Despite rising bond yields and falling stock prices, the markets remain uncertain about whether the Federal Reserve will maintain its objective of raising interest rates until inflation is subdued. As I contemplate whether to sell my $401k in equities, what's the most effective strategy for capitalizing on the current downturn in the market?
I advise you to seek professional advice because building a strong financial portfolio is more challenging. Your long-term objectives and budgetary preferences can be catered to in the ideas you get after that.
The best market strategy at the moment is working with a respected investment coach. I've been in touch with a coach for a time now, mostly because I lack the depth of understanding and mental toughness to deal with these ongoing market conditions. During this recession, I made about $700k, proving that the market is more complicated than most people think.
Accurate asset allocation is crucial. Some use hedging or defensive assets in their portfolio for market downturns. Seeking financial advice is vital. This approach has kept me financially secure for over five years, with a return on investment of nearly $1 million.
pls share taxation angle when buying from secondary market. for e.g. if we buy an SGB which is maturing in 2 years. As per understanding, it should be 0% capital gains tax as am holding till maturity (8 years of the bond). However my actual holding period is 2 years (less than 36 months so will it trigger short term tax).
Hi@@ProfitYogi if I buy SGB from secondary market on the 4th year after original issue. I hold it for for another 4 years till the maturity of the bond. 1. I have to pay captial gains taxes on the maturity amount? 2. Do I receive the maturity amount in demat account or bank account? Thanks in advance.

Gold is never an investment, as it doesn't earn you anything. It is a tool for wealth preservation. It also historically underperforms both the stock market and the real estate, but keeps its value during a crisis. But we rarely know when crises happen... And only after that I would atart thinking about apocalyptic scenarios where gold might become handy.
@@plan_bBitcoin Agreed, those are the only things which ultimately have real value, not gold. But those have no future value (food goes bad etc.), so cannot be considered as an investent for the future. What I've meant is that AFTER the apocalypse, when all my investments are gone, and my money is worthless, gold will be the best to start it over. Assuming there will be a new world order, and not just a permanent apocalypse.

In apocalyptic scenario I think you better stock up food and water, also cigarettes to trade for even more food not gold :)))
Untrue. Gold has no intrinsic value in that situation. In such a world would you trade a shiny brick for food, water, bullets, or shelter? Why?
