Stag Beetle on a Shady path by the Lake

As I walked down the shady path to the lake, this huge beetle caught my eye. I double checked in my insect book and the stag beetle is identical to this one with the 3 segments and white lines between each. No big antlers though. I don't see many now so was pleased to see this one.

I have seen them before including some with big antlers but do not see as many now
