- EDIT: I am going to be doing an updated version of this video to feature all of the new additions to Disneyland's Fantasmic.
For my first compairison between the two resorts, I will do the hit show that plays at both destinations in Disneyland Park in Anaheim, California and Disney MGM Studios in Lake Buena Vista, FL.

I hope you enjoy this video and make your own judgement on which show you enjoy more, for this video is not posted because of what show I think is better. They both are amazing shows and both need to be seen in person.

I got to say, Disneyland is a lot better. Wdw may have better seating and longer show, but its pretty impressive that Disneyland can transform the Columbia to a pirate ship and the mark twain into steam boat Willie and tom soyer s island into a giant stage wit a 40ft dragon below it. And allow guest to walk all over the stage during the day and have it transform into something amazing. And its the original disneyland . Walt s original park. So i think Disneyland is pretty amazing. But WDW is pretty cool too.
If you are a true die hard fan of Fantasmic, you wouldn't choose which show is the best. You would enjoy all of them!
I have grown up watching Fantasmic at Disneyland pretty much my whole life. I just saw the one at Hollywood Studios for the first time back in April. I gotta say, Disneyland is still my favorite. Maybe it's the fact that Peter Pan is in it, and I love anything to do with Peter Pan lol. But maybe also because I have grown up with the Disneyland one. I don't think they are too different from each other, the obvious parts are there. I still enjoyed the one at Hollywood Studios though!
You are so right! Finally someone who appreciates the oringinal Fantasmic.Although it's true people can't get seats at DL it is worth the sacrifice.
Just back from Florida a few days ago after 14 days living he magic. Fantasmic was amazing and I can't stop crying about it.
Even with Disneyland's new version, Disneyland still has the superior Fantasmic!
this one brings back the memories, I hope my class remembers that day and that we can look back on it in the future

I've only seen the DisneyWorld version in person but I really liked the Pink Elephants rock remix in the DisneyLand version at 7:59 . Both are great shows.
Thought both are amazing, I must say Disneyland's is better. At Disneyland, part of what adds to the magic of the show is that fact that you are not in a theater. You are sitting on the bank of a river looking at an island that you can actually go on during the day. Then, out of nowhere, this seemingly peaceful place turns into a fantastic multimedia show. It actually makes you feel like this is happening instead of feeling like you're watching a show.
I should obviously see this show, I've never gone and seen it yet! Looks amazing in BOTH fantastic Disney parks. :0)
Meanwhile, off the topic of which park is better, I just have to say bravo to the video. Putting both of them side-by-side was genius and awesome.
And of course let's not forget the Mickeys; there's gotta be a handbook for how to do their blocking, cause they've almost got synchronization down to a T in regards to the music (although this could just be video editing, so my bad if I'm mistaken).
Disneyland version all the way. It's more of a spectacle than just an ordinary "show".
No matter what people saw about the show (which I love) the editing in this video was awesome
now if only they could combine the best of both locations for this show, it would be one amazing thing
Very neat idea to compare the two! That's great! And lucky you it means that you went twice... We were there last April (Disneyland), it's just magic.
Thanks so much for posting them both this way! It was great seeing them side by side to make the comparison. I have seen both in person and I have to say I like Disneyland's better, but I like the seating arrangement and the way it has it's own amphitheatre at WDW. I wish DL could move F! to the backside to Tom Sawyer's Island and build seating back there which could be camoflaged during the day and then they would have a great venue to show F! as well.

I've only seen the Disney World and the three things I like better about the Disneyland one are: more laser lights, better dragon, and I liked the rock version of the pink elephant dance. This show always brings tears to my eyes.
Can't compare, DISNEYLAND 100 times! Disney World's version is good, but when it comes to comparing, DISNEYLAND beats it by a lot!!!
ive been wanting one of these kind of videos. my vote is on disneyland. not just because i live near it, but my mom's a technician there and works on many of the effects in fantasmic. the jungle scene is cool at disneyland! i like the beat better. :) great vid!
OH MY GOD THAT WAS AMAZING....although the WDW is quite longer, Disneyland's version is awesome coz its on a grander scale. ive never seen the one at WDW but it looks like its in a small theater where at DL its in front of the rivers of america!! so one more vote for Disneyland!!! =)

I love the transformation at Disneyland. It's just so cool how everything is part of the park and then at night it transforms into this awesome show!

I think both are great but I'm gonna have to go with WDW with this one. For one, the ampitheater was built for the show and thus made the setting of the show alot better and it can fit alot more people than its California counterpart a. Another thing is the Jafar Snake lol I love that part. And Lastly the finaly, I love how the use the Steamboat WIllie boat and have all the characters through out the years on it, it really shows Disney's history and how far they have come.
Definitely go out to see the Disneyland version when you have a chance. It's very hard to tell from a 240p video where the angles and zoom are different. Disneyland's is set on Tom Sawyer's Island, surrounded by New Orleans Square and Frontierland. It's amazing to see the river ablaze when hours earlier it was bustling with canoes and ships. While WDW's version is more intimate with seating, the integration of the Columbia and Mark Twain, along with the setting, makes DL's so big in scope.

I totally agree with you, FallonRowan! Disneyland came first and becuz of that, everything is already better because you have a more "original" feeling. WDW is just a more updated version of everything. Walt Disney himself was actually at the opening of Disneyland, and to me that's an honor! I'm not saying WDW copis everything Disneyland does, but Disneyland is the "mother" of all the other ones! I wiil give props to WDW for their villain section though! That was the only part that was better!
For the longest time I always thought the Disneyland version was better because that's what everyone kept saying. But after watching this I definitely think the Disney World version is better. The Disney World version seems so much more magical and the set is amazing. I mean, it's a mountain, and the Disneyland set is like shack... However I might just be saying this because I grew up with the Disney World version and have never been to Disneyland.
I saw them both and I'd have to say Disneyland, the WDW version seems to get lost...and I don't get the part where Mickey kills the dragon by shooting at the raising fountains. The only thing great about the WDW version is the seating..however at Disneyland you can't tell your watching the show through a stadium so it feels more natural. magical. and awesome .

Both versions are very good. I have to give Disneyland the edge because visually it was much more impressive. The finale in Disneyland with the Mark Twain was so much grander than the boat in Disney World. The Peter Pan scene with the Columbia beat out Pocahontas visually as well. And I like that Disneyland uses more classic movies that were made a long time ago rather than more current and less classy ones in the World. Both great shows.
Loved it! Both are excellent... Disney's Creation will live on for a very long long time!!! But just one question... How did you get 32 minutes of Video in? I thought the max was only 10... but doesn't matter disney rules!
The DL version is a far grander spectacle overall, as it was designed to incorporate major elements of the park itself. It's hard to compete with its staging on the Rivers of America and the sense of spontaneity this brings (feels as though it were really happening--that Mickey's imagination has taken control of the park!), in addition to the majesty of the segments staged on the Columbia and Mark Twain. To paraphrase a certain Disney character, DL's Fantasmic! was imitated but never duplicated.

Fantasmic at disneyland its like a ton better, the scenes, the ending WAY better, the dragon, the peter pan scene over pocahontas scene etc. If you say disney world better you never been yo disneyland
i agree, i felt that at WDW we were running all over the place.. in the end though, the only thing i really cared about was the magic kingdom, which is essentially what DL is. the other three parks at WDW were nice, but for me, at least, magic kingdom was the best part.
wow, what an amazing piece of video editing. this video must have taken a lot of time to create. great job! i thoroughly enjoyed both, although i still like the wdw one better.

Disney wins from its effort to give Fantasmic in the east and on the west coasts of the US.
plus to be honest...the characters seem more enthusiastic on the Mark Twain than on Steamboat Willie...but both are good
i went to florida to see the WDW version but it started rain and pouring at the pocaontas secen but the finale when micky does the fireworks is amazing thanks for posting this

Personally, I like DL's better. They use more live action, and the effects are way cool. But both are still good! :)

The Original will always be superior, and last I checked, Disneyland is the original.
I've seen both DL and WDW versions and I like the WDW version better. We saw the WDW version in September and the DL version in December. To me sitting in a amphitheatre was better as you didn't get tired from standing so long.
Walt Disney World defiantly did better than Disneyland, there were villains and that awesome sequence of the bubbles helping various classic disney films.

Disneyland has more fireworks, 10000 times better end, WAY better dragon, the peter pan's scene over pocahontas scene, and some better scenes, but disneyworld only has better seating and its 4 minutes longer
The bubble segment is just filler. Compared to Disneyland pink elephant and pinocchio scene and DL only has fewer villains cuz it was opened before Aladdin, lion king, hunchback, Hercules were a thing
disney world of course is the better in parts like Princess part,but Disneyland is the better in other things like the final part...I love all Fantasmic shows: in Disney World,Disneyland and Tokyo Disneyland :)
omg! so freaking awesome! the music is really good and keeps me awake! i don't know why but i always tear up when i watch fantasmic :] it's so fun! going to disneyland tomorrow :] ftw!
While I appreciate this video, it has to be said that it has been obsolete for a few years now. DL has gotten significant upgrades, and will be receiving additional ones this coming summer.
I hope you'll be able to get a new comparison video after the updated 09 Fantasmic premieres at DL :)
This video isn't even really up to date, so you really can't truly compare both productions. Disneyland's version of Fantasmic! has just gotten a brand new dragon, crocodile, HD mist screen projections, HD sound system, more pyrotechnic effects, more laser effects, and a new Ursula sequence with Flotsam and Jetsam set pieces, so you truly can't compare the two shows. If you asked me which production I'd prefer, hands down it would be Disneyland's, because of the quality of the show. Just sayin
Disney World's version is really cool, but Disneyland's version is better in my opinion because like its smaller, people not just get a better and closer vew, but you also get to enjoy it alot more! And I could say that because I've been to both! ;)

I like the Villains-part more in WDW, but the Mark Twain is more impressive in Disneyland´s finale.

Always gonna choose WDW, maybe that's because I live here though... Both performances are great, having seen both in person, but I prefer world over land.
Disney world is better for me I just like the stage setting better cause it actually has a better stage than disneyland but I like Disney lands new dragon and the dance that Mickey does in the end

Agreed! When I went back to Disneyland after visiting Disney World, I found out that Disneyland is losing its touch big time.

I have to say I like Walt Disney World much better, only because I grew up with it. Even if I didn't though, I'd probably pick Disney World. That's just my opinion.

@Branyon Heffley Disneyland basically got updated in 2017 and is obviously better. The transitions are better, mickey appears in more scenes, the villains all get screen time, only takes mickey 10 secs to kill a dragon, better finale. Wdw is only good for villians and pocahontas. But it's bubble segment is filler

Disneyland's version is the best IMO. ^^ I'm not saying that WDW's version is bad or anything, I like their's too. =)

I believe the reason that John Smith has a part in the WDW production is that the Pocahontas animated film was created at Disney's Hollywood Studios at WDW (till recently it was known as Disney's MGM Studios).

@blocklandman0815 Not because of entertainment, but it is the original and it makes me cry all the time. Walt Disney World still means alot. Whenever it came to entertainment or movies: Walt Disney Pictures, Disneyland and Walt Disney World was the best thing that ever happened to the world. Screw the people who think Universal Orlando and Universal Studios Hollywood rule.
i prefer disneylands because the stage is very naturall i mean you can sail over the lake during the day but in the night theres magic on tom sawyers island people ,. and in wdw theres a theater made for the show while in disneyland its part of an atracttion i already saw both but i still prefer disneylands i mean peter pan flying over the ship its incredible!!!anyway both shows are mostly the same but nothing like the originall

You need to go to the original, where it all started, you can't just go to Disney World. Disney World is just extra space that can't fit in Disneyland. But Disneyland is where Walt actually visited and walked through. Walt never had the chance to walk through Disney World. Trust me, if you ever visit Disney you'll receive second thought's it's so much more magical. (Disneyland as in, staying at one of the hotels and going to both parks and down town disney. :) It's amazing. Small but still good.

For me. Both are great but i will always choose Disneyland for the newer bigger Dragon and new Ending and Disneyland version has more fireworks. Plus Disneyland have classics Dumbo, Peter Pan and Pinocchio also Disneyland got a better Mark Twain Riverboat. But Disney World version is cool too.

Disney-MGM Studios' version is in an ampitheater (with seats) and is 27 minutes long, plus newer Disney animated films (Mulan being their latest).

@haypoopnugget Being the original is a HUGE advantage for Disneyland. I wouldn't say it's better because it's the original but it's the most unique in my opinion and it's one of a kind. Disneyland is the only Disney park Mr. Walt Disney himself designed, built, visited, and even lived there. NO FAN OF THE OTHER PARKS CAN SAY THAT. Sorry but it's the truth and you're never going to stop hearing it.
Disney World show is better but the DIsneyland dragon is way better, bigger and it looks more real.

I agree. I think Mickey was feeling the spirit a little more at DL. He may have just had a spat with Minnie or something before the WDW show.
While I can't say which one of these is better as I've never been to Disneyland. I can say that Fantasmic at Disney's Hollywood Studios at WDW doesn't even hold a candle to Iluminations at Epcot Center at WDW. Nice editing job though.
