I feel like the message would have been even better received if you went to an actual thrift store instead of a resale shop. I went to the thrift and got two garbage bags filled of clothes for $100
Nycole Pruett I can also go to a thrift store. Even though I consider Platos a thrift store. The other thrift stores around me are almost just as expensive. Except I get quality stuff at Platos. I look for quality over quantity. I wanted to find stuff that you could also find at the mall right now. That’s awesome that you found so much for so cheap!
It also depends on what type of thrift store because from what ive heard and seen from her haul, Plato's is nore pricy but then again she may pick more expensive items but I agree with you. I got a Life Guard Sweatshirt in perfect condition for $2 at my local non-profit thrift store.
Yeah, I also don’t have that many good thrift stores around me. Even my goodwill is more expensive. If it’s any sort of name brand the hike the price up super high.
No disrespect but platos closet is actually a consignment shop so prices are higher then a thrift shop.good haul though but you may want to check out a thriftstore next time you might find some more things even cheaper.
hey i work at platos and its actually not consignment! consignment is when you pay the seller of the clothing once it has sold, we pay cash on the spot for our items whether they sell or not! We also buy mostly top mall brands such as American Eagle, Abercrombie and Fitch, Hollister, etc., and offer them at a 50-70% off discounted price which is why they are not exactly as cheap as thrift store prices :)
I've never been to Plato's because there isn't one in my area but there is a non-profit thrift shop I thrift at and it is very reasonable. Most of the items are good quality and cost between $2-$14 typically and on fridays and saturdays are usually 50% store wide. But then again most people these days like to spend more money for the same items but its there money so I'm not judging on how they spend it.
Sage I think she just meant that Plato’s is generally more expensive than thrift stores like Goodwill because Plato’s has to pay for the clothes while Goodwill gets the clothes donated!

Yeah that may seem like a lot. But maybe it’s just the thrift stores around me. I got a pair of American Eagle sandals at goodwill for $14. So I just don’t have many cheap thrift options available.

Madeleine Harris I actually recorded another video going to goodwill. I haven’t edited it yet. But I wanted to show that my good will isn’t that cheap 😅 that cheapest shirt is 4.99. It doesn’t go any lower than that, but most of them are more than that. And it’s almost impossible to find the color of the day at my goodwill.

soooooo Forever 21 is actually a completely fast fashion retailing outlet, and the reason they have "such cute dresses" "all the time" is because they are stollen replicas of higher end clothing brands. only difference is the quality, production volume, and price. just thought I would share, but really cute video idea!

Either way, they have higher prices because they either pay you for your clothes or you are essentially swapping for their other inventory that someone else may have paid actual cash for

it absolutely is not. Platos Closet buys gently used clothing and resells it, which by definition is a consignment shop and not a thrift shop which is solely donation based. You can find this information on their website, they never advertise that they're a thrift shop because they aren't.
Alejandra Giraldo exactly. People say it's not consignment but when u donate to platos you get some money and that falls in the definition of consignment. The clothes are trendy they are not vintage. Platos would be considered a resale shop
Jessica Aguirre no thrift store and a resale/ consignment shop are different. They are similar but thrift stores get all their inventory from donations. Resale stores like platos closet are technically consignment bc people give their clothes to the store for an amount of money it's just different than a thrift store.

It takes a little time browsing all the clothes, but usually you can find same clothing at platos closet at a goodwill store for half the price. Always find clothes brand new with tags at good will 😊.

I do have a question...why do you use fitness pal (a dieting app)?? You seem to know exactly how many carbs and fat and protein you eat every day. Why do you keep track?
