@@larstinderholt7438 yeah for a long time i always thought he sounded overly cocky and arrogant - and then i heard a story that this was encouraged by his managers/producers to be part of his image.. i'd like to believe that is true and he is a normal, down-to-earth guy. what a talent though. :)

I'd say it's a fake shotgun scoop with not functional butterfly valves on an ordinary 4bbl carb (like Holley 4150), inspired by blown and injected drag cars where the shotgun scoop's butterfly valves actually are the throttle. 1955 was also the year Chevy was the 3rd biggest car brand in Sweden.

I saw him in Shanghai a couple of years back. It cost me a lot of money: the train to Shanghai, the hotel, the concert ticket, paying someone to look after the dog I fostered. As expected, his playing was remarkable. Unfortunately the venue security were bullies. Almost as bad was Yngwie's attitude: he totally chewed the lighting people out. He was so offensive he just came across as a mini-dictator. Really soured the evening for me. Saw Scott Henderson later -best gig I've ever been to. Frank Gambale and Pat Metheny -also awesome gigs. I'd love to see Yngwie again, in a better mood. Really want to see Eric Johnson.

I got the gist. The question was something like, "Did you hear traditional music growing up?"
Yngwie: "Absolutely. It was the first thing I was exposed to, along with Bach" (I think he mentioned Bach).
Additionally, the tune they played was really lovely.

he always had that reputation as being a total dick. seems like his wife has some magical powers...or "skills", because she seemed to make the change in him. he smiles a LOT now. saw him live at a small club... she was right there on the side of the stage. i think she has humbled him. he has a great life. seems to be more fun. still brags too much about marshalls, ferraris, rolexes etc. though.

It is nice, I mean really great to hear Yngwie play, just play, have fun with friends, smile and not put on a rock show. I have seen him live with the black leather pants (doing leg kicks) making that rock and roll pout face, tossing his guitar to his guitar catcher and all things 'Rock Show'. Worst of all is seeing interviews where he says mean, unflattering things about other world class pros. He is such a great player and I would like to see him smile or complement someone instead of insult them.
