This really makes me want to get back to flying. In the mid to late 1970s as a young man I worked in PNG as a builder. I traveled all over the country in light aircraft and was too young and stupid to realise the danger I was often in. No GPS in those days. One memorable flight was from Mt Hagen to the Bensbach which should have been a couple of hours but ended up over 4 because the pilot got lost stuck between cloud layers and the manager of the Bensbach lodge forgot to turn the NDB navigation beacon on. Not much left in the tanks when we arrived I don’t think.

Great flying your an awesome Captain and pilot! I have flown with Vietnam vets and my time 1987 era vets in planes and choppers! Your a good teacher hoorah SEMPER FI!
Solid flight dude! Greased that landing. Always good to come in with a stabilized speed and attitude then use ground effect to its advantage. As long as not much crosswind like you had it’s good to float it a bit with the extra lift the aircraft gets from the ground effect. You did a real nice job there. 👌👊
Just spectacular. What a treat this is. Frankly, bush flying in the SW desert does not compare though, to be fair, that is a good balance for the humid tropics. Many thanks.
Terrific to watch a master pilot at work. I have never seen this sort of film before. The explanations as we travelled along were fascinating. Thank you sir.
this was amazing! Makes me want to come down and fly with you once i get all my certs etc! so glad i found your channel. Im 48 and finally getting to learn to fly! almost to my checkride now for my PPL lol still a ways to go but ill get it!

What a change from the deserts of Nevada. And you sure aren’t flying any Kit Fox here. Interesting thought. What would it be like flying the Kit Fox here PPNG.
@@MissionaryBushPilot I wonder if there's a way to get a Draco 2m model plane to share with kids in the missions in PNG. I think it would inspire them to do well in school.
Years ago I talked to a girl who once was one of 2 POB in a Cessna that flew into cloud in PNG. The flight ended with them hanging from their straps lodged in the tree canopy of an extremely steep cliff. The PNGDF had to get them out via helicopter. I have seen a picture of the rescue - and it was pretty gnarly. She told me that the pilot said 'sorry' quite a few times...
Great video , I enjoyed that immensely, PNG is beautiful but extremely humid 🥵 I had rashes on my rashes on Manus and Naru , you obviously are a very accomplished pilot , great flying 👍🏼
I've been watching Orville and Wilbur videos for the past month and some Bleriot from 1909 crossing the English Channel, and now this. Wow, this airplane is an improvement over Wright Flyer III isn't it?
I am an Airbus 320. Honestly mate, not that I don't realise, but looking at you flying, I feel that I play video game inside the 320. No wonder Airbus pilot`s are called cockpit managers!! You are living my dream , honestly!!

LOL. I was on an innertube on a Central Florida lake famous for the size of its alligators. My friend (!) driving the boat decided to sling me close to the shore. I ran over an 10-footer, wiped out and prayed I wouldn't get eaten.

I'm a retired en route controller (Washington ARTCC in the USA), and 10,000 hour ATP and find it fascinating how different the rules are there. I fly my C414A all over the east coast and it's NOTHING like your flying. Sure looks like fun.
it is a lot different in PNG
Great flying your an awesome Captain and pilot! I have flown with Vietnam vets and my time 1987 era vets in planes and choppers! Your a good teacher hoorah SEMPER FI!
Solid flight dude! Greased that landing. Always good to come in with a stabilized speed and attitude then use ground effect to its advantage. As long as not much crosswind like you had it’s good to float it a bit with the extra lift the aircraft gets from the ground effect. You did a real nice job there. 👌👊
so cool - we can see from different angles. Great thanks for the spectacular flight view
Just spectacular. What a treat this is. Frankly, bush flying in the SW desert does not compare though, to be fair, that is a good balance for the humid tropics. Many thanks.
The sick bag on the co-pilot seat makes me chuckle!
Terrific to watch a master pilot at work. I have never seen this sort of film before. The explanations as we travelled along were fascinating. Thank you sir.
Wow, there's way more thinking and calculations involved than I thought. I can only imagine how intense it gets under rough weather.
this was amazing! Makes me want to come down and fly with you once i get all my certs etc! so glad i found your channel. Im 48 and finally getting to learn to fly! almost to my checkride now for my PPL lol still a ways to go but ill get it!
You SIR ! are an excellent teacher !
MUCH LOVE FROM GUAM !!!
❤❤❤❤❤❤❤❤❤
You are a joy to watch as you fly that beautiful caravan.
My husband is a pilot 40+ years--same age as Sully. Corporate av has no retirement age. Of course, I subscribed!
Hey, great to see you again I hadn’t been here in a while. My son and I are student pilots. Looking forward to flying in some amazing places like you have there. God bless.
What a change from the deserts of Nevada. And you sure aren’t flying any Kit Fox here. Interesting thought. What would it be like flying the Kit Fox here PPNG.
The Kitfox would need to be a turbo for it to be any fun in PNG
@@MissionaryBushPilot I wonder if there's a way to get a Draco 2m model plane to share with kids in the missions in PNG. I think it would inspire them to do well in school.
Fascinating! My dad was a pilot in the 60’s and I spent a lot of time in planes with him.
Love it. Lapsed ppl here and content like this makes me want to buckle up and take to the skies again. Happy landings!
another awesome video, i do like how you show the cluster as you're flying instead of just talking and flying.
Glad you enjoyed!
Watching this was just like flying the 208B in MSFS! Even the woman's voice saying "500" (feet AGL) is the same voice in the sim. I've never flown anywhere in PNG, but now I'll want to check out duplicating your real-world flight in MSFS. Thanks for posting this.
thank you for your casual normal speaking voice easy to follow . cheers mate
Perfect wave boarding lake if you like Crocodiles as company 😳
Motivation to NEVER wipe out!😂

LOL. I was on an innertube on a Central Florida lake famous for the size of its alligators. My friend (!) driving the boat decided to sling me close to the shore. I ran over an 10-footer, wiped out and prayed I wouldn't get eaten.
Man, the weather and clouds are absolutely GORGEOUS there!!
Love your videos! You combine clear explanations of flying and your knowledge of PNG into really entertaining content that is actually compelling to watch!
