Most music is folk music in one form or another - where the cultural aspects of telling a story is the focus, and virtuosity takes a back seat - I'm glad he enjoyed the moment.
Now....Yngwie could get renewed attention IF he did an album of stylized traditional Swedish music. I think it would be inspiring to see his non-rock/neo classical roots showcased. I like many artists that aren't native English speakers and it's cool to see them interpret their traditional music with electric/rock ethos, like Rammstein, Loudness, etc... when they sing in their Native tongue and blend styles old 'n new

As expected, his playing was remarkable. Unfortunately the venue security were bullies. Almost as bad was Yngwie's attitude: he totally chewed the lighting people out. He was so offensive he just came across as a mini-dictator. Really soured the evening for me. Saw Scott Henderson later -best gig I've ever been to. Frank Gambale and Pat Metheny -also awesome gigs. I'd love to see Yngwie again, in a better mood. Really want to see Eric Johnson.
