MTB Derbyshire: Ladybower Mixed Sesh

- Thought I'd grab the opportunity to ride some of the steep tech before the rains came as it's been mega dry.....typical there was a massive storm overnight before I got there. It didn't have a massive impact on the trails but I still made a mess on some of the tight and twisty steep sections.
Still trying to improve on this stuff and at least this time on the gift I didn't break any ribs, always a bonus.
I also tried flats on potato alley for the first time in about 28 years. I wasn't impressed. It highlighted the need to maintain speed which is easier when you're not getting bounced about. This also shows how clipless can lead to lazy ways too. Hmmm
Finally, took in Lockerbrook as it's been dramatically altered due to tree felling since the last time I'd ridden it. Quite a bit different.
There's so many great descents at Ladybower, The gift can be tricky for sure especially after overnight rain. Nicely done mate, keep at it!
Keep on moving on is the mantra. 😜👍 Cheers Phil
Very bold wipe of the lense down spud alley that! 😂 lockerbrook is one of my all time favs! Great riding mate! 👍
Lens wipes are a priority....over staying alive sometimes 😜 Lockerbrook is always fast n funbutvthis time I slowed down to take in the view 😎
Potato alley looks good and the descent after 👍
Potato alley is a divisive trail. Some love it some hate it. It's a point and blast rockfest. I really couldn't let it run as much without my SPDs. The second run is lockerbrook and that's a long fast one...really good fun 👍
Gores/Lockerbrook so different after it’s ‘haircut’. Still my all time fave though.
Yep it's a good 'un. Found myself slowing right down to look at the view 😜👍
A great vid again sir
Many thanks! A little premature with the knighthood😜🤣🤣 but fully appreciate the support 👍
I need to get back here for a session, only been the once back on the group ride, where a rider got friendly with a fence 🤣🙈 I feel you're riding loads more confidently recently on these off piste trails, keep at them mate 👍🏻
Thanks Christian. It's got loads that I've not done up there. Certainly be good to get back up there 👍
A proper mixed bag of a ride there, taking in some classics from from opposite ends of the spectrum for ride style, well ridden too, you might not have found your comfort zone on the flats down the likes of potato yet (it will come) but i can definitely see an improvement on the off piste, probably because you've rode more off piste than natural cross country? no pedal strikes either 🤣 ace video Jonathan 👍
Cheers Marc. SPD are definitely a winner on the XC but I knew that. Some gains in the off piste but I'm still rubbish on still rubbish on some of the bends on the gift 🤣
Haha, you see all sorts when you’re out on your hike in the wild 😂😂
The woman changing her trousers was a new one 😂😂😂
@@MTB_Derbyshire 😂😂

Cheers mate....classic Ladybower combined with off piste 👍
