The Future of Technology: Key Takeaways from NTWK Summit

Hello and welcome from Barcelona,
where I was attending the third NTWK platform and ecosystem summit.
I had the opportunity of being on a panel with Thomas Kirste from Bosch and Johanna Fuchs-Boenisch from Susteco. We discussed ecosystems from management theory to practice, and I'd like to share three key takeaways with you.
1. Bringing Management Theory to Practice:
It's crucial to translate management theory into practice with concrete and intuitive examples, methods, and concepts. For instance, we discussed using role plays within a company to simulate how C-level executives make decisions, which can help in tuning and adapting strategies to integrate ecosystems into the boardroom.
2. The Importance of Partnering:
Successful partnering is a mixture of shared vision, trust, and the right incentives. It's essential to build and rebuild trust over the long term and make it very attractive for partners to join and remain part of the ecosystem.
3. Establishing Business Ecosystems:
We explored various approaches to embedding business ecosystems within an organization, including:
Starting with small business ecosystem ventures and scaling up based on early successes.
Initiating transformation projects with dedicated teams to foster the ecosystem spirit and disseminate it throughout the organization using communication and traditional project management methods.
Establishing a real ecosystem organization, which requires significant resources, people, and defined roles.
