Thank you so much for the holster and book of the old West!!! This is amazing! My wife and I watch your videos every Saturday like clock work. This really made our holiday!😊
My early Saturday morning routine. Coffee, enjoy the quiet before my dog wakes up, and see what Santee has for us. Never a disappointment. Rose of Cimmaron. I knew of the lady but never really got the skinny on her. Thanks to the Arizona Ghostriders, I now have more incentive. Happy New Year to you Santee and all the Riders.
I've lived in Oklahoma for a long time, so I've heard of the "Rose of the Cimarron," in passing -- but never anything difinitive. Thanks for filling in some of the blanks, Santee
So I grew up in Southwest kansas. My mother was from a town called Ingalls kansas. 6 mi east of ingalls Kansas is cimarron kansas. There is also an Ingalls Oklahoma and both towns were named after the same Kansas senator. I never heard of Ingalls Oklahoma until about a week ago and now this video mysteriously pops up! What a coincidence! Anyway ingalls Kansas and ingalls Oklahoma are about 3 hours apart from each other. I know there is a great deal of Western history around Ingalls and cimarron kansas. There are still tracks from the Santa Fe trail going right through there and there is a historical marker. And it is protected by the state. You can still go out and see the ruts in the prairie left by the wagons.
Always informative and entertaining at the same time. Well done!👍 When I was a young boy I'd wait all week to watch cartoons Saturday morning on the brand new TV we had. Today, I wait all week to watch Arizona Ghostriders. The difference is that here I learn more history. Then it was Beanie and Cecil or Popeye.😅
I’ll have to go check out the movie, sounds interesting. I had never heard of her til now. THANKS SANTEE WISHING ALL A HAPPY,HEALTHY and PROSPEROUS 2025
Now that would have been a great line in ‘Tombstone’ when Kurt Russel told Ike that he’d turn his head into a canoe, he could have said “I’ll turn you into a pasta strainer!” LOL!
You brought up some interesting points, both directly and indirectly. First, one has to remember a woman's place in society back then. That's most likely why she didn't get any press. And those that know are obviously no longer with us. I like that you are reaching as far east as Kansas and Indian Territory for your wild west takes. Keep up the great work. I noticed you used an old clip of Dirty Dan. How is he doing as of late?
Thank you. I aim to do a whole video on that fascinating "Battle of Ingalls" Dan has some health issues. If you see the last video, "The Miner's Christmas" you will see a current video of him.
Two elderly men are talking while their wives prepare supper. The first man says, "we went to this really amazing restaurant the other day, you have to try it." The second replies, "we would love to, what is it called? " After a long pause, the first man, clearly confused, asks, "What is the name of the flower. . .The one with the thorns on it? " The second replies, " A rose? " "Yes, thank you," says the first man as he turns to the kitchen and yells, "ROSE ! WHAT'S THE NAME OF THAT RESTAURANT WE WENT TO THE OTHER DAY ? "
Santee, Absolutely the Best Old West content out there. Thank you very much. You and Mrs Pew Pew have a beautiful and blessed weekend and a very blessed and prosperous Happy New Year. Hug the kitty cat for me. LORD GOD Bless and stay vigilant.
I've heard of her only because of the Poco song, and while watching this wondered if it was really about the same woman. Come to find out it was! From Wikipedia: "Rose of Cimarron is the sobriquet given in American frontier lore to Rose Dunn, who at age 15 was romantically involved and an accomplice with the outlaw George Newcomb. Rusty Young learned of Dunn through a brochure he chanced upon while in Oklahoma during Poco's 1973 tour. "It told a story of a woman who took in outlaws in the 1800s. She fed them, mended their wounds and sent them on their way. Or so they say"."
Very awsomely awsome and intetestingly informative video, I really liked and enjoyed it, I learned a lot about the old west frontier and the real historical story behind the rose of cimarron. I got a lot of inspiration for my old west frontier inspired, retro eras of the 1920s to early/mid 2000s inspired, super mario and legend of zelda inspired new interconnected stories writing projects. Great job, well done and keep up the great work. Happy upcoming new year🎉. The story ive been working on writing today is set inside a building called the Snodin Mountain Checkpoint Reststop Cabin atop a mountain peak called Snowy Cool Summit on SnowFall Isle in the northern Arctic Sea on the EarthStone PlanetPlane. The story follows a explorer named Lynkth, his sister Aryl and two other individuals named Ta'Hul and Maevely. In the story Lynkth and the other discover a entrance to a cave tunnel called the Snoform Mountain CaveTunnel in the wall at the back of the kitchen pantry room of the Snodin Mountain Checkpoint Reststop Cabin, that leads to a cavetn lnoen as the Snoform MountainCave.
