the menu overlay has stopped working for me in dynamic syle. Is it still working for you?

      @@LA-Creative Still working on my demo site. But Squarespace ARE working on making improvements to the header, I think we'll soon be able to beta test it in the Circle and I think it will be a lot better!

    It's so wild that this problem still persists! Why haven't they fixed it? I'm hoping Squarespace fixes the header Dynamic option to work with the Colors / Color Themes (to fix what you demontrated is clearly broken). There are tricky/frustrating workarounds in the GUI (kind of hard to explain without a video ) but, in the end, I found it much easier to select the Dynamic style and then add custom CSS code to the Advanced (code) section for the pages that I want a solid header.

      @KerstinMartin  Рік тому

      Yes, if you want different header styles on different pages, that can get tricky. But they are working on improving how the header works, so I am hopeful that this will get better!

    when i click dynamic nothing changes. the header remains the same. is mine broken? i can't seem to change the colours either. is anyone else having this issue?

    • @KerstinMartin
      @KerstinMartin  Рік тому

      With dynamic the header should become transparent and if you have it set to scroll back the background color is determined by the color theme of the first section. If yours does not work this way I would reach out to Squarespace support.

    So convoluted eh? I look forward to another video from you soon celebrating and explaining sqsp’s fix on this UI issue.
