The drop volley Djoko pulls at 2:40 is one of the finest net play i've ever seen !!, the inclinaison of the racket is geometric, he did fantastic at the net on this GS, especially vs Meddy.

He's the GOAT. But every month Alcaraz is noticeably faster and stronger. I think the tipping point occurred this month. If they face each other in the Final, unless Alcaraz is having a weirdly bad day, I expect Carlos' outrageous speed and energy to give him the first set.
And I think he learned last month in the Finals of the Cincinnati Open that the all-time greats never relax their focus, which is what Carlos did and that allowed Novak back into the match.

The fact that he was going for huge winners--and making a huge number of errors doing it--shows the difference in level between him and a fairly-below-average Djokovic performance. If you're only winning 28% of your second service points, you're far the second best player on that court. He hasn't got the elite movement to win enough rallies, so he has to go for low-percentage winners. 51 unforced errors is a number for the overmatched.

While Sascha, Danil and even Novak get more free points on their first serve, when it comes to second serves Carlos has the highest percentage of points won. Strangely, despite getting more break points than anyone else, his conversion rate has been the worst.

The higher first serve efficiency of other favorites compared to Carlos can be explained by their faster 1st serve speed (especially Sascha and Meddie), and much higher number of aces.

Overall Carlos has had to apply the least effort in his matches largely due to his agressive game style and easier R16 against Arnaldi. Zverev comes into his QF against Calos with the most amount of distance covered and longest time on court due to his disputed match against Sinner.
