- Recipe here: www.joyofbaking... Stephanie Jaworski of Joyofbaking.com demonstrates how to make Chocolate Marble Bread. Chocolate Marble Bread is eye catching with its beautiful swirls of white and chocolate cake. Although it may look complicated, it actually starts with a vanilla cake batter that has melted chocolate stirred into part of the batter. The marbling is created by placing spoonfuls of the white and chocolate batters in your pan, and then running a wooden skewer through the two batters. This Chocolate Marble Bread (cake) is so moist and flavorful that it really doesn't need a frosting.

I truly enjoy watching people do what they LOVE. And your love and passion for baking shines through in your videos. Thank a lot. Gorgeous Bread.
I made this yesterday in a 9 inch round pan - I baked it for 35 minutes - it was so moist ! Thanks Stephanie.
Hey, I´m from Germany and when i do this cake, i just put in the white first and on the top the dark, and then i take a spoon or something else and swirl it around :) I think thats a good thing when it has to be fast :)
I made this yesterday. It's a yummy cake with subtle complexity. I used full fat yogurt on my cake and the tanginess came through which was delicious. The texture is unlike most bread cakes because I used the recommended cake flour. It was moist, but had a different crumble and density. Definitely wait for the cake to cool completely. It gets more moist as it cools. I tried it after about 1hr and the cake was still warm and slightly dry. After about 4 hours it was ready to eat. Great cake. Wonderful recipe.
I made this cake and it's really good!! It was my first time baking so i didn't have much expectation, especially because i didn't have vanilla extract or proper tools, but it came out really good. Thank you for the recipe.
Her channel is awesome, I love it. Every time I make her recipes they work perfectly.
I love adding orange zest to the non-chocolate cake batter when I make these types of marbled cakes! Delicious :)
I've made this chocolate marble bread a few days ago (Probably for the fourth time since I made it the first time early 2020).
The recipe is great and the instructions are always precise and helpful.
To be honest though I add almost three quarter of the batter to the chocolate just because I love the chocolate bits more than the vanilla.
Thank you Stephanie
I have made this cake twice already because it's fantastic! I love the texture: it's moist from the sour cream and I guess it's the cake flour that makes it so wonderfully tender. I followed your advice and mixed some corn starch to the plain flour and it's perfect. There is really no need to buy cake flour when you can make your own. :)
I just love watching her cook. She makes it all look so easy.
Stephanie, you never disappoint! Your videos are always helpful, homey and make me feel like I'm right in the kitchen with you. I found an online recipe for a loaf of chocolate marble bread but the instructions for making three rows of alternating batter read like greek to me. After watching your video, I'm good to go! I'm switching to your recipe too! Thank You!
I made this cake today and l can vouch that its one of the moistest n most flavourful cakes ever..A surefire winner , u just cant go wrong here.

2/3 -3/4cup.Thanks stephanie for the recipe
I made this cake today and it was so delicious. My guests loved it. I used really good chocolate from Kind Arthur Flour and the taste was intense as well as the vanilla cake being soft and tender. I used chocolate whipped cream on the side.
Will definitely make this again.

You can melt chocolate without it seizing by placing it in the oven at just under 100 degrees Celsius, (about 200 Fahrenheit). It melts beautifully, you just need the time to do it.
I bought a scale a couple of years ago and it really does make a difference! This looks delicious, great job!

I used a 9 x 5 x 3 inch (23 x 13 x 8 cm) loaf pan. You could mix the coffee with the sour cream.
How much cocoa do u add
Hi Stephanie, could I make this cake in a cake pan instead of a loaf tin?
Thanks for your advice ......really appreciate it.....I think I got a little carried away while mixing the batter......mixed a little too long like in case of pound cake
I've made this one dozens of times now. Everybody loves it. Thank you!
Can I used a loaf pan 8" x 5" x 3" ? How long should I bake it? Is the oven temperature the same as your recipe? Thank you.
hey stephanie, what is the difference in your marble loaf and marble cake recipe? They booth seem similar to me
They are very similar. It's mainly the difference in pan size.
thanks a lot
Mam.... really good to watch this much clear deno... thanks ..
Hello, i would like to ask if it's possible to replace cake flour with self-raising flour? If so i'll just remove the baking powder right?
+Twan Er Lim Yes, since self raising flour contains baking powder and salt, I would omit the baking powder and salt called for in the recipe.
Thank you, this is very helpful. :)
+Joy of Baking your a AMAZING BAKER!😄🍰
Lovely! I'm baking this for a new neighbor now 😄
Won't you be my Neighbor ? (:})
Hi Stephanie, Your cakes are delicious and I have made many of them, including this marble cake. However, I often have the problem with this cake of the vanilla portion being spot on but the chocolate portion turning out a bit dry. Any thoughts on where I might be going wrong? (I follow the recipe carefully but this last time I used 2% fage yogurt rather than sour cream). Thanks for any insight you can provide. Even as baked, the cake was delicious ,especially with a glass of milk, but I'd like to crack this problem if I can. Thanks!!
Wonderful, thank you and I'll make it this week for sure.
Great recipe mrs jaworski the bread was delicious!
Thank you! Your recipes always perfect for me 😄
Dear Stephanie can we alternatively add scoops of each chocolate batter and plain batter and swirl according to the way we like. Thanks rims1
In your recipes can regular granulated sugar be changed to caster sugar? Would the weight or cup measurements be the same? E.g would 100g of granulated sugar be 100g caster sugar? Do you have any plans for demonstrating napoleons? Many thanks. Dorien
Just made it. It is so nice and soft! Thanks...!
Hey, Me and my 9 year old baked this cake yesterday, was just awesome. My daughter is allergic to eggs. What can use to replace eggs?

hey Stephanie what is the difference between ur chocolate marble bread and marble cake...at the end both look similar and have same marble effect...
Really nice ,I love it ,Thanks Stephanie .Elsy.
Best cake recipe..thank you for it
I'm new to baking. I'm wondering how long does the "preheating process" last? Do I have to turn the oven on before I even start preparing anything or turn it on after I've prepared everything? Does the length of preheating time affect the final product? Thanks for any advice!
It depends on your oven. Your oven needs to come up to temperature however long that takes. Usually your oven will indicate when it is up to temperature.
Hello, could i possibly use Low Fat Cultured Buttermilk in place of sour cream, if so how much would i need to use, thanks Sue.

Lovely video as always!
hello. can I know if your oven is fan mode or not . can I substitute sour cream with other ingredients? I love yr video. tqvm
+ally cang My oven does have a fan. Instead of sour cream you could use creme fraiche or a plain yogurt.
so close 2 800k, im subscribing to help u get to that goal!
Looking yummy, want to know the substitute of sour cream, can I use yoghurt?
Yes, you could use plain yogurt for the sour cream.
Is cup and half of unsalted better? or is it just a half cup of unsalted better ? I got confused because you said in the video cup and half while the written recipe said only half :(
It is 1/2 cup (113 grams) of butter.
Hey....what's the difference between the marble cake and marble bread??
Could you make this with self raising flour?
May I use this Marble Bread butter for mini marble cupcakes?
Hi.. Is there substitute to yogurt or sour cream in this recipe?
Stephen, Can we prepare marble cake in microwave oven?
Thanks,was very helpful with details.
Can i omit the yogurt or sourcream and replaced it with milk?
Hi Stephanie! Here in Brazil we don´t find sour cream easily and when we eventually do find it, it´s expansive. Can I replace the sour cream with another ingreddient without compromising the batter texture? I thought about cream cheese, but I don´t know.
I have used plain yogurt in this recipe which worked great.

Thank you! I will definitely try this today. I have also done your cookies recipe and they turned out amazing.

Love all your recipes :)
Hi ma’am
I am following your recipes from last 5 yrs .. thanks to give fantastic recipes.
But first time in marble cake when I baked it went down in center.. I don’t know why pls help me out if you know the reason ..
It can happen for a couple of reasons. Something to do with the mixing of the batter or maybe the oven temperature was too low.
If I have cocoa powder then how much cocoa powder I need for this recipe. Reply me soon. I want the recipe written for this recipe. Thanks Rupali .
