Just picked this up today, and man did you hit the nail on the head with this one!!! I really appreciate you solidifying my decision on this helmet. Solid, lightweight, versatile, and high quality 👌
I think this is the first Icon Carbon Gold video I find. It's nice to see the helmet in real, not in pictures or in Icon post-produced video. The only problem I see in this video is the camera focus. The helmet is blurred and can't be seen in detail. Anyway, thanks for the video!
Good review I would recommend getting some sound panels in the room so you don’t have so much echo in your videos. Also, maybe a big desk matte so it absorbs the thump of the helmet on the wooden desk 👍🏾
looks drastically different than what they are showing on their website. website shows a much blacker helmet with matte finish and in actuality it looks like it's smothered in glossy clear coat. why do that? they must think the helmet looks better without the shiny clear coat in how they present it on their website. then why put it on and give customers a different looking product? what a shame
Late reply but there's a ghost carbon one, thats the one you're probly seeing it has a bit of "rubatone" coating over the carbon so it's not as exposed as this one I have this one, the matte one didn't look as nice in person This pro carbon shiny version is much nicer in person than pics or videos, I never would have bought it based on pics or videos I just happened to see one on display at my local shop.
Noise helmet, poor ventilation. Pretty heavy considering it "carbon fiber". Its ok if you just want it for looks. Aside from that huge PASS. Over Priced.
I agree about the helmet weight. There are other carbon fiber helmets way lighter than this. Maybe it is cos it meets 4 world safety standards and it has to be so... Who knows. However, I disagree about noise or ventilation. I own an Airframe Pro (not carbon), and it depends on your riding position: if you ride upright on the bike, probably you get more noise (this happens when I ride a naked bike, relaxed riding), while if you ride crouched on the bike, meeting the "angle of attack" of the helmet, you won't hear any excesive noise. About over price... I can say that an AGV Pista RR, 1,600$ is overpriced.
Ventilation is not poor at all the only problem i have with the helmet is after 30min to an hour the sides of the head there is a big squeeze of pain but no problem with the ears or the whole face,i aways need to put 1 finger under the left strap when im pulling out the helmet since it will leave my left ear in an immense pain

True. In general, Icon pictures in the catalogue or website are way different from real look. They should do something about that.
