- In this video, Dr Irfan Ahmed PT will highlight on diagnosis, medical treatment and exercises for Osteoporosis. Diagnosis of Osteoporosis can be done by DEXA Scan. Medical Treatment options are:
1) Bisphosphonates
2) Vitamin D and Calcium Supplements
3) Hormone Replacement Therapy for females
4) Testosterone Treatment for males
5) Parathyroid Hormone
Exercises for Osteoporosis patients is based on the principle of B.A.S.E:
B = Balance
A = Aerobic
S = Strength
E = Endurance
Main focus of these exercises are weight bearing exercises. Weight bearing puts stress on bones, to maintain the density of bones.

Yes, you can do but in gaps to avoid pain and fatigue and gradually increase the time.

Yes you can do walk. Start it from 5-10 mins a day and than increase time limit after every two days until it reaches 30 mins a day. You can also do it in intervals/bouts.
