- Small comparison video about the mirrors available now in the new DAF XG, the last truck added to the game. Can we see the same things in both mirrors? Does the tradicional mirrors and the cam mirror show the same?

For safety normal mirrow, they work with the truck turned off (obviously they don't need electricity to work, is glass with silver) they don't glich and they are cheap to fix. The problem with the normal mirrow are blind spot and rain conditions
In real life, mirror cams would likely break, but mirror cams never breaks in-game, nothing can break in-game.
You know normal mirrors can break as well in real life?

I don't feel urge to play only new DAF because of Mirror Cam, but acctually I like it. Much better visibility at night it's a huge pro.

Ingame I like them, but for RL... I don't know... It must be a pain in the ... if one of the screens is not longer working or one of the cams decides to die. Same goes for the dashboard. If the screen is broken you are screwed. And I guess it might also be more expensive to change the parts and the costs of the parts are most likely also much more expensive.
Everything can break in real life, regardless they're electronic or mechanical.
Why do people think that only screens can break when analog dial and regular mirrors can break as well?
@@automation7295 the cost. Simply the cost of it. I bet my ass that a standard mirror is much more cheaper than a vam mirror. Beside that... the normal dashboard is mechanical, the new one combines everything and if its gonna break your completely screwed because nothing will work. Compare thst to problem that might accure on normal dashboards. Its always a matter of time and money. And I'm quite excited how this will turn out.
Try to see the bigger picture... the money picutre which always counts. Most probably for owner operators.

Now, in game, I like both. The traditional mirror is just better in almost every aspect, but the screen type of mirror is cool. In real life, I'm absolutely disgusted by the screen type of mirror! Why do we feel like complicating every single aspect of our life?! If they both serve the same purpose but the traditional one is much more practic, more simple, safer, etc, why do we need to change it?!
because normal mirrors in lorries have a lot of blindspots, this is why we r starting to use the mirror ones because they get rid of the blindspots which makes the roads much safer

Blindspots, plus camera mirrors are more aerodynamic aiding fuel consumption. They'll become more common as emissions regulations get stricter

For the game cam mirrors! Real life I am not sure.
I'm more of an old school guy, so I would pick normal mirrors even if they are not that better than digital one's.

Both have there advantages for me old fashioned mirrors all day long, the new mirrors just don't give the same clarity can't adjust to my liking also the angles are different especially the Mercedes they are bad

They do work truck turned off if you turn on electronics.

I think we have something. Not sure if for all trucks or for just some. You would like to have this for a specific truck? I think I can find for scania at least

For a specific truck, yes please, the model is a Volvo FH 2012
The camera mirrors are SO bad looking! That's the main reason why the new Daf and newer trucks look like Shrek 🤣 And you cant see the mirrors when the engine is off, so if you have an engine malfunction it is a big risk pulling over in the hard shoulder! And if your showing off your truck then you cant see the side of it unless you turn the engine on, look out of the window or go in 3rd person, rather then just looking in the mirror. I'm mainly picking on Daf but its mostly all newer trucks, you cant customise new trucks as much because there so full of useless tech such as camera mirrors and instead of a simple still good looking design that's mainly painted metal that you can customise, Like a Scania or even an old Daf. Once again new trucks are all glass, curves, plastic fillers, logos, tech and over designed headlights that fill up the truck and you cant change it so if you don't like the design then you don't like the truck. With simple trucks like the old gen Sania's, if you don't like the look if it then you can add more lights, paint jobs, bull bars and whatever you want because its like a blank canvass and the simple frame means you can fit a more powerful engine that beets new trucks. were going backwards by changing them when we don't need to, new trucks are a lot more expensive to repair and buy because of the over designed metals and endless tech. Finely you cant take them logging or use them on dirt roads because you cant get bigger tyres as they wont fit in the specific (modern) frame and the electronics will not like the rough roads.
Sorry for ranting on but there's no need to over design trucks!

DAF mirrorcams garbage in any condition's, no control over them just waiting for major accidents to mount up.
